"Yes Might, we will build some defenses (Wooden walls) and organize a town militia, there have also been sightings of renegade scout units outside the city. I fear an attack soon, Might, would you care to donate a few of your swords. I will buy them for 50 gold a piece..." *Septim sets an order for twenty iron longswords and twenty leather armor chestpieces for 4000 gold total, then he orders one hundred spears to be made from trees. Septim buys 100 iron spearheads for 10 gold apiece and after about three days, a militia is prepared, twenty men armed with swords and leather armor, and one hundred wielding spears. [[OOC: This should protect against small renegade units, but if a big one comes, I may need a bit more.]] *Septim orders the guards to train the militia into a formidable fighting unit. And Septim also trains ten to use fireballs.
[How many men/swords do I have?] Im gonna turn my castle into a Fuedal-ish type on so I get slaves basically :D "Ill give what I can.... but for now lets work on colonizing our area."
"I have spent over fifty-thousand gold coins colonizing this area, I thought it needs a good defense with the new threat...we have twenty farms on the outskirts of town producing food, a town square with stalls for trading and commerce, and many other things...if the raiders attack most of the settlers will go to your castle, and the soldiers will come to mine. Mine is more suited for combat as it has thicker walls and a catapult on top of the gate for defense." [[OOC: You have four iron longswords from the Ringleader's questline, one steel chainmail shirt, and a crate that contains three thousand food...the food could come in handy in case of a siege. And if there is an attack on Killaria (The place's main city where we started) I will have to go to the school to lead the defense there...so if there is an attack on Erabor at the same time I will place you in charge of defense of the settlers, and I will have the Captain of the Erabor Guard lead the guards and militia...]]
"Ill need to make room for the settlers."
"They will not defend your castle...they are defenders of the people, not us. If you want a personal guard hire a mercanary. The town militia is currently armed with wooden, iron tipped spears, and some are fitted with leather armor and iron longswords. Melkor!" *A servent enters. "I want the spearmen to also be armed with clubs and wooden shields, which can be made for free out of the trees." Melkor: "Consider it done!" *Septim sits back in his throne. "The settlers will only be in your castle if the raiders attack Erabor, and if they do they will feel the wrath of Count Septim of Erabor."
"The reason I think me should do that is because it builds confidence and strength. And if we fail to hold my castle they wouldn't have a chance."
"Every settler will have minor military training, I have also begun construction of an iron mine outside of town and a forge here. The smith is doing it for free on the condition that he doesn't have to pay taxes. He will forge ten iron longswords a day and four chainmail shirts a day for my army. I already have the first order in a crate inside my armory. Melkor!" Melkor: "Yes?' "Make sure they are distributed among the army, but as a prize to the best of them...that way the best have the tools they need..." Melkor: "Yes sir!" "Now, Might, any other concerns?"
"Yes, when shall we eat?" *Might sits down.*
"Of course..." *A steak and some potatoes are given to Septim and the same is given to Might.
Verll is walking around in Killaria when he meets on a old student, a bright young lady and if he remembers right the name was Eriar.
{Verlls gettin some action eh?)
A few days later... Watchman Verisus Donnelius sits in the watchtower at the edge of Erabor. He sees some shadows on the horizon and takes out his spyglass. He sees that it is a group of over a hundred men coming to pillage Erabor. He quickly warns the Captain, warns the militia, and then warns Septim. Septim goes to his armory, puts on his steel armor, buckles Firengard and Icengard, and picks up his steel kiteshield. He then grabs Quickthorn and goes down into the city to see Captain Xarxes preparing the defense. "Xarxes, take this rapier...it shall be an Eraborian tradition to pass that down from Captain to Captain...it is a fine blade, it is called Quickthorn, use it well. How much time have we left?" "Ten minutes, at most", says Xarxes as he replaces his iron longsword with the mithril rapier. "Alright then...are the men ready?" "Yes", says Xarxes. "Good...has anybody told my steward?" "I sent a messenger just a bit ago..." [[OOC: This will not be the last attack on Erabor by these raiders...we outnumber them and we have few bows, so we must defend at the gate. And I might not be on for the rest of today...]]
Erunion had been wandering around the town of Erabor (Bored...) when he heard the news of the attack.
*The boy rode quickly, and Killer looked up as he came. "Sir, there's an attack by the renegades at Erabor," he yelled as he came. "Ok, just go the army and get the general to round them up and head over with most of their men. The boy does this. The army go quickly to Erabor and await orders from Septim, 10,000 strong, with 1,000 on horseback.
Egnever a private for the army [[ Can I join please ? ]]
Verll wakes up with a hangover and stands up, as he dress he notice the student lying in the bed.
Sure Egnever. | ||||
*Might rounds up the citizens of Erabor and places them in his castle. He puts half his soldiers under Septims command while the other half guard the citizens.*
*The one hundred man unit quickly retreats when they see the size of the defense of Erabor, and they return with the main bandit army of 9,000 men. The bandit leader, Quickslash, comes forth and gives his men a charismatic speech before sending his men, in formation, to attack Erabor. *** *Septim quickly has the other half Might ordered return to the battle, while having his soldiers from the academy to guard the civillians. [[OOC: As Headmaster, I called some of the combat Professors to battle, about one hundred. Not much, but they are some of the best trained men in the Empire.]] Count Septim stands before the combined force of the Erabor town guard, the Erabor militia, and Killer's army. "Men of Erabor! The Cavarian Bandits have come to pillage Erabor, they have come because they expect that a new town like this will be an easy fight...well...they are wrong! Erabor is not only protected by the guards, but by the militia too! Some of you are great enough with spears to join Killer's elites! And, soldiers of Killer, you are the bravest of the brave, the best of the best. Cesil chooses his men well. So! This day will henceforth be known as the day that Erabor told the world, we will not fall! We will fight to the last man!" Cheers erupt before Septim, and Septim turns and walks down to his Captain. "Xarxes, ready?", asked Septim. "Of course...nice speech...", says Xarxes. "Thank you. Now I will join the archers on the north wall", says Septim as he walks away, taking his bow and quiver from Melkor he climbs the ladder and prepares for war. A half an hour later... An earthquake seems to occur as the bandits march, archers line the wall and the catapult is taken from Septim's castle to the gate. "READY! LOOSE!!!", yells Septim as the arrows are shot down upon the bandits. The more I kill now, the less we will have to kill when they reach the gate...
*Might from his castle provides magical support in the form of rain of fire.*
When the enemies reach the poorly made gates Septim has his men pour burning oil on the enemies, but does not have them light it for fear of burning the wall down. The enemies scream in pain, but they are soon replaced by more men, they bring a battering ram to the gates, and almost break them down before more oil falls on them, with the third team the gates break open, and the legions of bandits pour through. Septim, Xarxes, and the rest of the soldiers are there to greet them. [[OOC: About a thousand died on the initial charge, now only 11,000 remain.]] *Septim cleaves ones head off and blocks a blow with his shield, he then plows his spiked shield through a bandit's chest and rips it out, the bandit falls to the ground. Septim calls for the men to regroup into a shield wall, then Septim has the spearmen go into porcupine formation, spearing all bandits who come near. After the spears break the spearmen pick up the weapons and shields of the dead bandits (which range from rusty iron daggers to steel shortswords) and continue fighting. Xarxes had trained them well, for they fought as well as any of Killer's soldiers. Septim plowed his sword through two enemies at once, could not pull it out, and drew Icengard from its sheath, he defeated all nearby enemies, then pulled Firengard out of the enemies, yet was then clubbed in the back by an enemy. Septim fell to the ground and was about to be killed before Captain Xarxes drives Quickthorn through the enemy's back. "You're right, this is a fine blade!", says Xarxes before continuing the fight. Septim gets up, picks up Firengard, and continues fighting as well.
*Might calls down the fires of the heavens upon the bandits killing or severally burning thousands of them.*
Verll is in the middle of the combat, having a protective shield around him and crushing skulls with his staff. He couldn't move as fast as normally cause of that darn hangover thus the extra powerful shield. He was about to bring his staff down on a enemy soldier when something hit him in the back hard enough to throw him several meters from where he stood, luckily the shield had taken most of the hit. He stood up and looked back,&nb*beep*an was looking at him and the enemy soldiers stepped back, obviously they were gonna let the man deal with Verll on his own.
Septim heard a roar and turned to see the massive leader of the bandits, Quickslash, come towards him with his mighty warhammer. Quickslash used to use a cutlass, hence his name, but found the hammer more effective. An arrow hit Quickslash in the chest, yet he did not notice. "SEPTIM!!! FIGHT ME ONE ON ONE!!!", the brute roared. "I WILL!!! TELL YOUR MEN TO STAND DOWN AND I WILL MINE!!!", replied Septim. "STAND DOWN MEN!!!", commanded Quickslash. "Everybody, do the same!", yelled Septim as he walked towards the tank of a man. "Alright, Septim, you can use your swords and your shield. I can trusty old Skullcrusher...", said Quickslash to his maul. "Alright...but, if I win...your people will join Killer's Empire peacefully, if I lose...Erabor is yours", said Septim. "Sounds good...GO!", yelled Quickslash as he brought his maul down at Septim. Septim rolled out of the way and slashed his blade into the brute's leg. "ARRGGHHH!!!", he said, as the blade had gone quite deep into the steel hard leg. Septim ripped it out and brought it up into the brute's arm, rendering his left arm useless. He dropped his maul and pulled out a mithril cutlass. He trusts his hammer huh? Septim used his shield to block the cutlass and plunged his blade into Quickslash's shoulder. Blood was covering him now, yet he went on in an adreneline fueled state. Septim used Icengard and stabbed it into his throat, the beast of a man coughed up blood, and fell. Septim pulled out Icengard, sheathed it, and pulled out Firengard. "Alright bandits, he is defeated, you remember the terms?", asked Septim. "We will not follow them!", said one bandit. An arrow hit his throat and he fell. "You will, or you will all be killed, I can create a shield to cover myself from arrows, but you will be killed...", said Septim. One bandit walked forward. "Alright Septim...most of us are forced to be soldiers anyways...", said the man. The bandits dropped their weapons and took their armor from themselves and left, under the watch of the soldiers of Killer, to Killaria. "Alright, surviving men of Erabor, collect the weapons and armor of the fallen bandits and take them to the armory, then loot their camp..." [[OOC: Killer, you decide how much gold we get from the camp....]] The swords and armor amount to be 4000 iron shortswords, 3000 iron longswords, 3000 steel shortswords, and 2000 steel longswords. Along with 7000 sets of leather armor, 3000 sets of iron chainmail, 5000 iron bucklers, 2000 iron kite shields, 2000 iron square shields, 2000 iron round shields, 1000 steel square shields, and 2000 sets of iron platemail, some of it broken, but it is reforged and repaired by the people who didn't fight. Septim takes Quickslash's maul, Skullcrusher, his cutlass, Windslasher, and his mithril plate armor up to his castle. "Have all of the remaining Eraborian guards and militiamen armed with steel longswords and iron chainmail, then deliver the rest to my warehouse in Killaria. And when the smith is no longer busy, have him refit the mithril platemail I recovered from Quickslash to my size..." Septim gives the armor to the smiths (whom has a long list of things to do) and then puts the maul and cutlass into his vault. Afterwards Septim invites Antonis Xarxes, Verll, Zarisus, Might, and Skorg to his castle for dinner. Afterwards he recieves the casualty list. Casualties: 4000 Killarian soldiers 30 militiamen 4 guards (There were only five...) Magic Master Zarisus

[How many men did I lose? How many men did I even have?]
[[OOC: None, they never made it to your castle to kill anybody...they were kept at the gate...but of the 150 militiamen, thirty died...and four of the town guards out of five died...]] Septim greets Might, Skorg, Xarxes, and Verll and takes them in. "Well done, I understand that your brothers in arms didn't make it through the battle Xarxes. You can get to work on hiring some more when you are ready...now, it is my duty as Headmaster to inform you of Master Zarisus's untimely death. He was my friend and your boss. And we need a new Magic Master. Might, Verll, as both of you are Magic Masters you must compete, along with the thirty other teachers. But, back to the topic at hand. We have collected many weapons from the dead bandits, and our militia and guards will be armed well now. I have rewards for your valor as well. All of you are to be Knights of Erabor, and if you do not already own one, a house in Erabor." "I am renting a small shack right now...", says Xarxes. "A three room house for you, and one for Skorg..." Just then a man in black robes enters. "Hello, I am sorry for interupting, but Zarisus's will must be taken care of...his belonging were left to the Academy, and as headmaster you will be in charge of them. His powerful Staff, Aechon, his house, and his gold..." "The gold is to be put into the school treasury, and I will hold on to his staff...and will give it to the next Magic Master...and as for his house, I will hold onto that..." *Septim takes the staff, key, and deed and puts it into his vault, then returns to the table. "Now, what shall we do to replace the population of the militiamen?"
"I suggest the making of a army."
"An army? We now have the weapons...and Erabor has around 2,000 people living in it...we could make one if it grows a bit..." A messenger runs in and informs Septim that 100,000 gold was taken from the bandit camp. (I am sorry Killer, but I am guessing that it would be quite a bit...if this is not ok then we can all rewrite everything that happens after this point. I am not going to keep it all, I am going to use it to upgrade Erabor...) "Give one hundred hundred to each of the militiamen and guard's families..." Septim uses the rest to upgrade Erabor to a small city, then to a large city, then to a massive city, costing ninety thousand gold coins. Septim then puts the remaining seven thousand into his vault. Septim sends the guests home and a few weeks later, Erabor stands as a massive city guarded by a huge stone wall. Septim then forms an army of four thousand troops, the soldiers from Sergeant up armed with steel and the soldiers from Sergeant and down armed with iron. Septim gives Xarxes the rank of an Eraborian General, Septim then sends him with three thousand of his army out to conquer cities and lands not held by King Killer, and that when they conquer a town, a Mayor under the command of Septim must be sent and will send 30% of all taxes back to Septim. Soon the armies of Septim manage to conquer the bandits former cities of Falca, Welto, and Qisi. Septim sends a mayor to each one.
| ||||
In the battle, Egnever had 3 fingers of his right hand cut off and broken it
[There was 650,000 gold in the camp, as they mostly stole from poor people, this is quite a bit. However, there was 2,500,000 food or so there.]
[[OOC: I am now manager of this thread...I will use his character sometimes.]] *Septim uses the other 50,000 he gets to turn Erabor into a Metropolis, he then gives 5,000 gold coins to Verll, Might, and Xarxes and then sends 100,000 of it to Killer as payment for his sending of an army. "I am sorry to hear that...I will give you five hundred coins for each of your fingers. But, I know a powerful mage that might have a potion that restores lost fingers, his name is Verll. I will give you the job of Quartermaster of the Eraborian Army for fifty gold a day. I would suggest that you go to my academy in Killaria and get a job as a professor, if Verll can restore your fingers you would be a good melee professor. The choice is up to you..." Septim then sends out several teams of settlers whom create five new settlements, Septim upgrades each one to small cities, then upgrades the three other small towns he had to massive cities. [[OOC: 1000+5000+9000+10000=25.000 gold a day! :-O]] *Septim calls Might into his castle. "Might, I said I would pay you for being my steward when Erabor grew enough, so I will now give you 1,000 gold a day for your services." Septim then uses fifteen thousand gold coins to build a school inside Erabor, which is quickly populated by professors and students.
Verll walks in to Septims office while he was talking to Egnever and hears his name and that Egnever should ask him about restoring his fingers. He walked up next to Egnever and looked at his hand.
Egnever saddles and rides to Killaria, its not a far distance
Erunion is back in the barracks, playing cards.
Septim writes a letter of Independence from the Killarian Kingdom and sends it to Killer. Septim then declares the County of Erabor to be the Eraborian Empire. Septim conquers the remaining bandit small cities of Falcia, Essilor, Iellia, Resil, Chondor, Archillon, and the massive city of Banditia. Septim also conscripts soldiers from his cities and raises an army of 13,000 to battle the seafaring Essilian Empire. In the cities Septim finds a total of 30,000 gold and sends it to Killer as payment for his independence. Septim's army takes Gongoris, Birchestia, and Cossolon before they can mobilize. Upon hearing the good news he goes about his duties as Headmaster and starts the competition. He sends letters to Verll, Might, and the other teachers. Teachers, You must show your strength in teaching, so do what you would normally do and my men will report back to me on flaws. [[OOC: 25,000+23,000=48,000 gold a day Tomorrow I conquer the rest of the Sea Empire, and then with Killer as my ally we can take the Gordian Empire! The Gordians are massively rich and their land is so large that it needs to be covered in another map (It is about as large as the other half of the place...]]

Egnever's fingers were healed due to verll being so great
[[OOC: First off, High General Antonis Xarxes is commanding the war. And let clarify the income of cities, if they are all small towns as you said then they are worth 1000 apiece for income, which goes to me and not Killer (Erabor is independent now...) so 8000 a day is added to the Eraborian income...meaning 56,000 gold a day. Oceania is a massive city (as are all capitals) so it is worth 3000 a day.]] Septim sends a letter to Egnever promoting him to Major and increasing his pay to 600 gold a day. Septim then rides out with another army of two thousand to Oceania and reaches it within a day in time for the final battle. The catapults shot massive projectiles which crumbled the walls to pieces and killed many defenders. The Eraborian soldiers then ran in and slaughtered all opposition, Oceania and the Essilian Empire is conquered. My lands now include those of the former bandits and those of the seafaring people. Septim puts a guard of a thousand men in Oceania and takes the rest of his army back to Erabor to prepare for battle with the Gordian Empire. Septim sends a letter to Killer to prepare his armies for w*beep*ptim takes the navy of the Essilian Empire and prepares it for battle (fifty troop transports, thirty warships and one flagship destroyer, which is renamed the Pride of Erabor). Septim conscripts the citizens of the former Essilian Empire which makes up about 5,000. The Army of Erabor amounts to 21,000 soldiers while Killer's is 25,000 and they march upon the Gordian Empire side by side, while the navy terrorizes the sea towns of the Gordian Empire.
Gordia is massive, and will take about two real life days to conquer. Septim's navy quickly takes Coastia, Arcadon, and Essilonia. Septim's north army takes Resstion and Syl while his south army takes Foltor. Killer's army takes Gorin and Gorditia. Back in Erabor Septim makes Egnever Lord of Archillon for his services in conquering the Essilian Empire.
Wooooop! | ||||
Killer's army takes Gordolon and attempts to take Gordaria alone and they fail, retreating back to Killaria with only a thousand men. Septim's army takes half the cities over six months and loses only a thousand men. Septim then manages to break through Gordaria's outer wall at night and sacks it. Afterwards the taking of the rest of Goria takes two years, and after a long while Septim's armies return home with half of their original number. Septim pays each of them five hundred coins, and then turns his sights on the weakened Killarian Empire. He launches an invasion from all sides, and within two weeks Killaria falls, Septim declares himself Emperor of the United Empire. Septim makes Egnever Duke of the Bandit Lands, Might Duke of Killaria, and makes Xarxes Duke of Gordia, Septim pays Might, Egnever, and Xarxes 3000 gold coins a day for their service as Duke and takes the money into the Imperial Treasury. Septim then upgrades the cities of the province of Erabor to massive status. Septim also adds 2 million gold coins from Killaria and ten million gold coins from Gordia to his vault, along with three thousand mithril plate armor sets and three thousand mithril swords, which he uses to arm his elite army.
Wow..... | ||||
COOL! | ||||
[[OOC: It was a war game, now it will go back to it's roots until the other continents attack the United Empire...then it will go back to war. That won't be for a while though.]] *Septim uses a hundred thousand gold to turn his large castle into a massive palace, Septim then turns Erabor into a massive metropolis for 100,000 coins. Septim then makes every city in the province of Erabor into a metropolis for one million coins and creates five more. [[OOC: Income: Some crazy massive figure of money...I guess at about 200-250k...now this will return to a roleplaying game...]] *Septim retires most of his army, but keeps an active army of two thousand elite men in mithril armor with mithril swords. Septim then wonders what he can do now that he owns just about everything...
Egnever uses 10k coins to buy a large castle...
Nice one ^^ | ||||
[That was quick... My empire destroyed while I was off the computer... Nice map Septim. I might join this in a few weeks Spetim as a player, if you don't mind.]
This is a little easier for us Dukes..... But of course Septim owns all x]
Firengard: Icengard: *Septim finally has time to enchant Firengard with fire and Icengard with ice, so he does so, he carries Firengard with him at all times and only uses Icengard in battle. Septim practices all of his abilities. He becomes a master of illusions so he can turn invisisble at will, healing so that he can heal the most fatal of wounds, destructive magic so that he can cast many tough spells, and shields so that he can block almost any spell. Septim then practices his forging and creates a blade finer than Firengard, he calls it the Aechon, which in an ancient language means Power. He puts into the blade many spells. It can heal the user, it can destroy almost anything with the lightest slash, and it has the power of charisma, so that an armies morale can go from horrible to excellent in a matter of seconds. He then locks the blade in his vault, only to be used when the Empire is in extreme danger, and if anybody would use it for a purpose other than the protection of Erabor would bring upon themself death and torment.
