"It's good to meet you, Duke Tiber. This is Johansen, my Second mage, and this is Torealan, Master at arms. I myself am an archmage, but not near as good in healing as Johansen."
[OOC: Erunion we'll have to remane you Eragon soon.] *Seloc having dealt with his crew, leaving the injured to Finre, joined the strange meating.* "Ragnarr I lost 22 in that battle, and 7 injured, I'm gonna need some more crew soon as. Also my ships in bad shape. Dam these pirates I just had a new mast installed too."
{OOC: I would find that insulting. Eragon is a tempermental, uncreative Teenager... Scrying is used by many fantasy mages, and I had thought of using exploding/fire arrows before I read the book... :P}
Ragnarr looked at the elf, Erunion. He shaked his hand firmly.
*Seloc turned away and walked towards the 'Blue Ray'.* "FINRE, KON! get all the wounded aboard the 'Blue Ray', then get the ship ready to sail." *Seloc took a grapple, then leaned back on it to see if it was sturdy enought to surport him then jumped across the gap between the ships aboard the 'Blue Ray'. He landed heavily on his feet, sending a tingling up his spine.* "Where's the boarding plank?" *A sailor shrugged, as Seloc pointed at him.* "Well then find it and help transport the wounded across it when you have!"
"I have some small skills, but Johansen here is indubitably the greatest healer that has ever served under me. He can heal anything short of a corpse."
*Septim looked at the arm growing back. "Interesting..." *Septim walks over to the edge of the ship and looks out, he sees a small dot sailing away. "Hmmm...they bit off a bit more than they can chew by taking the elves...." *Septim goes below deck and grabs as much loot as he can, he also takes a few parts out of the ship in case they ever need them for the Stormborn and gives the boarding plank to Seloc. He then goes back down and finds a chest in the captain's quarters. He sees that it has mysterious symbols on it, but Septim can somehow read them. "'Inside is the Book of Ages, read only if you are brave', well I'm brave..." *Septim opens it and suddenly feels a burning feeling in his bowels, he falls to the ground and all goes black...
Septim looks around, all is white. "Tiber", says a voice. "Who are you?", asks Tiber. Tiber recieves no response, but sees the ghosts of his dead father and mother. They both have long gashes in their necks and stab marks in their hearts. "WHY TIBER?! WHY DID YOU LEAVE US TO DIE!?", yells his mother. "Yes Tiber, did we not raise you right?", asks his father. Tiber trys to speak, but words couldn't come out, his sister appears. "Tiber...you left us to die, there is no excuse!", yells his sister. His brother appears. "Brother, why?", he yells. Tiber's head feels like it is about to burst in the pain of loss when suddenly, he awakes on the floor of the Captain's room. He gets up and looks upon the chest. "You have passed the test, it is yours", says the box. Septim looks inside to see a ruby amulet, he tests it for curses and puts it in his pocket. "I'd better ask Erunion...", says Tiber. Tiber walks upstares to Erunion and approaches him. "Erunion, do you know what this is?", asks Tiber as he pulls the amulet from his pocket.
Staring long and hard at the strange amulet, Erunion is perplexed. In the name of ZeTa, what is this thing doing here?
*Septim thought long and hard, looked down at it, then remembered the box's words, "You have passed the test, it is yours", Septim looked up, if the box thought it unsafe to give, it would not have given in it him. "I...will keep it...for my own reasons...", said Septim.
"Septim, the thing is dangerous, volatile. This much I know. All it could take to set it off in some things like that, would be saying the wrong word, or pushing the wrong spot. Then we could all be dead."
"And I barely know you...why would I give you such a dangerous object if for all I know you could've been taken while trying to find this!?", said Septim.
"Because I am a mage with enough power to contain it, and if it's dangerous, hide it where it can never be found, if not destroy it."
"Prove to me that you aren't evil, and I will give it to you, prove it to me!", said Septim.
*One of the prisoners walks over to Ragnarr*
"How could I? Alas, it seems an impossible task. The only people who could vouch for me are on land. Could I at least cast a containing spell upon it? I would not wish for you to kill us all in your sleep."
"Let me into your mind so that I may read it and discover your intentions, if your intentions are good then I will let you keep it so that it remains safe, if they are evil I will not let you have this amulet...", said Septim.
"I fear that would be impossible. The last person to enter my mind fell into a coma for 10 days, and didn't remember what he saw in there. I was fine with him being in there, too." Every word true, I guess it's because I teleported here from another world, my mind isn't quite normal...
*Septim really didn't want to give the amulet to the elf without knowing his intentions, but he also did not want the ship to be destroyed. "Put your charm on it, then I will give it to you in the box I found it in...", said Septim.
"If you leave it in the box and close the lid, it should be good enough. I'm sure that the container for something like this will be good enough, if I can keep it where people wouldn't be able to waltz in and steal it."
*Septim turned and walked downstairs, he placed the amulet in the box and thought, "If the box will let him have it, it would be fine with him", Septim then shut the lid and brought it up to Erunion. "You have it...it is safe in here...", said Septim as he passed the box to Erunion.
"Thank you, Septim. It will be safe with me."
Meanwhile, on deck. Jonny was just getting healed by Johansen, when one of his men came up to him, and asked for a word. He was one of the few men that had been with Jonny for most of his life. A good ten years younger, he had served under Jonny while they where just marauders. "Sir, I need to talk to you. Some really rather important stuff is going on around here. I'm not sure I like the way things are looking right now." "Its fine. Look, I think that if anything is of massive importance, we should tell the captain." "Of course sir." Darius proceeded to tell Jonny all tha he had overheard between Erunion and Tiber. It was a long story, with Jonny interupting a lot. Finally, when they got to the end, Jonny looked at Darius in disbelief. "Tell no one about this. I mean no one." Jonny had spent some time as a captive, when he was younger, on board a marader ship, and there, in a dank cell in the hold, had befriended an eld named Satorion. He nad the elf had spent weeks together, talking. Satorion had been very old, even by elvish standards. He told Jonny tales of treasure the mystified the boy. One he loved to hear about was an amulet. It was said to be very powerful, and, in the wrong hands, could end the world. Jonny wasn't sure about Erunion and his intentions, so, he was going to have to keep an eye on the elf until he was sure. [ooc:The drama unfolds, eh?]
*Septim boarded Ragnarr's ship and saw Erunion go down into his cabin. Tiber was suspicious, but dismissed the thought as he turned to Ragnarr. "Are we leaving soon Ragnarr?", asked Tiber.
Ragnarr was talking with Verll about the longship Stormborn, as now he was part of the crew. "We could use spare hands, lad. Come aboard with us and you'll have a lot to tell to your grandsnons,..." [ Verll : Watch - I hope you have good eyes. If you prefer Master at Bow, PM me. ] [ Erunion : Mage. If you prefer Master at Bow, PM me. ] They were just shaking hands when Septim asked Ragnarr. "Yes, Duke Septim. First we'll give the men a proper burial and then we'll head south to a small bay to repair the ships. Ready the Voyage Ships." Thirty eight northmen died in the battle. They all died as warriors, in combat. Ragnarr wanted to make sure that they were sent to Valhalla properly. They quickly built up four smaller longships from ready material under deck. They were not sea worthy and unstable, but were good for the work needed. Ragnarr and Kormac, as well as others, placed the bodies properly in the four ships, putting their weapons and best armor beside them, as well as a lot of mead and one Hammer of Thor in each ship. They pushed them away from the Stormborn. The small longships slowly floated across the silent and calm waves. Kormac took out his bow and egnited the arrow before sending it at the first ship. Once it hit the longship, flames quicly devoured the Voyage Ship. He did the same with the three others. They burnt almost silently as the night came. Slowly, they floated towards the sunset, until they burnt. Ragnarr made a quick silent prayer to the Old Gods, after which he raised his head and looked at Sir Bacardi. "Ready the men for a short journey. We'll be there in the morning. Septim, send a raven message to Seloc about our southern course. Verll, go below deck and take out the ale, mead and beer, all the ale you can find." After he said that, Ragnarr went to his position at the rudder oars and diretced the longship south, the Blue Ray being close behind. As the journey started, the men started taking their drinking horns and filled them with mead... [ Feasting time.]
[OOC: Yes I can write a paragraph where I was feasting with myself.] *Seloc went to bed early because of a headache, leaving Finre in charge of following the 'Stormborn'.*
[ OOC: Oh, yes, sorry, forgot about that. We're on seperate ships.]
Verll finds himself some beer and walkes over to Ragnarr.
Soon, Erunion is walking up the stairs, out of the belly of the ship.
[Agreed but for now I'll stay out of the picture for a while and watch the story unfold]
Verll drinks up the beer and gets himself some mead instead. He walks over to the reeling and looks over at "Blue Ray" and thinks too himself "Nice ship."
After two hours the ships had entered Remcia Bay. Even though that the wind was light and the waves low, they had caught a tide and arrived at their destination much earlier than planned.
*Septim sat far away from the others, he watched the celebration, but did not cheer, for he was saddened by the deaths of the crew members. "Poor men..." *Septim pulls a canteen out and drinks water from it. "Beer just makes you miss..."
Verll emptied his horn and cheered with others, and then he started singing a song about death. The whole crew joined in and after some seconds, the whole crew had joined in on the dirge[OOC:I have no idea if that is the right word]
Seeing as Septim was morose, Erunion decided to help him. Grabbing a mug of mead, Erunion stared at it, then it turned green...
Verll looks at the green mead.
"I only intend to heal one hangover on the morrow..."
Verll grins. "I don't get hangovers."
"Trust me, you would..."
"Just one sip, please" | ||||
*Septim gets up and wobbles "Tha stuff's nothrung at all!" *Septim wobbles a bit and falls in his chair. "Nowayth, not at alls!"
"He woke up, surprising, that."
*Septim gets up and wobbles to his bed, where he collapses into sleep.
*Jonny sang along with the rest of the men, happy to be alive to have something to sing about. He drank and danced with the crew, just helping everyone party up, and be joyous.* [ooc:not a very emo-esque unhappy type of character am I?]

[OOC:Man, my comp has was all messed up, Jeez, I really screwed up that post. Sorry guys.]
The night passed in drining and singing of heroic songs. Eventually everybody collapsed on the deck to sleep, since they were all tired from the battle and they had emptied the longship from all its alcohol.
"Men, I want you to do what you can for the holes in the ships, and Johansen, go around healing hangovers, it'll be appreciated."
Verll wakes up after everybody else and thinks to himself "What the bloddy hell did that elf put in that drink"
*Septim is already awake when Ragnarr gets up because he passed out much earlier. He walks up to the Elves. "I gathered a lot of parts from the ships we battled yesterday if you need any, although I am sure Elves do not need wood for fixing a ship, am I right?"
