The Stormborn
20:29:30 Oct 9th 07 - Mr. Erunion Telcontar:

"It's good to meet you, Duke Tiber. This is Johansen, my Second mage, and this is Torealan, Master at arms. I myself am an archmage, but not near as good in healing as Johansen."

20:30:49 Oct 9th 07 - Mr. Seloc:

[OOC: Erunion we'll have to remane you Eragon soon.]

*Seloc having dealt with his crew, leaving the injured to Finre, joined the strange meating.*

"Ragnarr I lost 22 in that battle, and 7 injured, I'm gonna need some more crew soon as. Also my ships in bad shape. Dam these pirates I just had a new mast installed too."

20:34:52 Oct 9th 07 - Mr. Erunion Telcontar:

{OOC: I would find that insulting. Eragon is a tempermental, uncreative Teenager... Scrying is used by many fantasy mages, and I had thought of using exploding/fire arrows before I read the book... :P}

"Hello, good sir. You are captain of yonder ship, and need more crew? Until I can make it to my destination, I would be more than willing to have myself and my men on your boat."

21:35:44 Oct 9th 07 - Sir Ragnarr Stormguard:

Ragnarr looked at the elf, Erunion. He shaked his hand firmly.
"You helped a lot in the bloody fight. My thanks. I'll be glad to have you aboard the Stormborn."
The northman then looked around. The deck was covered in bodies, still bleeding. He recognised some of the corpses. There by the main mast was leaning Johan's dead body, lifeless from three arrows in his chest. Over there, by the bow, lay Ricmorn, his axe still in hands, with blood gushing from his head.
"Lord Seloc, (lord, since you have a ship), tend to your wounded and prepare your dead for proper burial. We'll go south to a small silent bay to repair our ships. Duke Septim, I think seeking out the pirates nest won't be a good idea at the time." Ragnarr cleaned his sword from the blood with the red cape of the Sirens' Call's captain. He then placed it in his sheath. "However, before burning these ships, plunder them. Strip everything valuable from them. After that's done, we'll burn the flagship and the other vessels, leaving only the Bringer of Doom, where the remaining pirates will go. We shall let them sail away, for they're too weak to do anything - I doubt they'll survive more than a few days, yet it's not honorable to kill them off now,..."
As the northeners started looting the ships, Ragnarr spoke with Erunion.
"Do you have skills in medecine? We have many wounded lads here,..."

22:10:58 Oct 9th 07 - Mr. Seloc:

*Seloc turned away and walked towards the 'Blue Ray'.*

"FINRE, KON! get all the wounded aboard the 'Blue Ray', then get the ship ready to sail."

*Seloc took a grapple, then leaned back on it to see if it was sturdy enought to surport him then jumped across the gap between the ships aboard the 'Blue Ray'. He landed heavily on his feet, sending a tingling up his spine.*

"Where's the boarding plank?"

*A sailor shrugged, as Seloc pointed at him.*

"Well then find it and help transport the wounded across it when you have!"

22:11:23 Oct 9th 07 - Mr. Erunion Telcontar:

"I have some small skills, but Johansen here is indubitably the greatest healer that has ever served under me. He can heal anything short of a corpse."
"Johansen, see to the badly wounded, I'll deal with those with lighter injuries. Torealan, gather all our weapons and armour from this ship."
With that, Erunion and Johansen started kneeling beside wounded men. One man's arm had been lopped off, was healed by Johansen, the arm literally growing back into it's original form. This, was rather unnerving, and the man who's arm had been taken off fainted during 10 second process.

22:25:15 Oct 9th 07 - Duke Tiber Septim IV:

*Septim looked at the arm growing back.

"Interesting..."

*Septim walks over to the edge of the ship and looks out, he sees a small dot sailing away.

"Hmmm...they bit off a bit more than they can chew by taking the elves...."

*Septim goes below deck and grabs as much loot as he can, he also takes a few parts out of the ship in case they ever need them for the Stormborn and gives the boarding plank to Seloc. He then goes back down and finds a chest in the captain's quarters. He sees that it has mysterious symbols on it, but Septim can somehow read them.

"'Inside is the Book of Ages, read only if you are brave', well I'm brave..."

*Septim opens it and suddenly feels a burning feeling in his bowels, he falls to the ground and all goes black...

Septim looks around, all is white.

"Tiber", says a voice.

"Who are you?", asks Tiber.

Tiber recieves no response, but sees the ghosts of his dead father and mother. They both have long gashes in their necks and stab marks in their hearts.

"WHY TIBER?! WHY DID YOU LEAVE US TO DIE!?", yells his mother.

"Yes Tiber, did we not raise you right?", asks his father.

Tiber trys to speak, but words couldn't come out, his sister appears.

"Tiber...you left us to die, there is no excuse!", yells his sister.

His brother appears.

"Brother, why?", he yells.

Tiber's head feels like it is about to burst in the pain of loss when suddenly, he awakes on the floor of the Captain's room. He gets up and looks upon the chest.

"You have passed the test, it is yours", says the box.

Septim looks inside to see a ruby amulet, he tests it for curses and puts it in his pocket.

"I'd better ask Erunion...", says Tiber.

Tiber walks upstares to Erunion and approaches him.

"Erunion, do you know what this is?", asks Tiber as he pulls the amulet from his pocket.

23:33:13 Oct 9th 07 - Mr. Erunion Telcontar:

Staring long and hard at the strange amulet, Erunion is perplexed. In the name of ZeTa, what is this thing doing here?
"Duke Septim, this is not safe. I'm not sure what it is;" They must not find out what this is. I don't know what they will do if they find out. "But I believe I should keep it, for further study." With this amulet, you can control time, distort it. Change it. With this amulet, you could tear the fabric of the world apart.
After saying this to Septim, Erunion puts his hand forward, palm upward, reaching towards the amulet.
"Well, are you going to keep the possibly unstable, very powerful, magical amulet so that you can sink our fleet by accident? Or are you going to hand it to me?" Said Erunion with a smile.

23:39:23 Oct 9th 07 - Duke Tiber Septim IV:

*Septim thought long and hard, looked down at it, then remembered the box's words, "You have passed the test, it is yours", Septim looked up, if the box thought it unsafe to give, it would not have given in it him.

"I...will keep it...for my own reasons...", said Septim.

23:45:58 Oct 9th 07 - Mr. Erunion Telcontar:

"Septim, the thing is dangerous, volatile. This much I know. All it could take to set it off in some things like that, would be saying the wrong word, or pushing the wrong spot. Then we could all be dead."
Fool boy! He'll get us all killed, and if it falls into the wrong hands, the whole world will die, or serve some bloody fool with megalomaniacal ideas.

23:51:46 Oct 9th 07 - Duke Tiber Septim IV:

"And I barely know you...why would I give you such a dangerous object if for all I know you could've been taken while trying to find this!?", said Septim.

23:53:38 Oct 9th 07 - Mr. Erunion Telcontar:

"Because I am a mage with enough power to contain it, and if it's dangerous, hide it where it can never be found, if not destroy it."
Damnation! The boy isn't going to hand it over.

23:55:06 Oct 9th 07 - Duke Tiber Septim IV:

"Prove to me that you aren't evil, and I will give it to you, prove it to me!", said Septim.

23:57:23 Oct 9th 07 - Mr. Verll:

*One of the prisoners walks over to Ragnarr*

"If you need anyone talented with a knife and with sharp eyes , you can count on me, my lord"

00:02:08 Oct 10th 07 - Mr. Erunion Telcontar:

"How could I? Alas, it seems an impossible task. The only people who could vouch for me are on land. Could I at least cast a containing spell upon it? I would not wish for you to kill us all in your sleep."
Blood and bloody ashes! The fool boy, unwilling to part from his bloody new toy!

00:16:26 Oct 10th 07 - Duke Tiber Septim IV:

"Let me into your mind so that I may read it and discover your intentions, if your intentions are good then I will let you keep it so that it remains safe, if they are evil I will not let you have this amulet...", said Septim.

00:20:22 Oct 10th 07 - Mr. Erunion Telcontar:

"I fear that would be impossible. The last person to enter my mind fell into a coma for 10 days, and didn't remember what he saw in there. I was fine with him being in there, too." Every word true, I guess it's because I teleported here from another world, my mind isn't quite normal...

00:28:10 Oct 10th 07 - Duke Tiber Septim IV:

*Septim really didn't want to give the amulet to the elf without knowing his intentions, but he also did not want the ship to be destroyed.

"Put your charm on it, then I will give it to you in the box I found it in...", said Septim.

00:32:18 Oct 10th 07 - Mr. Erunion Telcontar:

"If you leave it in the box and close the lid, it should be good enough. I'm sure that the container for something like this will be good enough, if I can keep it where people wouldn't be able to waltz in and steal it."
Damn! Nearly slipped there. Getting old. Of course, I've been getting old for the past 140 some odd thousand years. But this time I almost revealed that I actually did know about this bloody world-ender.

00:43:01 Oct 10th 07 - Duke Tiber Septim IV:

*Septim turned and walked downstairs, he placed the amulet in the box and thought, "If the box will let him have it, it would be fine with him", Septim then shut the lid and brought it up to Erunion.

"You have it...it is safe in here...", said Septim as he passed the box to Erunion.

01:21:35 Oct 10th 07 - Mr. Erunion Telcontar:

"Thank you, Septim. It will be safe with me."
Thank heavens the boy chose reason.

Later that day, in a cabin, Erunion opened the box. He remained upright, but his consciousness faded into nothing.

"Hello, old friend. Do you remember when Xecanoc created you?"
"Telcontar. I am a sentient piece of wood and box. Of course I remember..."

02:11:28 Oct 10th 07 - Sir Jonny Bacardi The Last Paladin:

Meanwhile, on deck. Jonny was just getting healed by Johansen, when one of his men came up to him, and asked for a word. He was one of the few men that had been with Jonny for most of his life. A good ten years younger, he had served under Jonny while they where just marauders.

"Sir, I need to talk to you. Some really rather important stuff is going on around here. I'm not sure I like the way things are looking right now."

"Its fine. Look, I think that if anything is of massive importance, we should tell the captain."

"Of course sir."

Darius proceeded to tell Jonny all tha he had overheard between Erunion and Tiber. It was a long story, with Jonny interupting a lot. Finally, when they got to the end, Jonny looked at Darius in disbelief.

"Tell no one about this. I mean no one."

Jonny had spent some time as a captive, when he was younger, on board a marader ship, and there, in a dank cell in the hold, had befriended an eld named Satorion. He nad the elf had spent weeks together, talking. Satorion had been very old, even by elvish standards. He told Jonny tales of treasure the mystified the boy. One he loved to hear about was an amulet. It was said to be very powerful, and, in the wrong hands, could end the world.

Jonny wasn't sure about Erunion and his intentions, so, he was going to have to keep an eye on the elf until he was sure.

[ooc:The drama unfolds, eh?]

02:15:44 Oct 10th 07 - Duke Tiber Septim IV:

*Septim boarded Ragnarr's ship and saw Erunion go down into his cabin. Tiber was suspicious, but dismissed the thought as he turned to Ragnarr.

"Are we leaving soon Ragnarr?", asked Tiber.

15:40:56 Oct 10th 07 - Sir Ragnarr Stormguard:

Mr. Verll

Report

10/10/2007 12:57:23 AM
*One of the prisoners walks over to Ragnarr*

"If you need anyone talented with a knife and with sharp eyes , you can count on me, my lord"

Ragnarr was talking with Verll about the longship Stormborn, as now he was part of the crew.
"We could use spare hands, lad. Come aboard with us and you'll have a lot to tell to your grandsnons,..."
[ Verll : Watch - I hope you have good eyes. If you prefer Master at Bow, PM me. ]
[ Erunion : Mage. If you prefer Master at Bow, PM me. ]
They were just shaking hands when Septim asked Ragnarr.
"Yes, Duke Septim. First we'll give the men a proper burial and then we'll head south to a small bay to repair the ships. Ready the Voyage Ships."
Thirty eight northmen died in the battle. They all died as warriors, in combat. Ragnarr wanted to make sure that they were sent to Valhalla properly.
They quickly built up four smaller longships from ready material under deck. They were not sea worthy and unstable, but were good for the work needed.
Ragnarr and Kormac, as well as others, placed the bodies properly in the four ships, putting their weapons and best armor beside them, as well as a lot of mead and one Hammer of Thor in each ship.
They pushed them away from the Stormborn.
The small longships slowly floated across the silent and calm waves.
Kormac took out his bow and egnited the arrow before sending it at the first ship. Once it hit the longship, flames quicly devoured the Voyage Ship. He did the same with the three others. They burnt almost silently as the night came. Slowly, they floated towards the sunset, until they burnt.
Ragnarr made a quick silent prayer to the Old Gods, after which he raised his head and looked at Sir Bacardi.
"Ready the men for a short journey. We'll be there in the morning. Septim, send a raven message to Seloc about our southern course. Verll, go below deck and take out the ale, mead and beer, all the ale you can find."
After he said that, Ragnarr went to his position at the rudder oars and diretced the longship south, the Blue Ray being close behind. As the journey started, the men started taking their drinking horns and filled them with mead...

[ Feasting time.]

15:58:41 Oct 10th 07 - Mr. Seloc:

[OOC: Yes I can write a paragraph where I was feasting with myself.]

*Seloc went to bed early because of a headache, leaving Finre in charge of following the 'Stormborn'.*

16:32:34 Oct 10th 07 - Sir Ragnarr Stormguard:

[ OOC: Oh, yes, sorry, forgot about that. We're on seperate ships.]
[ Well then when we reach the bay, which won't be long, all of the BLue Ray's crew shall come aboard the Stormborn to join the feast. Agreed? ]

18:38:58 Oct 10th 07 - Mr. Verll:

Verll finds himself some beer and walkes over to Ragnarr.
"Thanks for letting me join your crew, I will not fail my duty as a watch." he says and takes a sip of the beer.

19:44:19 Oct 10th 07 - Mr. Erunion Telcontar:

Soon, Erunion is walking up the stairs, out of the belly of the ship.
That amulet is not supposed to be here. Damn! I thought that Xecanoc hid it in another dimension, after building that box. I will not allow it to destroy this world as it did the other! It must not. Well, at least I can trust that Septim boy, The box told me so... Taking advice from a box. Bah! What's this world coming too?

"Men, there is mead, wine and food! Let's mingle with our hosts, eh?"

20:04:40 Oct 10th 07 - Mr. Seloc:

[Agreed but for now I'll stay out of the picture for a while and watch the story unfold]

20:29:49 Oct 10th 07 - Mr. Verll:

Verll drinks up the beer and gets himself some mead instead. He walks over to the reeling and looks over at "Blue Ray" and thinks too himself "Nice ship."
He then takes a sip of the mead and goes back to mingle with the sailors.

21:59:03 Oct 10th 07 - Sir Ragnarr Stormguard:

After two hours the ships had entered Remcia Bay. Even though that the wind was light and the waves low, they had caught a tide and arrived at their destination much earlier than planned.
The Stormborn and the Blue Ray slowly entered the silent bay. They settled somewhere in the middle. The men lifted the sails and threw anchors. The two ships had anchored so close to each other that only two meters of open sea devided the two decks. The men quickly found planks and "joined" the two ships for the night. Soon, most of the men were aboard the longship, pouring themeselves beer, rum, mead and any other alcohol found aboard. Northmen quickly filled their drinking horns and even quicker emptied them. The men were joyous. They had forgotten for a moment about the dead and their wounds and started boasting about their heroic fighting, each telling a more enchanting story than the next.
Ragnarr was drinking mead on the commander's deck along with Duke Septim, Sir Bacardi, Lord Seloc, Erunion and Verll. They were talking and drinking together, with the same mood as the crew.  After some time, Ragnarr decided that a speech would be appropriate for the mens' morale.
He stood up. His tall figure was visable for all on the deck. As they saw him, they stopped their conversations and waited patiently for their lords' words.
"Brothers, "he started, " today many of those who we called close commrades found their deaths. Yet they died as true warriors and even as we speak they are now feasting with the Old Gods, as we are now. " Ragnarr raised his drinking horn. "This is to the fallen. " he said and took a deep drink.
The men silently drank as well.
"And for us, the ones who are still alive, may this not be our last great battle!"
The sailers happily and loudly agreed before taking another deep drink.
"Duke Septim and Sir Bacardi, I am honoured to have such skillful men aboard the longship. Lord Seloc, you truely proved your mastery skills in sea battles today. Erunion, thank you for the help, we'll be glad to have you aboard. And Verll, welcome to the Stormborn! This one is for us!"
Ragnarr emptied his drinking horn as the men, northeners, elves and everybody else, cheered the ones he spoke of....

22:02:22 Oct 10th 07 - Duke Tiber Septim IV:

*Septim sat far away from the others, he watched the celebration, but did not cheer, for he was saddened by the deaths of the crew members.

"Poor men..."

*Septim pulls a canteen out and drinks water from it.

"Beer just makes you miss..."

22:04:20 Oct 10th 07 - Mr. Verll:

Verll emptied his horn and cheered with others, and then he started singing a song about death. The whole crew joined in and after some seconds, the whole crew had joined in on the dirge[OOC:I have no idea if that is the right word]

22:32:36 Oct 10th 07 - Mr. Erunion Telcontar:

Seeing as Septim was morose, Erunion decided to help him. Grabbing a mug of mead, Erunion stared at it, then it turned green...
"Septim. Do not mourn the dead, for that obscures one from the living, and that wouldn't be good at all. Have a mug of this, a popular brew, back in my home."
Gratefully, Septim took the mug, and started to drain it. "This isdleciuusssss..." With that, he collapsed.
"Blast, I'd forgotten it was a little strong for those not used to it... Well, I'll heal his headache in the morning."

22:36:23 Oct 10th 07 - Mr. Verll:

Verll looks at the green mead.
"Could I have some?" He ask Erunion

22:37:19 Oct 10th 07 - Mr. Erunion Telcontar:

"I only intend to heal one hangover on the morrow..."

22:37:59 Oct 10th 07 - Mr. Verll:

Verll grins. "I don't get hangovers."

22:38:29 Oct 10th 07 - Mr. Erunion Telcontar:

"Trust me, you would..."

22:40:01 Oct 10th 07 - Mr. Verll:

"Just one sip, please"

22:43:16 Oct 10th 07 - Duke Tiber Septim IV:

*Septim gets up and wobbles

"Tha stuff's nothrung at all!"

*Septim wobbles a bit and falls in his chair.

"Nowayth, not at alls!"

22:56:16 Oct 10th 07 - Mr. Erunion Telcontar:

"He woke up, surprising, that."
"Ah bah!"
Mildly annoyed, Erunion makes up another mug.
"Here you go, but I will not be responsible for any headaches or missed duties on the morrow."
Verll also chugged it, and he too, collapsed. He, however, having had something else to drink already, did not get up for some time...

23:54:22 Oct 10th 07 - Duke Tiber Septim IV:

*Septim gets up and wobbles to his bed, where he collapses into sleep.

00:34:48 Oct 11th 07 - Sir Jonny Bacardi The Last Paladin:

*Jonny sang along with the rest of the men, happy to be alive to have something to sing about. He drank and danced with the crew, just helping everyone party up, and be joyous.*

[ooc:not a very emo-esque unhappy type of character am I?]

01:18:29 Oct 11th 07 - Sir Jonny Bacardi The Last Paladin:

[OOC:Man, my comp has was all messed up, Jeez, I really screwed up that post. Sorry guys.]

23:30:13 Oct 11th 07 - Sir Ragnarr Stormguard:

The night passed in drining and singing of heroic songs. Eventually everybody collapsed on the deck to sleep, since they were all tired from the battle and they had emptied the longship from all its alcohol.
Ragnarr woke up the next morning early at sun rise. He found himself laying on the deck with the drinking horn in his hand. He dropped it and stood up slowly.
Most of the men were still asleep, although some were starting to open their eyes - after all, sea veterans were used to waking up in the first shine of the sun.
Steadily, they stood up and slowly cleared the deck from last night's feast. The Blue Ray's crew went back on its ship, took the "joining"  planks off and strated inspecting the damage from the battle last day. Ragnarr's men did the same.
The Stormborn wasn't very severly damaged - only hear and there some planks had to be improvements, although there were a few holes in the hull and the mast needed touching up. All in all, it was a work for one day, no more.

23:36:04 Oct 11th 07 - Mr. Erunion Telcontar:

"Men, I want you to do what you can for the holes in the ships, and Johansen, go around healing hangovers, it'll be appreciated."

23:38:41 Oct 11th 07 - Mr. Verll:

Verll wakes up after everybody else and thinks to himself "What the bloddy hell did that elf put in that drink"
He then sees Johansen walking around healing hangovers, and walks over to him and asks "could you help me with my hangover, please?"

23:44:34 Oct 11th 07 - Duke Tiber Septim IV:

*Septim is already awake when Ragnarr gets up because he passed out much earlier. He walks up to the Elves.

"I gathered a lot of parts from the ships we battled yesterday if you need any, although I am sure Elves do not need wood for fixing a ship, am I right?"
