"That is what I meant. We should try and build up trade between our two duchies."
{Actually, advances in agriculture, such as the enclosure movement, new machines and selective breeding, all caused an overflow of people that moved into the cities as they lost their jobs. This in turn allowed for massive factories of people working for low wages at jobs to create manufactured goods.
[[ It started with the mechanisation of the textile industries, the development of iron-making techniques and the increased use of refined coal. Trade expansion was enabled by the introduction of canals, improved roads and railways ]]
[I have gunpowder.....]
[I have gunpowder. Not saying im using it.....I just have it.]
[[OOC: Saltpeter doesn't exist here, and so gunpowder cannot as well, and plus, this is to STAY medievil!...*sighs* and Erunion, as long as guns, automobiles, and anything else that existed past the 12th century don't come into play then I am fine. And Might, you cannot bring the most powerful of demons into this plane of existance, he has to be a minor to mid-level demon, if he is the most powerful thing next to the God of Hell, then I will have to order you to send that thing back to whence he came...and why is he not impressed with me *sniffle*. Anyways, Verthias, no absorbing my Generals...or anybody else, you can't absorb them for power, you must create your own power, that is what people in this plane do...and Drakonians are pretty much human in ability unless they are in dragon form...]] Emperor Septim walks in on the meeting between Erunion and Might. "Your demon is a foul one, I sense he intends to use you for his own ends...he is not your servant Might, and that aside, Erunion, I have brought this chest with 30,000 coins to start your Duchy off. Good luck Erunion." Septim, equal and almost greater in power to Xerxus, sees through his disguise, and as he walks out he thinks to himself. Lord Xex-Oz? Hmmm, he is not the Xerxus he says he is...I will leave this for Might to figure out...unless he has, then he is planning to lead the demons to the conquest of Erabor... *Septim turns and walks out of Telcontar's castle, he then sends a letter to Verll before leaving to his capital on the continent of Erabor.
{I'm thinking of machines, steam and manufactured goods. Early trains for mass-transport? Yes. Steamboats? Yes. Non-magical Aircraft, cars or guns? Heck no.}
[[OOC: I don't like the idea of machines, sorry. I tell you what, I will create a place that takes place 600 years after this, with me still Emperor (I have a long life-span...) and your decendants if you want...]]
{Don't need it. I'll just have old-fashioned (very old fashioned) assembly lines with molds... I'll still produce a great deal of manufactured goods.}
[[OOC: Alright...but you still need to mine the ores...]] *Septim walks out of Verll's castle a while later.
*Xerxus laughs as the puny human, Septim "Sees" through his disquise.* Oh human....you only see what I want you to see. I thought you would have learned....oh well. Now about that chocolate cake that Might made last night. That was delicious!
[Septim ^^ why would you think I have died?]
Septim decomissions many of Might's airships and many of his own, along with all of the other air fleet. Only 500 airships remain, the mages on them put to other tasks to help the economy. Septim keeps only the Star of Erabor lets Might command the other five hundred ships. Septim then puts the mages on other tasks that will help the economy rather than maintaining an airfleet that isn't needed now. Septim then puts the materials to good use in buildings in all of the provinces. He limites the provinces down to an army of 5,000 apiece (if you didn't catch the earlier message) and Septim keeps a standing army of 50,000 to help throughout the provinces as guards. Septim then spends about 100,000,000 gold rebuilding parts of destroyed cities throughout the Empire, many buildings are restored and rebuilt and the struggling economy stabilizes. Septim is hailed on the streets as a great Emperor rather than a destructive warlord. Septim uses the mages of the ships to help the farmers produce more food, for the miners to mine more ore, and the buildings to be build faster. Septim has most of the 30,000,000 swords throughout the Empire melted down for buildings. Might was recognised for his sacrifice of his airfleet and was given a Medal, the Medal of Sacrifice. Septim saluted him and went on. Septim returns to his palace and orders the sending of 300,000 gold to Might for his sacrifice before sitting in his throne and now, with the economy controlled and the cities rebuilt, he feels satisfied that he had been a good Emperor.
*Might looks at Xerxus with a mad face.* "How DARE he disband MY fleet! How DARE he! He didn't even ask me! Hes acting like the mages and the ships are his! When he didn't give 1 nickle to help my research! HOW DARE HE!"
[[OOC: Might, I did talk to you about it, on the IRC...]]
[In game....no your really didn't though.]
[[OOC: I did, and you wouldn't see reason, those things are expensive to pay for, I did you a favor, Erabor conquered everything and anything there is to conquer, and now we are stabilizing this massive Empire's economy...]]
[But its still my fleet....I should have the choice to disband it.]
[[OOC: Yes, but the money was needed for the economy...for the Empire...sorry, but I had to...]] *Septim watches as the airships get melted down and the naval warships are stripped, afterwards Septim, in dragon form, escorts the 500 remaining airships personally to Migharia and delivers them to Might. Afterwards Septim flies off to Erabor, feeling a little bad for taking the liberty of disbanding Might's fleet, but them feels better knowing that the economy is better for it. Septim arrives at his palace a half an hour later and goes to his throne room.
[WTF?! I told you on chat to NOT melt them!!!!] "Thats it....Xerxus. Not only did he disband them ,ubt now he has taken the liberty to melt my adamantium plated ships......thats it!"
[[OOC: Might, the reason I disbanded and got rid of everything is because the standard pay for a Duke is 3k, you do not get the money from the cities, I do, and it goes into the Imperial Treasury and back out into a city. The Governors of States do not get the money from taxes, the Treasury does. And that massive airfleet you created could not have been created on 3k a day...so that is why I am taking it away, along with much of your armies, so that this game goes back to the "limited" gold ways instead of the "I can create huge fleets on 3k a day" ways. Killer would have never let that happen...]]
[Its still my fleet and my adamantium.]
[[OOC: Killer would have never let that happen, because it was never this complex...I am doing a reset. The way this works is I will start off as Killer did when he started the game. I will be Emperor of an Empire about the size of the original Killaria, and you will all start from scratch. The entire war theme is out the window, no more wars unless it is for defense, just like with Killer, and no more citybuilding...that will get rid of this whole mess. You all start off with 10 gold and 10 food. I am not going to actually be in this as I will be taking the role of Killer, so good luck, ZeTa be with you all...]] [[[[GAME RESET]]]] Far, far, far o'er the lands of green and rivers of blue, there lay a castle. Up on the top-most level there was a chamber. Septim yawned and woke up, and he was grumpy. "No bloody servants doing anything for me, I have to do everything myself," as the servants had left the previous day. He looked out on to his land. "No-body has come yet!" Septim sighed. He would have to stick up signs. He wandered downstairs, and got some food to eat, and then went out and stuck signposts up saying: Servants wanted. 10 gold a day. Septim contiued on, and he saw that the guards were coming. "Ah, good. At last they have come." Now all I need are people working in this bloody patch of land. When ever are they going to come and make this place a city." Right, what this is: People(you...maybe?..) come into the city with 10 gold and 100 food. You eat 10 food every day(real time), and you die if you don't have enough. You have to make your gold by honest means. Guards send you to prison or kill you if you don't... Rules: You can do illegal stuff as long as you don't get caught, but not these rules. You HAVE to obey them, otherwise you get kicked out. 1. You can't kill me, Septim. I won't actually play, just make sure no-one is cheating. I will play with another character, because I love this game. 2. You can't make stuff appear out of nowhere. (That means your airfleet Might...) 3. Ummm... that's it... I think... Oh, wait, you can't just make people die. You have to explain how you kill someone, and give them the chance to retaliate. Laws(these are inforced by guards, you don't have to obey them, but you might get killed by the guards, who are armed, or put in prison.) 1. No stealing. 2. No killing. 3. No controlling NPCs. There will be more soon...

Everybody in the game must be human or elf, no orcs, monkeys, Tigarians, Drakonians, Trolls, or Serpents...that about clears most of the problems up. I will start... *** Antonis Xarxes goes to the Mercanaries Guild and signs up as a raw recruit, they give him a rusty iron dagger and some leather gloves and they give him is first job, he must go into the Inn of Ill Fortune's cellar, clean it up, and kill any rats. NOOOOO!!
[[OOC: Sorry Revenge, but to tell you the truth, I didn't like it how it was, I like it how it is now, I, as Antonis Xarxes, will take an active role in the game while I, as myself, will take the Killer role in the game...don't worry...it will be fun like this too...]]
[[ I think I'll quit, its been nice playing.... ]]
Right, me and Septim had an Idea
Erunion Telcontar walks in, and signs up for the army.
Gondolin comes up. "Alright Private, take your iron shortsword and iron chainmail chestplate and go out to the training yard, lets see what you're made of!" Gondolin leads Erunion outside. "You will be fighting Private Conwell for the rank of Corperal..." [[OOC: Duels count as jobs for the Mercs Guild, and if you participate in a battle and do well it counts as three jobs.]]
*Wraith looks at the list of jobs and decides to sign up in the army. He goes to the army recruitment headquarters and asks if he can join up as an archer in the army.*
Revenge walks up and signs up for Teaching
Gondolin comes out. "Alright, you are a Private, take these, leather armor, a rusty iron dagger, and an oak shortbow...you will have to go to the archery range and practice, if you have improvement then we will promote you..." *** A man comes out and greets Revenge. "You want to be a teacher, you will start as a sub-professor for 10 gold and ten food a day...", says the man, "Your classroom is 4 on the second floor." [[OOC: And no saying you hit every target, you've got no skill right now...]] Jonas Topal wakes up, buckles his iron shortsword, puts on his leather gloves and breastpiece, and walks over to the Mercanaries Guild's main building, he enters and a man approaches him. "Hello Topal, we've got a job for you, interested?", he asks. "Of course, what is it?", asks Topal. "Well, somebody needs a man to watch his store while he does his errands, and since thieves are out and about, he hired a merc, that merc is you. You must go to the clothing shop and protect his goods while he goes out and about. "Yes sir!", says Topal. Topal heads down to the clothing shop and a short man with a bald spot approaches. "You the merc I hired? Good, now I'm off to do some errands...protect my merchandise until I get back, and no stealing, I did an inventory...", says the shopkeeper. Topal walks inside and sits on a chair. A half an hour later the door opens and an unarmored man with an iron dagger at his side walks in. Topal rises and unsheaths his blade, the man tries to run but Topal grabs him, twists his hand so that the dagger falls out and tackles him, after about one minute of wrestling on the floor Topal goes triumphant and calls a guardsman whom was stationed a block down the street over. "This man attempted the robbery of this store, take him to prison for me?", asks Topal. "I will, goodbye...", says the guard as he grabs the man, shackles his wrists, and takes him off down the street towards the prison. Breathing heavily after a tough wrestling match. Topal goes back inside and sits for another half an hour until the shopkeeper returns. "Greetings, did any thieves come?", says the shopkeeper. "Only one, and I defeated him", says Topal. "You got the thief? Good, then take this set of clothes", says the shopkeeper, he gives Topal a nice dark brown jacket, a set of nice dark brown shoes, some dark brown trousers, and a light brown shirt. Topal leaves with his clothes in a box and goes to the Mercs guild, they pay him 200 gold coins and with it now being about 12 PM, Topal returns to the inn, he puts the box with his clothes in it in a chest at the foot of his bed and takes of his leather breastplate and gloves, he puts them into the chest as well and decides to keep his shortsword, he puts all of his gold except fifty coins in as well and closes the chest, after locking it he leaves his room and goes over to the Academy where a man greets him. "Hello, I would like to learn melee combat for fifty gold coins...", says Topal. "We can teach beginners combat for twenty five gold, or intermediate for fifty, good costs 500, great costs 1000, and to be taught by the headmaster costs 5000 gold", says the man. "I will take the intermediate course...", says Topal. After nine hours of tiring practice with his blade, he returns to the inn and collapses onto the bed.
Zrike walks up and signs for mage practice
"Sorry sir, you don't have enough gold" (You start with ten gold and you've yet to get a job...), "Come back when you have a bit more..."
*Wraith goes to the archery range. He takes aim with the shortbow and releases the arrow. It doesnt even reach the target. He pulls back further for his next shot and this just misses it.His third shot just clips the target. He spends an entire afternoon working on his aim until he can hit the target about 3 times for every 5 shots. He goes to the Drunken Dragon and pays 50 coins for the week. He then goes to sleep content that he managed to hit the target a few times.*
Gondolin catches Wraith on the way out. "Hey, pretty good for a novice. I now promote you to Corperal, take these light leather gloves, good for your aim..." [[OOC: I am leaving until Saturday later today, so just pretend I did jobs for those days...I really don't want to let all those days go to waste...]]
( ok then ) Zryike leaves for a hour and then comes back with 100 gold. "is this enough?" "you don't want to know where i got that" *smiles*
[[OOC: Zryike, you need to have a job to get gold...]] A guard runs in and punches Zryike in the face. "I saw you steal that man's wallet! I will let you go as it was your first offense!" The guard takes the one hundred gold and walks off. [[Jobs: Servant to Emperor Septim - 100 gold a day and 10 food a day. Army career track - Start as Private; 100 gold, 10 food a day. *Killer looks about him. He had only been sick for a few days, with a fever, and now he had woken up to a broken empire. He got a boat back to the mainland, and found the place. It was still in fairly good condition. He decides to go to Septim's palace. It still remains, with all its grandeur. He debates between serving Septim and working at the farm or with the blacksmith. He decides he better not show his face to Septim, and she couldn't be bothered working with a nlacksmith again, so he goes and works for the farmer. He gets a room at the inn of ill-fortune.* Items: 55 gold, 20 food.

[[OOC: Killer, this is an alternate reality, everything is reset, the Empire never existed, Erabor is the exact same thing Killaria was when the game started...]] A man walks out. "Alright Might, you're a recruit, your first job is to clean out Old Man Resco's basement...get to work! Take this rusty iron dagger and this pair of leather gloves as well!", the man gives Might a rusty iron dagger and a pair of leather gloves. *** "Delran, you may join the Eraborian army as a private, take this iron shortsword and this iron chainmail chestpiece...", says Gondolin. *** The mage approaches Zryike. "Alright, I need help organizing my book collection..."
Alright, sorry. Well... I'll still stay a farmers hand at any rate.
Verthias peered through the door. Good, there the Tigrarian was, asleep, as expected... he crept out, sneaking towards the old man, and suddenly BANG SMACK CRASH he found himself whizzing down a purple tunnel, blazing with corouscating energy. When he came to, he was lying, back-down, gazing up into the tranquil sky. He felt a bizzaire sensation from his back. He hefted himself up and looked down at the floor - there was a sharp rock, with blood trickling off it, and he felt the warm liquid sliding down his back. He leaped to his feet with shock. This could mean only one thing, he knew: He was human again. He fell to his knees and laughed up at the sky - after thousand of years of creeping on the boundaries, of hiding his face from the rest of civilization, he had finally returned to his origional form - the origional body in which he had died. He didn't pause to consider his good fortune, and looked around. The rolling, undulating hillscape, with a settlement nestled in a slight depression in the folds of the land, was hauntingly familiar, but he didn't care. He could already feel his millenia of memories fading, but it was all moot. He was human again! Nearly skipping with joy, he sprang down to the town, and applied for a job in the army - he still had vague memories of some kind of milatiristic life before this new one, and decide to continue with this. Besides, the pay looked good... By the time he'd gotten into the recruiting office, most of his memories were gone entirely. [Well, I couldn't get rid of my beloved Verthias, scourge of the living and taker of souls, without saying goodbye ><] [By the way, Septim, me aborbing people's knowlege by sucking out their soul was hardly an advantage, bearing in mind everyone else's inhuman learning skills. It just gave a plausible reason for me to learn stuff, quickly]
