[[ Alright here goes nothing...]] Gailen stood quietly in the spot in front of the house in which he last saw his old master. He began to weep when it finally hit him that he would never see him again at least not for a very long time. As time past he gathered his things together and began the long haul back to Istaos. As he walked he began to think of how he was to go about killing this monsterous beast that had defeated his master. As he tred across the scarred ground his heart becamed filled with an anger so great nothing, or so he thought would change him from this point until his death. He began to feel a lust for revenge for all the lost souls and for his master and all the souls that will be lost if he does not succeed on this mission. All of this built up and as he stormed to the city he felt himself rise up off the ground only slightly. He stopped only briefly to ponder why, but when the rage enveloped him once more he walked on. Shortly after he burst into fire. Not any normal fire, this was the purest fire he had ever seen and what's more it did not burn him nore his belongings. The flames were a light shade of blue with white within. As he walked on and his rage grew inside him the flames outside grew bigger and more intense. It would seem this is the happenings of his staff, perhaps an emotional connection of sorts. However, he did not have time enough to sit and think on this he had a target in mind and nothing would stop him from reaching it, hopefully. As he walked the air he noticed an odd looking figure sitting next to a tree. He thought perhaps it is a mercenary of this dreaded mage that plagued the area, but he would have to listen to what it had to say if anything as was his nature. What events unfolded from then on would be up to him. [[Onex I know you don't like controlling others charactors, but since we can't go back and forth I ask if you would be so kind as to do so to mine. Just think of the answer an enraged mage bent on revenge would say in response to your questions. If you do want my help though I'll be on the VU chat room as well as IRC, so we can discuss it there if need be. Thanks]]
[[OOC I think Septim is done here, but I'm not entirely sure. As for the RP in general. I think we should post the order at the end or beginning of our posts so then I at least Know who is up and When I go, just an idea.]]
[[No you can go back and forth if there is a confrontation, unless there are more then two characters invovled, in which case you will follow the order. Say there is a battle between two people, or a narrative, they will post back to back. Just ask if you are unsure : )]]
[[hehe, Alright that works out then. Let me know when your going to post Onex. I'll be getting off in a few hours 4 or 5 to be exact. Otherwise we are going to have to do this later tomorrow because I'm still painting my house. : ( ]]
[[we can do it now]] Standing up he looked at the mage, he was young, and was also completely incased in flames. Clearly his master had not had the time to teach him how to seperate his emotions effectively, it led to blended and uncontrolled magic. Walking towards him he noticed the magic pouring off of the boy, he strongly resisted the urge to chuckle, a couple hundred years of training and this boy would be well on his way to being a match for Zarun, as it was his power level was close, if not equal to that of his. Walking closer he noticed the blue tinge of the flames, frowning he looked towards the sky, the dark moon shone back at him, "Blue is not your color I'm afraid" he said, he would have to play this carefully, he didn't want to have to battle him, because of his experience he would win, but Zarun would be fully aware of both of them both, and they would be weakened from the battle. Looking into the mages eyes he called on some magic of his own. He planted his staff in the ground, the soil began rippling, as though it were water and some force was blowing it away from him. Rising up slowly until he was eye level with this unknown mage, he continued to look into his eyes, there was no fear, only anger as he watched, although some level of suprise lit his face, it was still pushed back by his rage, "So tell me young mage" it was only a rhaspy murmer, but was easily audible,"What do you know about Zarun?"
Gailen stood shocked that someone would have gathered such courage as to stand in his way. "I know enough that he has been a plague unto this city for far to long. I wish only to cease his existence if not then at least his power. I know only what my master said before he left me. I was told that Zarun is an undead mage. If he was powerful enough to defeat my master then he is a force that needs to be taken care of. If you mean me no harm and have nothing further to say, then I beg urgently of you to step aside and allow me to do what I must." As he stared into the eyes of this mage, it would seem, he could feel the calmness and serenity that flowed through his being. T'would be a shame to lose a man such as himself, this is what I am fighting for, if only he would let me pass so I can properly defend him. He thought. However, having someone stop him aburptly like he did and then tell a joke? It was the first person that he had felt a liking toward. Even more so then his master. The flames on his person began to deminish a bit as his rage was subsided momentarily.
Staring at the mage with twinkling eyes, he was relieved to discover the source of his rage was well directed, although still uncontrolled. Glancing downward at the flames he saw that they had subsided slightly and had taken on a more healthy white blaze, allowing himself to hover back down to earth he pointed to the flames erupting at the mage's feet, "If you keep that up you're going to be very tired in a few hours. If you come down I have extremely important things you should know, the first of which is that it would be suicide to continue on the path you are going, your magic is powerful for someone so young, but terribly un-focused, Zarun would pick you apart. I can assure you this because I've been studying Zarun for close to.." looking desperately at his fingers as if they held some guidance he tried counting the years he had lost track of so long ago,"... ah well years aren't important, what is important is that together, we have a strong chance of beating Zarun. You need to think about what your master would want you to do." Stepping away from the mage he held his arms in the direction of Istaos, "Now if you wish to continue on your path I will not stop you, and I will make sure there are some exquisite flowers that never wilt laid by your grave."
Gailen looked at the man inquisitively. Then he peered at the city with a rage unlike any other. He settled down to the earth and began to walk to the city considering the man's words wisely. As he neared the city gates he peered back at the man who looked back at him intently. Then he stopped and turned back toward the city. "How long did you say you studied Zarun?" He said with a smirk. "I have noticed that you are a fair bit older then I. I do wish to see the fall of this tyrant. However, I do not wish to see my own end as well. Now tell me what you are offering me, be quick now for I feel that here and now may not be the safest place for talk of overturning the rule of someone so wicked." He looked yet again into the eyes of this man and found no reason that he should not trust him, yet.
Once again the urge to chuckle rose again within him, "What I'm offering you young man, is about, umm... shoot, well, at least 600 years of experience that you don't seem to have, I can show you to harness that power that's fallen into your lap, and right you are, this is not the best place to plot. I do beleive we need some apple cider, then we can talk things over, in order for me to teach you, I need to know what you've already been taught. Although our magic is slightly different, I believe you'll find it to your liking to learn the ways of the elements. You may not be able to trust me yet, but take my word, Zarun would kill you if you challenged him now, not that you wouldn't give him a nasty suprise, but I doubt he would walk away with more than some singed eyebrows." Reaching out to young apple tree he murmered to it, and although it was not apple season, several perfect red apples dropped to the ground from somewhere whithin the branches, he would have to risk Zarun sensing him, this new mage must know that he meant no harm. "And besides..." he continued as he gathered the apples in his sack, "... how many evil mages do you know that have made you apple cider? Come now I know a good place we can talk. I will fill you in a bit on Zarun's actions." [[I'm going to write your breif response for you as I'm sure you're ready to go to bed]] Hesitantly he stepped after the mage, looking back at Istaos he bitterly accepted that he couldn't conquer it by himself, this was hard to face as the power that flowed through him made him feel almost invincable. "Well, come along." the strange old man yelled after him. With slight reluctance he fell into pace behind the mage. As they made their way through the woods he noticed that the man wore no shoes, this would prove to be a strange partnership indeed.
“Thank you so much again Mr.-” thanked a woman in rags. ‘Oh I don’t believe I learned your name…” “Oh sorry” replied Xyphos “I forgot to tell you my name, it’s Beleqwaya. And don’t mention it, now then are you sure that you heard from your friends that one of the biggest rebel groups is located in the southeastern district?” “Oh yes my friend said that one of them helped her out of a tough situation. Are you going to be joining them?” she asked innocently “Something like that” Celestin said thoughtfully “Well anyways goodbye.” The lady walked into her house and Xyphos went the opposite way. As he walked away an almost brooding state he took a turn at the first road past several wreckages of stores. Finally finding a little bookstore that had no doubt never been used before in most people’s life. Finding a place that hadn’t been burnt to the ground Celestin sat down. “ Peasents as always are gossips” Celestin smiled “Always talking about this and that willing to tell anyone with a nice smile on anything” suddenly his smile fell away and spoke now in a much more cynical voice “3 major rebel factions, one is in some sort of inn southern district ,dozens of smaller ones, all factions are spread apart, many fight for different causes causing feuds, the person known as Lord Zarun in in the middle of the town supposedly and has magical powers people have never seen before.” Xyphos sighed “ Should I get involved…or not? Is this perhaps a sign from the gods?” Celestin’s voice suddenly oozing sarcasm. “Please Paladine save me from this eternal hell, with all your godly power take me away” spoke a whisper suddenly Celestin *beep*ed his head in surprise. From the walls someone was praying. Celestin paused for a moment before speaking “ Your prayers fall on deaf ears. Now burn you stupid fool.” suddenly from his hands a cone of fire burst over the last remaining bookshelf “Burning Hands” he spoke quietly as the wall burned. Celestin walked out of the store “I suppose I just made my decision…” Celestin thought “ Now then time to put part of my plan into action.” Suddenly the Giant Spider that he had summoned earlier was in front of him. “Attack the southern district, cause as much commotion as you can. I’ll be watching with a scry spell that’s already been put on you. Now get going .” The spider quickly scurried off taking up the entire street. Celestin stared at it’s colossal stature for a moment before continuing down the road.
[[So sorry everyone, but I am going away for 1 week, so I think its best we put this on hold until then, sorry again :(]]

The candles burned to the stub as Zarun scribled furiously in a large book with red velvet covering. Sweat trickled down his forehead, his wrists ached, but his blood flew through his body, the power of magic keeping him strong, and awake. His quill stopped suddenly in the middle of a sentence, he looked out the window, the sun was rising, the army would be here shortly. Again he began to finish up his spells, memorizing the spell for the portal. It was incredily important that he get this right. Just outside the city gates a young elf, Kirandos, scouted out the lands, or atleast what was left of them. Bandits were everywhere, camps had been set up, but they would fall to the might of the Council's army. He turned, heading back to the main body. A small regiment of about five hundred had been sent ahead to clear out the bandits, mainly humans, which made it more odd that they were led by a dwarf. Darin Hammerstrike, a stout dwarf whos talent with his giant hammer led him through the ranks of his own with ease, he was soon apointed Commander in the Grand Council army. The council was a group of all the council races grouped together to form peace throughout the land, or at least peace the way they saw it. The regiment charged into the camps, the sun rising behind them and shining off their bright polished armor, and sharpened blades. With brute force they ran through the camps, burning it all as they went, everyone between them and the city was killed. "Liberate the palace!" Darin hollared to his troops, relaying his commands. They stormed the city, running the fastest route to the palace. Zarun senced the army before he heard it, and then he saw them. Shutting his large book and securing it under his arm he moved to the ward- then paused. The Senator walked beside him, Zarun refrained from a sinsiter grin and moved to the portal. She wore the white robes of Mishakal, and her medalion burnt her skin slightly as she approached the portal. Muttering the incantation and spreading the regents he moved his staff around, it all had to be perfect, or the entire palace would be destroyed, him in it. The words moved off his tounge, the spidery language of magic ignited the portal. "From darkness to darkness, my voice echoes in the emptiness..." a black dragon head animated on the top of the portal, "From this world to the next, my voice cries with life..." another, this time white. "From darkness to darkness, I shout. Beneath my feet, all is made firm..." this one red. "Time that flows, hold in your course..." a blue one appeared. "Because by fate even the gods are cast down, weep ye all with me." finally, the last, a white dragon head. They all screamed in unison, and blended all together, colors of a spectrum unknown flared the room, and all the colors of the world, and yet none at all shone thoughout the palace. The elf maiden grasped her medalion, and together her and Zarun stepped through the portal. [[Be back in 1week's time to explain what went down :P]]
[[I guess it's my turn?]] Sitting with the elf mage he monitered the fire, as the liquid began simmering he added several spices to it and watched it bubble for awhile, as steam began rising off the concoction he leaned in and took a deep breath, "There's magic here young one, think about it, already in the air we have several common, though weak, reagents, mix it with the water and hot air in the steam, and you're several murmered words away from a nasty suprise." He chuckled as he thought back on a time where he had actually tried this, making quite a mess in his masters kitchen. Looking up to see the mage staring quite strangely at him, he decided that it was time to be a little more serious, "I can teach you many things, the balances of nature, air, water, fire, earth, and..." he reached out to a nearby tree. "Life. All the elements control life. Elemental magic is in my opinion the best, we're surrounded by it. where zarun has to take out reagents for the most basic tasks, I can do certain things with only my staff, fire always needs reagents to conjure, it's just it's nature. I need to show you these things, but first you must tell me what you know, and we haven't much time, right now there is quite an army marching towards Zarun, but it will not be enough, they never send enough. This leads me to something you need to face right now, this will not stop in Istaos, we..." he trailed off as he sensed the great disturbance caused by Zarun, a sudden flare, then nothing, like he vanished, something that was odd for him, he tended to stay and wipe out anything that defied him till he was ready to leave. "...interesting, did you feel that?" he turned to the mage, his expression had changed quite a bit, he must have felt something.
[oh wait, he took his turn... Didn't realise, sorry. I was sort of confused with the series of posts.] Killer woke up disorientated and confused. He recalled the nasty blow he received to his head, but nothing afterwards. He saw a man towering over him, for Killer was bound in a chair, if a man it was. A scar ran down the length of his face, and criss-crosses of other cuts intersected with them. No hair was to be seen on its head, and a single eye was open. The man laughed long and loud. "So, he finally wakes. I trust it had a nice sleep." Killer spotted his weapons in the corner. The man followed his gaze, "Ah yes, I see you had a few weapons. Along with a strange device." He picks up the weapon Killer made himself, and aims it at his head. "Now then, let's see what this does, as I trust you won't be able to tell me anything of importance?" Killer kept his mouth shut and shook his head, there was no point prolonging it.
[[I will respond in a little bit....I was originally waiting for Zarun to say hi to me....but ive gotten a bad cut on my thumb and it is making typing very hard AND painful....so im taking it easy right now...]]
[[Alright I am home and will post when the order comes back to me : ) Please everyone post as I am anxious to tie all these stories together.]]
Thomas Deallus waited, still blindfolded by the guard, to recieve word from Lord Zarun. He heard the guard return after a long wait and hoped for the best. "I am terribly sorry but Lord Zarun is not to be disturbed at this time. I will return you to where I first blindfolded you, and if you return again tomorrow I will see if he will see you then." Thomas, discouraged, simply nodded and was led back on a long return journey, through twists and turns to confuse his sense of direction. He was finally given his sight back and found a nearby empty house and sat down there. He removed his swords and placed them at his side, ready in case of danger. He then closed his eyes and thought of all he had passed through to reach this point. He then thought of what he would have to go through in the future if he did finally meet Lord Zarun. Thomas then let his mind wander and in a few moments he fell into a light sleep.
[[omg someone posted again!!! :O I was thinking that it died.]]
[[Awh, I was hoping you would have fought the guard and tried to chase me or something :P]]
[[Is Charlie posting in the past? Like before that giant attack by the Grand Council]]
[[The army went toward the palace and I was near the tower. The guard went to see if Lord Zarun wanted to see me, but he was gone and the army was closing in. Therefore the guard simply sent me away. I did not know what was happening with Zarun or the army coming...It is not like I have any intelligence reports coming to me]]
[[I'm sorry for not posting, i've been on vacation since thursday n got back at three in the morning today. I'll post later today, hopefully after church. Talk to you guys later.]]
Gailen sat for a moment and focused his thoughts. "Yes. I think I felt it. It was like an emptying of power." He sat stiller yet and closed his eyes and cleared his mind. Then spoke, "I can feel it, it came back again. It is a long distance from here, yet it's power is still great. However, due to the distance it seems faint Was that the mage, Zarun?" He sat and looked a bit frightened, but more curious to learn of this mage's power. He had not seen that whatever this mage had in the pot had began to boil. As he longed to learn of this mage he knew he would not get a straight answer. So he went back to what they were previously discussing. "As for your previous question. My old master knew of the elements, but he also taught my regular magic. Some that must be what Zarun uses. However, he never taught me dark magics of any sort. I have become quite a master of the earth element by his studies, but yet I don't see much use of fire or air. As for normal magics, I am quite a mage. I know some high level magic and some extremely long intricate magic that in the end leaves me very drained." [[Sorry it's not to detailed, but I have become very busy with school coming up in 11 days, and all other sorts of things are going on in my family, but I'll try and keep up.]]
[[Lets get this going again shall we]] The fires of the Abyss burned furiously at the black robes of Zarun, he had seen the Abyss before, but only in visions, it was a barren land, where it was impossible to tell the ground from the sky as they blended in uniform nothingness. Zarun saw white robes flutter beside him, and heard the crys of the elf maiden who had been the key to gaining entrence to they Abyss. Zarun landed on his feet with a soft thud, his staff in his right hand ready. The senator hit the ground on her left side with a crash. She moaned in pain, and Zarun smacked her with his staff, forcing her to look at him. "So naive you are, especially for an elf! I would have expected something as low as this from a human. I couldn't have done this without you..." he said as he walked away from her shatered soul, and shattered body.
Zarun sat before the portal, and read his incantation from his memory, he did not need any materials in the Abyss, magic was abundant here. The flames around the portal jumped and shadows danced around the walls, the ground began to shake. Before Zarun was finished, the portal came to life. But it was activated from the other end, the ground shook furiously and the tower threatened to topple. The undead minions below scattered as Takhisis apporached in her glorry. Out of the portal stepped a man cloaked in black, the robes flowed into the shadows and the fire, and it was not clear where the shadows began and he ended. Zarun bowed his head in reverence. "Nuitari..." he whispered. Chemosh gave the young god a scowl. "What are you doing here! You will get us all killed! Move from the portal now child!" Chemosh went to push the young god out of the way to allow Zarun to continue his spell. "I can not do that Chemosh, I have been speaking with Zivilyn, and there is little chance that your plans will sucseed, Takhisis will enter Krynn once more, and this time there will be no one to stop here." Zarun's heart raced, it couldn't end here, no, it wouldn't end here... not without a fight. "Then we will kill her here, now." Chemosh spoke his very thoughts. With a powerful thrust into the air Nuitari destroyed the top of the tower, letting them see the powerful five headed dragon flying straight towards them. Nuitari rose into the air, turning the land to night, his immortal blood flowed strong, tonight he would kill his mother once and for all. Chemosh commanded his new undead legions to rise up and fight the demons of the Abyss commanded by Takhisis. Zarun rose his staff into the air and chanted "Talkarpas ang shirak" chain lightning evelopped the goddess. Nuitari set fire to the very air around her and laughed as the land was envelopped in fire. Chemosh's minions below faught the queens evil legions as Chemosh tried to work the portal for an escape. Takhisis rage was beyond words, the land of the Abyss began to crack and fire erupted from newly created fissures. The tower began to crumble and her anger began to destroy the lands around her. The portal sprung to life as Chemosh finished his spell, as the land began to collapse in on itself the gods knew they would all perish if they did not leave. Chemosh was especially greedy and ran into the portal, escaping to the mortal world unharmed, Nuitari was more focused on killing his mother. "Zarun! Help me! Together we will rid this world of Takhisis!" "Dasin Filinda!!" Zarun sent many magical missiles at the Dark Queen and sent her rearing, but she was only more angered and flew out from the flames and the smoke straight towards the portal. "Nuitari! We must leave else Takhisis will escape and we will perish here in the Abyss!" Nuitari looked to the portal, and nodded. Zarun and Nuitari entered the portal, followed by the great five headed dragon. The city of Istaos had been free of Zarun's wrath for only moments before it all came crashing back. The only undamaged place of the city was the palace, and it was soon destroyed. Soldiers had the place surrounded, and they were just investigating the portal when it came to life. They drew their swords and called for their mages to investigate it. "Come quick!" they shouted, and then all hell broke loose, or Abyss, to be politaclly correct. Flames burst through the portal as Chemosh entered, the Palace was blown to shreds and hordes of undead leaked through the portal. The explosion was intence, it was a massive fireball hundreds of feet into the air. And then Zarun, Nuitari, and Takhisis herself emmerged. The portal remained open as the Immortal world was mixed with the Mortal world. "What have I done, Zarun whispered to himself as Takhisis stood in the sky as the Beautiful Warrior in her dark armor, looking over the world like her playground.
[[I'm assuming Takhisis is on the "good" side :S not sure tho so my post wont be very long]] He felt dark power begin pouring back into Istaos, and turned around in time to see quite an explosion, the force of the wind pushing his hair back breifly, he understood now. He looked at the young mage, he was more experienced than he had first believed, but he knew little of the power of his staff, and of himself. "The time I believed we had has suddenly ran short" he stared at the mage with intensity, "Because of this you will have to trust me, Zarun has made a deal with the gods, and it can only end in disaster." glancing back at what was left of Istaos he continued, "the gods are a bit tempermental." he shuffled around in his bag, giving the mage a very old worn peice of paper, "Read this, memorize it, and recite it every 3 finger movement of the sun, or sooner, this will allow our powers to merge, with our powers chanelled together with my experience, we will make an unexpecting Zarun very surprised should he underestimate us at all, I'm not quite sure what gods have come down upon Istaos, but we need to move, we will be able to do much more without being detected with a tear in the sky reaking magic." He pulled the elf closer to him and swung his arm in a sweeping motion below him, the ground rose and lurched forward, carrying them to the nearby mountains.
[[Wasn't I supposed to go after DD??]]
[I quit. I'll kill myself off later, go ahead who ever is next]
[[And Takhisis is on the I WILL *beep*ING KILL YOU SIDE. She's the main god of evil.]]
[[lol ok, sounds kinda unstopable, I believe I'ma have to release an earth/fire god or somethin to even things out :D]]
“*beep*” Xyphos thought quietly I’ve got trouble. Those damn *beep*s from the grand council have finally decided to act and just when my plan was beginning to start. Ugh this is really problematic” Celestin finished sounding annoyed “Well I might as well see how my spider is doing” he continued. Celestin’s hands began to search through his pocket until he found the reagents he was looking for. “Ah here’s the herb I was looking for, knew I had it somewhere” spoke Celestin as he threw it in the air and he began his incantation “Now sit in thought, in meditation, Lost in mind, in concentration, Wait for the victim that you desire, and Mine eyes shall see” he chanted quietly. When Xyphos again opened his eyes he saw soldiers surrounding him. Or to be more exact they were surrounding his spider. The fight was going on in a market place, taking a glance around this wasn‘t the only fight going on, in fact several skirmishes were happening at the same time. One of the people who surrounded the spider ,perhaps an officer, yelled something and they charged. It only took a few minutes for the last of the soldiers to be crushed by the giant spider. Smirking a little bit Xyphos stood up and put his hands over the scry to turn it off. He glanced almost nonchalantly at the road and saw a man with the. Xyphos’s eye’s widened as he saw it. Their were several flashes of lightning and the spider was burnt to the crisp in moments Xyphos stepped back from his scry spell surprised by the appearance of several strong Battle-mage’s. He picked an apple from the nearby tree, it was rather surprising that anything was left in this city that could bear fruit. If nothing else it was amusing. “Hey theirs a person over their” yelled someone. Celestin’s head *beep*ed further down the road. A company of 100 or so troops were heading down the road. Judging by the armor of some of them they were lead by several paladins and a few wizards. “I asked who you were so that we may cleanse you!” the man shouted obviously a paladin. Smiling a little Celestin got up and took off his hood completely. His face was one of a kind. The tone of his skin was unearthly pale. Almost white and his eye’s were blue while his hair was brown. It was striking and a face of extremes, the moment that anyone saw it they would recognize it as the face on the posters. “It’s him that Xyphos Celestin!” yelled one of the people their “Whats he doing here” shouted another. “It doesn’t matter why he’s here we have to kill him! Activate Aura‘s” Yelled a paladin the final part echoed by several others. Celestin took his sword out as they yell these words and threw his reagents into the air whispering spells as he spoke spells of protection. It had only taken 10 minutes for the last of the paladins to die, after all battles with strong mages were always notoriously short. Of course none of this was going through the head of one Glash Relard. A normal boy who had grown up thinking the army was a place of grandeur. The moment he became 18 he joined the Grand Council’s army. This was the first time he would be seeing action. And as he watched some of his comrades actually get close enough to touch Celestin he saw them killed easily with a simple flourish. A normal enough kid. But a proud one and as he prayed to Paladine, he picked up his sword and let out a scream and charged towards Celestin. He opened his eye’s again, expecting to be dead but what he saw shocked him. His sword had run through Xyphos Celestin. “Hmm not bad” spoke Celestin to the shocked Glash “But you might want to work on your skills. If my power hadn’t fluctuated like that I would’ve torn you up” with a vague smile Celestin Lost consciousness. Glash was frozen in place for minutes as he started at the limp figure beneath him. l “What the hell happened here” yelled soldiers coming down the street. [[I’m not dead this will just help me better explain my powers and goal. Also I’ll be taken to the headquarters/where the commander is. Wherever that might be. Oh and sorry about not posting, vacation makes it really hard to post.]]
