Healer. Heal other troops. Wizard(mage... whatever you want to call it). Casts magic, and makes staffs for themselves. You need to find a gem to put on top of the staff to make it stronger, i.e. emerald, jade, etc. I will say if you find a gem while digging in the mines, or find one elsewhere. You can also buy them. Bowyer. Makes bows(and arrows, and other ranged weapons. Makes wooden shields as well) Furnacer. Makes metal from ores. Smith. Makes weapons and shields(no armour) from metals.
Ok, have 3 PMs of where people want to start. Need another two. Killer Killer stands at 6 foot high, and carries an oaken staff, for hopefully some use in the future. He also carries a beautiful sword of mithril, hindered by no gems. It's handle is of steel. he carries also a 5 and a half foot yew bow.
Ok, more about weapons now. First the metals though... Copper can be used to make weapons. 10 ore make one piece of copper(metal). Bronze, an alloy of tin and copper can make weapons also. 5 tin ore and 5 copper ore make one piece of bronze(metal). Iron can be used to make weapons. 10 iron ore make one piece of iron(metal). Steel can be used to make weapons, made from coal and iron. 5 iron ore and 5 coal ore make one piece of steel(metal). Mithril can be used to make weapons. 10 mithril ore make one piece of mithril(metal). Only metal can be be made into weapons. Also, tree. All trees can be made into bows and arrows and shields etc.(whatever weapons are made from wood) Now, the long part... the weapons... You can buy any weapon in towns and the city, and sometimes in villages. They are various prices. But, as for what you need to make them... and who you need to make them... *sigh* Whenever I say tree, you can use any type of tree, but they have to be all the same type of tree to make that one weapons, and they are stronger as you go down the list in previous posts, i.e. rowan, oak, maple, willow, yew, yew being the strongest, rowan the weakest(I don't care if it's right or not) Sorry, have to go, will finish this later.
Might Has a large staff with a large black gem on top. 6 "3" Has a nice robe. Mithril Sword on his hip.
Right, back... Now... Gems(on order of value, and most power for staffs, from least to most) (these are specific varities, and also forgive me if they aren't in order of most preciousness, but this is for magic, and no-one can say to me with any certain basis, what gem is most magical :P) Emerald - Apprentice and above Ametyst - Illusionist and above Opal - Magician and above Sapphire - Mage and above Ruby - Wizard The titles of the various stages of magic dudes are shown in which they can put gems in a staff. It takes a day for any gem and any type of tree. Now, the long part... the weapons... You can buy any weapon in towns and the city, and sometimes in villages. They are various prices. But, as for what you need to make them... and who you need to make them... *sigh* Whenever I say tree, you can use any type of tree, but they have to be all the same type of tree to make that one weapons, and they are stronger as you go down the list in previous posts, i.e. rowan, oak, maple, willow, yew, yew being the strongest, rowan the weakest(I don't care if it's right or not) Same with metals, from weakest to strongers = copper, bronze, iron, steel, mithril. Favoured weapons are the best weapon to use with a race(generally, they can be poor weapons, just that the race likes them) The level of the skill is also given, and the order of the metals and trees also depend on the level of the skilled troop(higher levels, can of course, do the lower levels as well), i.e. apprentice - rowan/copper, journey-man - oak/bronze, master - maple & willow/ iron & steel, grand-master - yew/ mithril. Metals and tree, if in the same weapon, must be in level with accordance to each other i.e. rowan - copper, oak - bronze, maple - iron, willow - steel, yew - mithril. Non-skilled troops can make... Club(basic weapon of wood, thicker on one side than the other) - 10 tree(favoured weapon of trolls). Spiked Club(same as above, with a few bits of metal sticking out at the top) - 10 tree + 20 metal(also favoured weapon of trolls). Mages can make... Any level Staff - 10 tree Level- Depends... Staff with gem on the top - 10 tree + Gem. Bowyers can make... Apprentice Slingshot - 5 tree(halflings favoured weapon) Arrows(ammo for bows) - 1 tree(may as well be sharpened from the piece of wood itself, can do enough damage) Journey-man Short-bow - 10 tree Round shield - 15 tree Master Long-bow - 20 tree(the smaller races, halfling, dwarf, orc, and gnome cannot use these, but instead have better short-bows)(favoured weapon of elves) Grand-master Wooden buckler(type of shield, better than a round shield) - 20 tree Smiths can make... Apprentice Knives(to throw mainly) - 10 metal Dagger(more to stab) - 10 metal Axe(for cutting trees) - 5 metal + 5 tree Pick-axe(for mining) - 5 metal + 5 tree Small round-shield - 10 metal Journey-man Dirk(long dagger) - 15 metal Hatchet(can also be used for cutting trees, but also has a hammer-head) - 10 metal + 5 tree Cutlass(sword) - 20 metal Rapier(sword) - 20 metal Metal buckler - 20 metal Cross-bow - 10 metal + 15 tree(favoured weapon of orcs) Master Sabre(sword) - 25 metal Longsword - 30 metal(humans favoured weapon) Large metal round-shield - 30 metal Grand-master Battle-axe - 25 metal + 10 tree(favoured weapon of the dwarfs) Kite shield - 50 metal Slyánch(a type of sword I made up, difficult even for a Grand-master to make, and he must lose a lot of metal in the process of making it, if you were wondering why it seemed so high. It is actually a well-made blade, and fairly light, (around 3 pounds) but strong. It is longer reaching than the other swords, and stronger also, depending on the metal in each case, and more manuevarable, such is the genius of their make) - 100 metal That took a while... Next, I shall give the time it takes to make each weapons, whenever that may be...
Ok... I'm still waiting for a PM from Revenge and Erunion... The sooner I get this started the sooner you'll see how easy it is. Now for how long it takes to make each weapon... Add one day for each different type of tree and metal. i.e. Rowan - +0 days, Oak - +1 day, Maple, - +2 days, Willow - +3 days, Yew - +4 days & Copper - +0 days, Bronze - +1 day, Iron - +2 days, Steel - +3 days, Mithril - +4 days. For each level above the required level, take one day from it, min. of one day. E.g. For a Grand-master smith to make a mithril dirk(journey-man) it takes +4 days as it's mithril, and -2 days as a Grand-master is making it, bringing it to 7 days. Non-skilled troops Club - 3 days Spiked Club - 5 days Mages Staff - 1 day Staff with gem on the top - 2 days (1 day to make the staff and another to add the gem. You can make a staff at any time and add a gem any amount of days since you made the staff) Bowyers Slingshot - 1 day Arrows(ammo for bows) - You can make up to 5 a day per Bowyer, but he can't do anythin else is you don't make all 5. Short-bow - 3 days Round shield - 3 days Long-bow - 7 days Wooden buckler - 10 days Smiths Knives - 1 day Dagger - 1 day Axe - 2 days Pick-axe - 2 days Small round-shield - 3 days Dirk - 3 days Hatchet - 4 days Cutlass - 5 days Rapier - 5 days Metal buckler - 5 days Cross-bow - 5 days Sabre - 6 days Longsword - 7 days Large metal round-shield - 7 days Battle-axe - 7 days Kite shield - 8 days Slyánch - 10 days
[Do we start with a few axes and pickaxes provided or with some resources to make them?]
You will start with a few axes and pick-axes.
Im sorry killer, Im just very confused lol
Come on Revenge and Erunion... I have explained EVERYTHING about this rp, finally. Apart from one single last thing... building. But that can wait...
Ok, all you have to do is look at the map, say where you want your army to be, as long as it's a green square with nothing else, and say, say H8. I'll explian everything as we go along again, apart from some things which you'll have to look back at. All the instructions are nearly in the first page, with a few in this second one.
Aw, crud. My messages were deleted. Errrmmm... can you just post your positions on the map here?
I think I wanted H2 please...
I want E5 | ||||
Right, if you haven't posted by tomorrow, I'm assigning you places on the map. You can also ally with other people if you so wish.
F3 | ||||
just realized that I have no time, so count me out for now.
Well, because of the game going completely, I couldn't get on. I'll give you until later today to post your positions.
Now, how to start off. I won't start until tomorrow, but you can post what your troops do. 10 food per troop(+1 for halfling)(+2 beside a lake, -2 beside a mountain 1 stone per troop 0.05 recruits per troop Tree...(trolls get a 0.1 bonus) 5 rowan per troop 3 oak per troop 2 maple per troop 1 willow per troop 0.1 yew per troop Ore...(dwarfs get a 0.1 bonus) 5 tin per troop 5 copper per troop 3 iron per troop 1 coal per troop 0.1 mithril per troop And troops eat 1 food each... You start off with 10 axes, and 10 pickaxes, 100 gold, and 100 troops apart from your commander. You can hire a skilled person if you so which, and you have to pay them until you run out of money, or don't want them anymore. They can train all the time. I will fix the map tomorrow, so you can see where you are. Just do something like this for the moment.(Don't all copy me, please. Use your race advantages) You can use them to train your troops or make things, as long as you have the required materials for them to do so. Price of hiring. You can only do this at the start on any square, you have to go into towns to hire skilled persons(though they mighn't be there necessarily) This is per day Healer - Apprentice, Twaza, Cleric, Sangoma, Healer 10 gold 15 gold 20 gold 30 gold 50 gold Wizard - Apprentice, Illusionist, Magician, Mage, Wizard 10 gold 25 gold 40 gold 50 gold 75 gold Bowyer - Apprentice, Journey-man, Master, Grand-master 10 gold 20 gold 25 gold 40 gold Furnacer - Apprentice, Journey-man, Master, Grand-master 10 gold 20 gold 25 gold 40 gold Smith - Apprentice, Journey-man, Master, Grand-master 10 gold 25 gold 35 gold 50 gold I, myself, am doing this... Hiring: Grand-Master Bowyer for 40 gold a day.(dismiss whenever you want to dismiss skilled troops) Troops: 19 collecting food, + 209 food total. 1 troop being trained by Grand-Master Bowyer 80 troops recruiting, +4 troops a day. Items: 100 gold, 10 axes, 10 pick-axes.(I'll add and take away tomorrow, when we're starting)
20 troops mining | ||||
You might want to change that... You can only mine in the mountains, and get wood in forests. You can only train one troops per skilled troop as well, but you can train them one after the other.
And if you don't get food your troops will starve. For every troop you don't have food for, they die.
I have; 20 soldiers getting food (200per day) 60 recruiting (3 soldiers per day) 10 chopping Rowan trees (50) 10 mining Iron (30) Items: 100 gold. Axes and Pickaxes are being used
Ummm... I'll post the map again later, and it'll show yur positions. You can get your troops and stuff ready tomorrow. I repeat myself, more clearly this time hopefully... You can only get tree in forests, and only get ore in mountains, depending on your position on the map. It has to be on the square that you are on. You get more food in lake squares. Travelling: On the map, you can travel, but can't do anything other then move while travelling, and your troops still have to eat. So you have to save up food to do this, and it takes a day to move to an adjoining square, horizontally or vertically, not diagonally. Villages, towns & city: In villages, towns and cities, you can't collect resources, and so have to bring your food with you, or buy it in the town. You can hire skilled persons here, (you can hire them in other places, but only if you stumble across them, and I'll say whether you do or not) but they mightn't be all there. If you ask what skilled troops are in a town, I'll tell you, and what price they are to be hired at. You can't fight another army in a village, town or city, well, you can, but if you do, the troops in the village, town and city will fight too.
[Oh ok. Sry for my mistake then. A day is 24 hours or 1 hr like in-game?] [Is this good?] I have; 20 soldiers getting food (200per day) 60 recruiting (3 soldiers per day) 10 travelling East 1 square to collect wood. 10 travelling south 2 squares to collect ore.
Items: 100 gold. Axes and Pickaxes are being used
Ermmm... no... sorry. And a day is a day, not an hour. You can't expect me to be that active... Another thing, your company of troops HAVE to stay together. I'm not really making things clear, am I? Now, I want you to put it like this... Commander:(This is where what skills s/he's learned goes, and what s/he is learning.) Troops:(This is where the number of troops go, and what they are skilled in. Remember, each troop can only be skilled in one skill each) Hired troops:(this is where you say who you are hiring, skill and level, and for how much per day. You can't hire ordinary troops, nor use hired troops in battle) Troops working:(This is where you say what you're troops are doing, and if they're gathering resources, say how much in total. Skilled troops aren't counted here, but you can't make them work as well as train, or make or do something) Weapons-making, troop training:(This is where you put what skilled troops are making, and being trained, or training another troop) Items:(where you're resources and other items(technically all resources) such as weapons go) Sample errr... thingamobob. This is just some random thing put in it, more in a later stage of the game) Commander: Illusionist(Wizard), Master(Smith), Training as an apprentice furnacer, 2 more days Troops: 500, 2 apprentice bowyers, 3 master bowyers, 7 journey-man smiths, 3 healers, 4 mages, 2 wizards.(Doesn't include Commander) Hired troops: Grand-master Smith for 70 gold a day, Wizard for 100 gold a day, Master Furnacer for 40 gold a day Troops working: 50 gathering food,+ 500 food, 300 recruiting, + 15 troops, 80 troops gathering rowan, +400 rowan, 50 troops gathering oak, + 150 oak) Weapon-making, troop training: 2 mages training by wizards(5 more days, 3 more days), 3 non-skilled troops training to be apprentice bowyers by master bowyers(1 day all) 3 axes being made(2 more days, 2 more days, 1 more days), 4 pick-axes being made(2 more days, 2 more days, 2 more days, 1 more day) Items: 1,000 food, 100 tin ore, 200 copper ore, 500 mithril ore, 100 mithril metal, 10,000 iron metal, 2,000 steel metal, 10,000 rowan, 5,000 oak, 1,000 yew, 50 axes, 500 iron longswords, 10,000 gold. It won't be this complicated, probably, ever. Here's another one, simpler... Commander: Apprentice smith Troops: 100, 10 apprentice bowyers, 1 apprentice smith Hired Troops: None Troops working: 20 gathering food, +200 food, 40 gathering tin ore, + 200 tin ore, 40 gathering copper ore, +200 copper ore. Weapon-making, troop training: None Items: 800 copper ore, 800 tin ore, 400 food VERY IMPROTANT(which, admittedly, I didn't mention...): Axes and pick-axes don't need to have a better metal and wood to make them better, so you may as well only make copper axes, and pick-axes, and they can't be used in war. So, just call them axes and pick-axes, no need for metals predeseccing the name Will post map next post.
Bugger, I made a mistake earlier. That should have been F6. Yellow Flag = Revenge Grey Flag = Wraith(ish) Purple Flag = Might Orange Flag = Ben White Flag = Killer ... Black Flag = Invaders, mostly made up of orcs, trolls, humans and golems, but with a light sprinkling of other races. They seek to overthrow the king in the city, and they are currently 500 men strong, and well equipped. I'd advise you to stay out of their way, though you can join youe men and you up with them if you REALLY wnat to, but I'd advise against it. They're trying to do an impossible task, at least for a mere 500 men. Their leader is Hygorithalican, an orc, but this could change, as they fight a lot. Travelling = when you want to move somewhere, and you should have enough food to get to where you want, say where you want to go, and I'll update the map.
[Is your Commander automatically an Apprentice at his chosen profession?]
No, he has to train to get it. And he can have all the professions if he wishes, just other troops can't.
I suppose I've made this over-complicated. Ah well, can't really get rid of it... Here's what I'm doing at any rate. Commander: Training as an apprentice bowyer by grand-master bowyer.(1 more day) Troops: 100 troops, skilled in nothing. Hired troops: Grand-master bowyer, 40 gold a day. Troops working: 80 troops rectruiting, +4 troops, 20 troops gathering food, +220 food. Weapons-making, troop training: None Items: 100 gold, 10 pick-axes, 10 axes.
Commander: Training as an apprentice bowyer by grand-master bowyer.(1 more day) 60 troops rectruiting, +3 troops, 20 troops gathering food, +220 food. 10 troops cutting Rowan, + 50 Rowan 10 troops march to nearest mountain to mine iron, +30
Ummmm... Ok... I'll go through why that is wrong. I really amn't making things clear with my trillion posts... Firstly, you are not a halfling, and don't get my bonus. With 20 troops you only 200 food. Secondly, you can't split up your troops. Thirdly, you have to be ON a forest square to get tree, not just beside it. That goes for mining too, you have to be ON a mountain square to get the ores.
Oh sorry. Let me try again. I thought I got a bonus from the lake. Commander: Training as an apprentice bowyer by grand-master bowyer.(1 more day) Grand-master bowyer, 40 gold a day. 80 troops rectruiting, +4 troops, 20 troops gathering food, +200 food. [I hope I got it right this time round]
Yep. You get a +2 food bonus from the lake each day though, not 1, and you only get it if you are on the square.
[My mistake. Btw how long does it take to travel 1 square?]
| ||||
1 day. I'll give everyone until tomorrow to post what their troops are doing, then I'll kill all their troops if they haven't...
[Is anyone still playing this?]
Nope... Everyone dies, Wraith wins.
