One of Erunion's search crews had stopped in a bar, ostensibly to 'look for information amongst the undesirables of the area'.
As they were drinking drinks in the bar, one of the (now rather inebriated) NCO's decided that hitting on the Bartendress would be a good idea. As he started flirting with her, he found out her name and proceeded to pass out.
His friends, thinking it was from an excess of alcohol consumption brought him back to their quarters.
When he awoke, several hours later with a severe headache, they thought their suspicions confirmed. However, as he came to lucidity, they found out the truth.
The bartendress was Hosta Serilon, one of the people they were searching for. The headache was explained by an impressive bump on the reverse side of his head, and a mild concussion.
In the morning, the six squad members returned to the bar, found out her address by the liberal usage of the authority vested in them by the government of the Erusion Empire, and proceeded to go to her residence. There, after a brief interview, they told her what had happened to her brother (currently head of the fleet), she proceeded to display extreme ranges of emotion as she heard the news and told them what had happened to her other sibling and her parents.

Hosta Serilon is currently on a government chartered space craft for fleet high command, and the entire 501st legion (which is currently attached to the 5th fleet) was dispatched to outer-rim mining colony of Grostalia...

As he circles his home planet, he is messaged
He is needed in a conference, his ship powers and jumps too hyper space..

After a month of conquest, Septim the Dragonheart finally conquers the last remaining Vermonthian colonies, with that done he decides to give his men a one year break from wars and violence so they can go back to their families.

Gorris Septim II leads his squadron to the location of Gorris Vosoloth and the tenth fleet. Gorris finds it disgusting that such a rebel shares his name.

"Send word to the fifth fleet, the third fleet, and the seventh fleet that we have found Vosoloth at coordinates 65432123, 434231234, 43232342432, quick...", says Gorris.

Rex sends a message and it is soon off.

Charley was not involved in the combat with Gorris Vosoloth since he was still organizing his new Grey Squadron and gathering members for his group.  He was using modified fighters that would focus more on mobility and quick hitting than strong armor. 

Even against average enemy fighters it really only took about 1 hit anyway to be blown apart, so why worry about that excess armor that wouldnt save you? 

Charley was planning on hit and run and also carrying the big guns in quickly.
