THE VILLAGE - THE NEW WORLD
16:42:11 Jan 29th 09 - Prince Valan Septim:

[[OOC: I'm guessing it has been a month or so...]]

As Septim was walking around the camp with his newfound agility (due to his now fully healed leg), he noticed that a new baby horse was being born. He quickly ran into the stable, and with his vast knowledge of horses due to his long career as a cavalry officer (and a ranch-hand in his teenage years), he helped deliver the horse safely. After making sure that the beastmaster knew what he was doing, Septim left and continued his patrol.

16:59:54 Jan 29th 09 - Mr. Electric:

[[OOC: Baby horses are cute!]]

Electric wondered where his farmers were that had run off into the forest. He watched as a new pony tried to walk, but only stumbled around the stable.

17:21:01 Jan 29th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

Demonsul would have accepted the idea for this kon-creat substance anyway, but Electric had, quite literally, taken the idea and ran with it. He allocated the new population to tain and become scholars, to help him.

19:16:45 Jan 29th 09 - Sir Hirgon Sadron:

Hirgon's scouting expeditions all returned several days later than expected, and the parties staggered into the village one by one over the course of two days.  They had traveled through some difficult terrain, and found good places for farms, homes, defensive positions, and the like.

Hirgon considered Wilber's proposal.  "We can definitely do that for covering open land, as well as sp*beep* forests.  Much of the island is dense forests and swampy land, so for that territory we'll still have to use men on foot."

20:52:58 Jan 29th 09 - Mr. Killer:

Stats
Population - 1,030(1% per day)
Buildings - Timber cabins, Barracks, Wooden palisades
Food - Enough for 2 days, not making any as of yet.
Health - The population is mostly healthy, a tiny portion are sick with a highly contagious, but not too dangerous unless unattented for a few weeks, disease(25 people, Wraith, Electric? Might want to cure some of them)
Employment - 10 unemployed, 90 infantry, 40 guards, 50 cavalry, 40 archers, 5 mages, 15 scholars(10 in training, 7 days), 230 farmers, 430 labourers, 80 blacksmiths, 50 beastmasters.
Animals - 52 horses(1 juvennile, 1 baby), 75 leppits(21 juvennile ones, 23 baby ones)

Concrete will take another day to research, farms, pipes and stuff another two days. Ponies are small horses, not young ones.

The Rilps struck again, stealing a day's worth of food(concrete won't stop them either, but it will slow them down. Besides, there are no food warehouses). So, you miltary chaps might want to kill them, or develop better ways of stopping them.

[Sorry Hirgon, forgot]The scouts reported back successfully, the came to the edge of a large area of swamp land, and then headed back. One was bitten by a large hedgehog-like creature, and a lot of others were stung. They brought some fruit back, but are unsure whether they are edible or not.(I'm working on a map)

20:58:46 Jan 29th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

Demonsul called Electric in urgently. "I thought I made this clear, but I guess I forgot. Start setting up farms! Use the seeds we brought, or find some, I don't care! We may have a food crisis on our hands if we don't hurry!"

Later, Demonsul ordered all the police/guards to guard the food supplies and kill Rilps on sight.

21:19:49 Jan 29th 09 - Prince Valan Septim:

Septim relayed the orders to his men, and within ten minutes, the food storages were well guarded and secure. Many rilps died, but they added to the food supply.

[[OOC: XD]]

21:22:32 Jan 29th 09 - Sir Hirgon Sadron:

[[OOC: No problem, Electric.  I was planning on RPing in some events while scouting and really didn't expect you to do anything.  I haven't had the energy to do anything creative here these past few days.]]

Hirgon sends his less-adept archers into the fields and surrounding woodlands to search for any of the Rilp's predators.  "If we can domesticate the beast's natural predator," Hirgon said to the Beastmaster, "we can keep the Rilps away and use the men guarding the foodstuffs elsewhere."

21:37:10 Jan 29th 09 - Mr. Killer:

[I've "finished"(that is, finished it for the mo') the world map. Does anyone know how you make it sort of zoom in on places when you add it to imageshack? I'm currently working on the village part.]

22:31:14 Jan 29th 09 - Mr. Electric:

[[OOC: It auto zooms if you bring it up in another window]]

22:35:29 Jan 29th 09 - Mr. Electric:

"Demonsul, you are not aware how hard it is to research these stupid farms!" Electric screamed back, then he stormed out of the room. "All right you lazy slobs, see those banana trees? Bring 100 laborers with you and PICK EVERY BANANA YOU SEE! KILL ANYTHING THAT TRIES TO STEAL EVEN ONE BANANA! All of you except 50 farmers pick the bananas. The remaining 50, go into the shrubs and kill anything that would be considered food."

Electric walked up to Septim. "Have you forgotten about that stupid substance I made on the ship? USE IT AGAINST THE KILPS! I can tell it will sting them badly.." said Electric, his voice trailing off.

22:55:29 Jan 29th 09 - Sir Hirgon Sadron:

Hirgon watched the eximprovements with amusement, holding back a smile as the workers wondered how they were going to pick bananas from apple trees.  He then gathered the 19 men who had scouted with him and held a quiet conference.

The archers who found the berries handed them to Electric to examine and test.

Hirgon approaches Wilber later that day.  "How many horses do we have available?  I'd like to send out ten groups of four men each, at least for now, all on horseback.  They won't go far - the ride should only take a couple of hours - but the task I have planned for them may take several days."

01:15:45 Jan 30th 09 - Mr. Stickman:

Alphonse Stein was a young beastmaster among the ranks. He is very skilled, and is the personal apprentice of Lanoc.  Tall, slender, and eager to please, he took interest in solving the new settlement's problems. He gathered 10 beastmasters, and ordered them to scout the surrounding area for the Rilp's predator. Knowing that even the most naive of beastmasters would be more affective then those silly archers. He then went on a personal study on the recent disease that had been plaguing  the settlement. Approaching Electric's tent, he heard yelling, and decided against asking him for additional scholars to help find a natural cure. Instead, he requested the help of the scholars from demonsul.

01:18:02 Jan 30th 09 - Mr. Electric:

Electric walked up to his men and punched 3 of them in the jaw. "You *beep*s, those are apple trees! The banana trees are over there!" said Electric pointing. He brought the berries in to study by himself, since his scholars were all busy.

14:29:55 Jan 30th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

Demonsul sat back, wacthing the madness unfold. "God, I run a colony full of *beep*s," he said, before quickly redefining the number of *beep*s to one Electric.

After a while, Demonsul had a conference with a young beastmaster called Alphonse. Demonsul was intrigued, but he had not heard about this 'disease'. "Fine, ask Electric if you want to borrow his scholars. I hope you can remove this disease before it enters the public eye."

Later, Demonsul met Electric, and very firmly ordered him to start some proper farms.

14:51:31 Jan 30th 09 - Sir Wilberforce Pwner:

Wilber, laying down in his hammock, within his new wooden cabin, with beach view (that he had "rented" from some unemployed who wouldn't use it anyway!) was approached by Hirgon. Upon him asking a question, Wilber smiled, oppened his eyes and sat up.

"We have fifty grown horses at our disposal. However, I would of liked to keep 15 incase an emergency unfolds. I'm guessing in these groups of four, two would be archers and two of my cavalry men?"

Wilber lays back down, shutting his eyes.

"Fine, take however many horses you need. You said you'd only be a few hours. Lets keep it that way."

15:38:19 Jan 30th 09 - Mr. Electric:

"I tiold you Demonsul, I CANNOT make farms! It will be another 2 days, and I'm studying the fruit to see if it's edible! Stop wasting time!" Electric said, walking off to his cabin.

15:48:01 Jan 30th 09 - Prince Valan Septim:

"Disrespectful swine!" yelled Septim before turning to Demonsul, "I can kill him if you want...chop his head clean off..."

16:43:11 Jan 30th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

Demonsul thought, then turned to Septim. "It's an option, but first, we need to see if he can actually come up with the farms. As he is currently failing miserably and we have an approaching food crisis, I want you to send all the spare forces out and kill any beasts you find. Bring them back for examination, and if they are edible, add them to the stockpile. We can get a few cataloged beasts that way, too."

17:28:19 Jan 30th 09 - Mr. Stickman:

Alphonse lay in his crude hut contimplating his next course of action.

I wanted to cure this disease as fast as possible, but Electric seems so overburdened..

As he thought, two of the ten beastmasters who were sent scouting entered the hut. They explained that they may have found the Rilps natural preditor. Intrigued, he read the report immediately.

Pythos: A semi-large snake that seems to feed primarely on Rilps. It is from two to three feet long in adulthood, and is covered in large black spots that seem to resemble arrows. It is primarely brown, and is reportedly not aggressive tword humans. We have observed the snake enter a Rilps hole, and divour eight to nine Rilps in a matter of minutes. It feeds every two days, and has great potential for tameing.

After reading the report, Alphonse immediately sent word to Demonsul. He also ordered the ten beastmasters to brief 10 more beastmasters on the snake. Then all twenty were to set about training and breading the snakes. He also sends a request to Electric for the help of five scholars regarding the disease and the possible Rilps solution.

[[ Sorry, i dont have spell check on this computer XD]]

17:37:55 Jan 30th 09 - Mr. Electric:

"All right, since Demonsul is in one of his moods, all of you come with me. We're going to fish! I've seen schools wth 100's of fish in them. Here are some harpoons that I found on the boat," said Electric, handing all of them a harpoon.

17:43:45 Jan 30th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

Some of the scholars were open mouthed at Electric's words, but this was not out of loyalty. Turning, Electric found that Demonsul was standing right behind him. "Moods, you say? I'll be sure to work on that," said Demonsul sarcastically. "While you are so busy fishing, see if you can dredge up some of the supplies that fell overboard while we were landing. If you get them, they contain farming supplies, and should help speed you along with your assignment."

Later, Demonsul received word from Alphonse about the pythos. He immediatley went to Alphonse's cabin and congratulated him. "With any luck, we wont need to worry about feeding the entire Rilps population any longer. You have done well. Keep this up, and you might be facing promotion."

18:57:45 Jan 30th 09 - Mr. Killer:

Stats
Population - 1,040(1% per day)
Buildings - Timber cabins, Barracks, Wooden palisades, Forge, Town hall
Food - Enough for 4 days, not making any as of yet.
Health - The population is mostly healthy, a tiny portion are sick with a highly contagious, but not too dangerous unless unattented for a few weeks, disease(31 people, Wraith, Electric? Might want to cure some of them)
Employment - 20 unemployed, 90 infantry, 40 guards, 50 cavalry, 40 archers, 5 mages, 15 scholars(10 in training, 6 days), 230 farmers, 430 labourers, 80 blacksmiths, 50 beastmasters.
Animals - 52 horses(1 juvennile), 104 leppits(23 juvennile ones, 29 baby ones), 10 pythosi(snakes)

[Stickman, beastmasters for creatures, scholars for other stuff.
The ten pythoses(Pythosi? I don't know...) scared away the Rilps, and Lanoc looked at the beastmaster with interest. "Alphonse, your name is, isn't it?" The man nodded. "Well Alphonse, I feel that the position of chief beastmaster is getting the better of me. All my life I've been interested in the creatures of the world, however, I fear that as a beastmaster I would be forced to compromise the animals, killing them for food and such. If you so wish, you may take over as beastmaster from me, and I shall study or capture any creatures that you wish. If I may say so myself, few beastmasters are as good as myself at noting the traits of various species." After hearing Alphonse's reply(yes or no?), he wandered out to look at the pythoses that had been found. They were incredibly active for snakes, resulting in their heavy feeding habits. He wondered what would happen once they got out of control.(Also Alphonse, sorry, but you can't cure the disease, nor really help in anyway. Only Wraith or Electric can do that.)

Much fruit was gathered, though not many were bananas, for there were not all too many banana tries on the island. Besides, they were quite small towards usual. Though a few people were slightly sick after testing various fruits, none were very poisonous. Many were in flower, and various seeds were brought back. (oh, and by the way Septim, forgot to say you couldn't eat Rilps...) The farmers did a half decent job of catching fish with little more than their bare hands and sticks.

An unemployed person, while wandering around, found tin and copper ores a little north of the main settlement village thingy. He reported this back. The town hall and the forge had also just been built.

One of the scholars figured out how to make concrete. It was made from water, some rocks and a strong sticky gel-like substance from a plant along with sand. Admittedly, not the best of concretes, but not too bad.
(Hope I haven't forgot anything. I'll have the map here soon...)

19:04:12 Jan 30th 09 - Lord Frost Wraith:

*Ranraac heard a man enter the quarters and turned to look at him. The man started blabbering, something clearly disturbing him, but he wasn't making any sense. Telling him to sit down, Ranraac calmed him down and listened slowly to what the man he had to say. Apparently, a sort of disease had broken out and was affecting the villagers. Thinking calmly, and calling the two healers, Fali Gorha and Rimadan Mahakeem, to him, Wraith asked ''What are the symptoms of the disease? And how many are sick?''*

19:05:32 Jan 30th 09 - Lord Frost Wraith:

[[I must have missed something... Didn't see anything about a disease till now >.<]]

19:07:45 Jan 30th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

Demonsul assigns the unemployed as laborers who will start mining. He also ordered the smiths to get ready for work, becuase tools will lead the way forward!

19:21:53 Jan 30th 09 - Mr. Electric:

Electrics two scholars immediately run over to the sickbeds and start to try to cure the sick, and the other 7 say they've almost found out how to make the farm. "We should have enough food," said Electric sarcastically, returning the favor to Demonsul.

20:50:29 Jan 30th 09 - Prince Valan Septim:

Septim turned from Demonsul after receiving his orders. He then walked to the barracks and gathered what men the village could spare (I really don't know, up to Killer) and went off into the wild. They killed (up to Killer...) before returning back and dropping off what they gathered in the food storage.

22:14:16 Jan 30th 09 - Sir Hirgon Sadron:

Hirgon gave Wilber a long look.  "Actually, it would take an entire day; the ride is what takes a few hours, but we'll need the rest of the day to complete the task.  I can do it with 20 horses in two days if you'd prefer to keep more here."

00:00:25 Jan 31st 09 - Mr. Killer:

MAP

Wonderful, ain't it?(sarcasm) I should have left it at white, but I'm too lazy to change it back. Still haven't done the village bit.

Fali Gorha quickly answered Wraith. "We've been monitoring them for a while. They are a bit feverish, and get sick only occasionally. In fact, they seem pretty ok, but some of them are acting insane. Not insane as such, they're just hallucinating. I can't see anything else wrong with them. It is however, contagious, that much is for sure, it may have come from the Rilps. We have them contained in this hut, as you can see, we can't afford the disease to spread. I think those two are trying to find a cure, but I couldn't be sure," he said, gesturing to the scholars.

[Septim, you can take as many infantry as you want, unless they're doing something else. In this case you've all 90 at your disposal]
Septim led his 90 infantry to kill various animals for food. Three were harmed in killing them, but not fatally, or even very seriously(not losing any limbs etc.) Three score leppits were killed, and various rilps were killed also, but couldn't be used for food. Some small birds were also killed, but they didn't go much in the way of food, and the infantry soon stopped trying to kill them. They had gotten one days worth of food(please specify the level in future, the creatures depend on which. Basically, there's only leppits, rilp and various birds in level 1)

00:03:49 Jan 31st 09 - Mr. Killer:

Blast, I messed up on the map. That white bit should only touch level 3. The white striped bit is the area which has been scouted, the white bit in red outline is where the settlement is. I'll probably add lakes, mountains and stuffof note as we go along.

11:41:53 Jan 31st 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

I vote that the unlabeled level 9 be volcanic!

13:35:45 Jan 31st 09 - Sir Wilberforce Pwner:

[[With demons and such]]

Wilber, still laying down mulls over Hirgons words before replying to him.
"Right, we cannot afford to keep our village defenceless, in terms of horses, because we knows what could be on this island and I don't plan on getting us all killed. That boat journey was *beep*ing bad enough as it was. Back onto my point anyway, yes 20 cavalry would be much better."

19:26:56 Jan 31st 09 - Mr. Killer:

Stats
Population - 1,050(1% per day)
Buildings - Timber cabins, Barracks, Wooden palisades, Forge, Town hall

Animals - 53 horses(1 juvennile, 1 baby), 147 leppits(29 juvennile ones, 43 baby ones. I hope you realise these guys are sort of eating into the food supply), 10 pythosi(snakes)

[You'll find out what's after level 8 in due course. If you survive, and if this manages to keep going 'til then. Oh, and by the way, you can't pass boats along the side of the continent, for unknown reasons... You could try...]
The mages and scholars cured the sick, and the injured infantry.

The scholars figured out a plan for the farm, and some labourers started working on it(one day to make the farm, sow seeds etc. And another one for you to get any food out of it :P). Some labourers also started digging/mining the ores(you won't get much for a while).

[Rght, since Wraith is going to stop playing VU, I'm guessing he won't be doing this anymore. Anyone want to swap their position for a mage?]

20:00:44 Jan 31st 09 - Mr. Stickman:

[[ If its necessary, i can do both ;p]]

Alphonse was shocked by Lanoc's proposal. He hastily agrees, and immediately starts his work.

16:28:25 Feb 2nd 09 - Prince Pelagius Septim VII:

Don't suppose you want to do anything? You may be attacked in the near future...

18:42:06 Feb 2nd 09 - Prince Pelagius Septim VII:

As the man in charge of defenses, Septim began sending out patrols into the scouted areas, he also began setting up sentry posts. After setting up the patrols and posts with the men, he went to Head Councilor Demonsul's office.
"Sir, those damn leppits are eating the food...so I suggest that we kill some of them off and imply a restriction on how many lepits can be in the village at once," said Septim.

21:26:28 Feb 2nd 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

"I agree," said Demonsul. "Until Electric can finally come up with some damned farms, we need all the food we can get."

In the farms, various plants being to grow, and some crops are harvested for food. However, most are trees, and will take a while to grow.

You are going to be attacked tomorrow.

22:37:52 Feb 3rd 09 - Prince Pelagius Septim VII:

[[OOC: Demonsul, you needed to give the orders for the leppits to be killed and eaten. ><]]

19:55:31 Feb 4th 09 - Sir Fords Boner:

[[I'ma hit you with a stick Hirgon.. I can't RP as such until you reply :P]]

19:58:29 Feb 4th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

[[Damned name improvements, they are confusing me a lot right now]]

Demonsul issues the order he discussed with Septim already!! I thought Killer could take the hint...but hey.

They came charging across the plain, a humble scouting part of one score beings. But, they rode on massive beasts, and wielded heavy javelins and vicous curved swords. They were the newly named Eplopes. Lanoc observed them from his perch, as the guards roared at the intrusion. Lanoc took out his log, and scribbled furiously.

Eplopes
These strange beings have six limbs, two much like our own legs, and four others, all very similiar, I cannot detect any differences of note. These limbs seem to have three sections, and they can move them at a rapid rate. They have a sort-of hand like structure at the end, two long fingers and a bowl-like palm, which can widen and narrow at will. They are short and fat creatures really, and can only waddle at top speed. They however, seem to have armour-like skin, indeed, much thicker than armour I've seen. A turtle-shell is the closest I could come to describing it. Otherwise, they are similar in shape to humans, apart from for obvious canine teeth. As for the creatures they ride...

Hunquils
These beasts are of massive bulk, yet they gallop at amazing speeds, and can easily endure a long run, even with the heavy beings on their backs. They have blunt and small teeth however, so we can at least be relieved they are not carnivores. They seem to anger easily however. They are alike to a horse, but of bigger size, and seem to run with a lope mostly. They also have no necks, and are incredibly furry, the temperature mustn't be too warm from whence they originated.

20:20:19 Feb 4th 09 - Prince Pelagius Septim VII:

[[OOC: You ignored both my patrols and sentries AND Demonsul's orders...>.<]]

War Chief Valan Septim cursed as he saw the charge approaching.
How the HELL did they get around the patrols and the sentries! They had horns for a reason, dammit!
Septim then blew the horn, causing all of the Village to stir. The horn meant one thing: they were under attack.

20:26:33 Feb 4th 09 - Mr. Killer:

Oh, ermmm... The sentries blew their horns when they spotted them, but they're really fast. As for killing the leppits, Electric needs to kill them, or else Stickman(Stickman can't change them into food though).

20:27:05 Feb 4th 09 - Sir Hirgon Tegalad:

[[OOC: It's a good thing I didn't RP, 'cause we would have 20+ soldiers away from the village during the attack.]]

Hirgon rallied the 20 archers in the village, confident that the 20 still milling about in the nearby trees from the last scouting expedition would know what to do.  He then went to find Septim, wondering to himself, "How do we KNOW they're going to attack?"

20:30:13 Feb 4th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

[This is going to be interesting]

Demonsul came running from his cabin, his cloak flapping in the wind. Rushing up to Septim, he demanded, "What is it?! What's going on?"

20:30:38 Feb 4th 09 - Prince Pelagius Septim VII:

[[OOC:
*imagines Electric's post and shudders*]]

Septim saluted Demonsul.
"Sir!"
He then heard Demonsul's question.
"Armed forces are approaching the village, they have their weapons out and ready, so I'm willing to assume that they want to fight..."
Septim then turned to Hirgon.
"I don't know, they have their weapons at the ready though, and that's as good a reason as any to prepare for a fight!" said Septim to Hirgon as he walked to his horse, "I know I'm not the cavalry commander anymore, but I still like being on a horse during a battle..."

20:39:49 Feb 4th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

Demonsul looked slightly daunted. "I did not know anyone had colonized--" he catches sight of the scouting party. "HOLY GODS!! What the hell are they?!" Demonsul turned away. "Septim, deal with them as you see fit! Do what will keep this settlement safe!"
