The Map Of Asroth [ RP] |
*Septim looks around.
The mind war is seemingly over...although nobody wanted to read my thoughts...hehehe...good choice friends...good choice.
*Septim looks down at Cossius.
Alright friend, you understand your mission?, asked Septim.
I do, if you die I am to follow them and stop any mortal hands from retrieving the blade...and if I die?, asked Cossius.
I have a back-up plan, do not worry, thought Septim.
*Septim rode on, noticing the ever dropping sun in the horizon.
"I would suggest stopping soon", said the up until now silent Septim, "It seems that the dark is home to the minority of us."
[[OOC: I am leaving today at 8 pacific time until Wednesday...]]
|
As the light fades away Killstone starts losing his power. He senses the power of the night dwellers more and decideds to be more cautios with his ways.
"I agree wtih Septim. Shelter would be good for now. If we do not have enough time t oget to the city we could atleast try and find a cave or some other sort of shelter to hide in for a while."

Atreides feels at home in this darkness. It is his natural setting after all. As the darkness heightens both his reflexes and senses, he begins to realize that people have been reading each others minds....his own had been targeted by nearly all of them. Shocked and outraged, his frustration with the group grows. Lacking the magical/psychic capacity to fight back, he decides to simply think of nothing (which comes very naturally to him). Having created a perfect defense, Atreides immediately starts thinking about what kind of a person he would need to ally himself with.
Perhaps it would be best to make friends with the warriors of the light...then we can both cancel out each other's weaknesses. But...I could never get along with someone so lawful. Darkness...some of them were intimidating, but as allies they could be very useful.....I'm hungry! Damn it! I can't think on an empty stomach. Where the hell can I find food?
Atreides reinstates his absolute defense and continues to think about nothing.
|
(Might is right. And anyway, that makes it more interesting. If you wanna play alone, that´s fine...and boring!)
|
The ight became dim and the men pupils grew to take in as uch light as possible, the darkness almost thickened apon the men , the groud shudderd infont of the men, a crack emerged as Revenge looked down " Halt ! " He cried the groud almost opened like a book infront of him, a large burst of darkness shot at the group, Revenge could not see but one of his team mates dived infront, it obsorbed into him, Revenge held his sword high "Mucro lux lucis" Shouted Revenge, his sword became bright he held it ahead and saw three almost shadows ahead of him, in a flash a dark figure engaged Revenge, Revenge's sword clashed upon the dark figure's blade, the light and dark weapons caused a small explosion causing Revenge to fall off his steed, the other two figures engaged the rest of the group...
|
*Killer looked carefully at the figures. He couldn't see them properly. Killer takes out his oaken staff, and whacks the figure nearest him. The staff passes through it, but its healing powers seem to harm the figure. He passed the staff through it again and again, and the figure just disappeared. He stays on guard in case of another attack.*
|
Gaius used his sight to freeze one of them, but it didn´t work. They were too powerful. He withdrew his sword; it was time to fight!
|
Killstone mumbling some words made a small orb of light appear. the orb flew from his hands and lodged its self in the shadow like figure. The light grew dim but with concentration from killstone the light grew brighter and brighter growing bigger and bigger finally overwhelming the shadow and making cringe on the ground in a helpless state.
Killstone pants at the hard concentration and energy the spell took out of him hoping another person in the team could finish off the shadow
|
*Seeing Killstone subcombing under his own spell of light, Shezmu grabs his ancient sword and slashes away at the shade...his eyes glowed green and the symbols inscripted on his sword seemed to be pulsating greenish as well...with each blow of his sword, Shezmu grinned more and more devious towards the shade...*
"begone foul creature of the netherworlds! for there is no future for you to gain here in these plagued lands, for only history is written today...yours!!!" Shezmu screamed at the strange creature...
*suddenly the shadow eminated a powerfull dark gasious blast towards Killstone and Shezmu and both were pushed back by the sheer magnitude of the blast, dropping them on the ground behind where they stood fighting before...*
|
Seeing Shezmu and Killer be pushed back by the shadow, Erunion sent forth a bar of fire, only it's twin came speeding from the opposite direction, the two met in the middle of the shadow, and exploded in a burst of fire and light...
|
Being pushed back from the force of the creature Killstone regains his energy and stands up a bit shaky from the blast
"You shall not conqour us foul beast!" he screamed
Mumbling words again a spear apparently made out of light forms. Killstone throws the spear at the shadow and it pireces right through its chest. Another forms in Killstone's hand and he throws this one which pierces into the shadows head. The shadow falls to the ground seemlingly defeated.
Killstone starts walking away as the shadow stands up and hits him with a blast of darkness on the back of his head knocking him to the ground. standing back up, Killstone thrusts his hands in opposite directions while shouting "Begone you Shadow! I've had enough of your trickery!" and the spears start to expand creating a hole in the shadow eventually ripping it apart. The shadow then dissapears for its time of ruin had just came.
|
The power of these shadows was surprising. As Killstone and Shezmu squared off against one of these creatures, and Revenge dueled another, Atreides rushed to the aid of Erunion. We will need this elf...if he dies, our quest ends here. As he rides towards them, they both unleash high level spells of fire.
Atreides quickly ducks behind his shield to avoid the blast of the explosion. His horse, who was much sturdier than Atreides himself, just shakes off the force and continues running. As the shadow focuses on another spell against Erunion, Atreides' mount, Shadow, jumps over a rock, and Atreides nearly loses his hold while he chuckles to himself at the irony. No time for that now....I must focus on the battle. Atreides slashes the shadow across its chest as he passes.
He jumps off the horse and turns to face the shadow. His attack seemed to have no effect...Atreides charges back to the fight and begins an onslaught of sword strikes that seem to simply pass through the shadow. Frustrated, he tries to focus all his energy into one strike. His sword hits the ground, passing harmlessly through the shadows, and he notices the fireball too late.
Atreides gets slammed back and his body flies into a tree. He staggers to his feet. What is this? Nothing I do seems to make a difference. Suddenly, he realizes that his sword, glowing red, seems to be vibrating. What's happening? This...this power......it's....coming from me! What is it? Could it be? My father spoke of a gift...a rare gift that his great-grandfather had....a spiritual power from within. If that's what this is, then I must learn to control it.
Atreides charged back. This time, the point of the sword made impact with the shadow's chest! It didn't pierce the armor, but the force pushed the shadow back several feet. Now the fight really begins.
|
Gaius saw his companions fight the shadows, and quickly decided to make a surprise attack. He joined the shadows around him, and became invisible to the naked eye. After that, he moved slowly towards the back of one of the shadows, the one Revenge was fighting. Suddenly, he felt a excruciating pain in his chest. "Atreides...". Gaius knew what he had unleashed; for this spirit had been his companion hundreds of years ago, when both of them were still alive... When he got back to his senses, he saw that the shadow had noticed him and had ducked to avoid his attack. Therefore he started moving with haste. With a quick blow, he hit the shadow on the neck. Black blood started pouring from the wound, but it seemed the creature hadn´t been damaged at all. Gaius stabbed it three more times, but the creature didn´t suffer any damage. "Damn", he thought. There was no easy way of beating these things! It was then that a light arrow hit the shadow directly in the face. It started crumbling, but Gaius didn´t know if it was going to die....
|
"These shadows seem to be immune to any melee attacks! You'll have to use some sort of magic to defeat them! Blocknig with your swords is possible though you just cant harm them with weapons! Use magic! The light is their weakness but dark magic will work just as fine!" Killstone bellowed after desttoying the shadow with the spears.
|
Erunion concentrated on the center of the beast, were Atreides had made contact. There should be a decreased strength in armour at that point now... Erunion a javelin, seemingly of molten metal, which speared into the beasts chest, shattering some of it's unreal armour. In the center of the body, right beyond that point, a bright light appeared, settling in to a ball of fire, which was rotating rapidly. It even seemed to be getting smaller and smaller... Suddenly, the ball of fire was gone, then came the implosion... A huge amount of flame coming suddenly and without warning towards the shadow. The flame and the shadow made contact, and the flame became another ball, much like the last one...
Trying to clear their eyes of the blinding flash of light, the party members saw that there was one less shadow...
|
Sigfreid deep in thought took a few moments to realize what Erunion was
saying. He finally replied "You know as well as I do Erunion that in
business like ours we make enemies and I've made my fair share"
Sigfreid returned to his thoughts with haste âWhile a person with
psychic abilities was interesting it was not all together
unexpected. But it made him excitedâ A cold smile began to grow
as he remembered his own personal type of defense. â He still
remembered the man that had tested him on his knowledge of defending
himself against intrusions of the mind for the Dark Lord. He had wound
up on the floor shivering, after all once you entered my mind your at
my controlâ thought Sigfreid
*But as time went on Sigfreid realized nothing would happen so he once again felt boredom take over.*
And then the shadows came.
Sigfreid watched them battle the creatures of shadow and saw one of
them fall to a spear of light. But one of them had disappeared into the
darkness once almost beaten by Gaius and Sigfreid was steadily tracking
his movements. Taking out his sword he felt the Shade materialize out
of the darkness and charge towards him.
A moment of surprise crossed Sigfreids features and then he sprung into
action. Unsheathing his own sword and blocking the stab sent
towards him. Instead of pausing to jump backwards the Shade moved his
sword downwards and stabbed through Sigfreids horse.
Sigfreid paused and spoke up âYou dare attack me you miserable creature
of the darkness. I who could kill you a thousand times over and
end your existenceâ he spoke without malice but filled with disgust.
Then the shade moved with speed and attacked him again moving his sword
expertly upwards to try to cut his head but with Sigfreid blocked
it using his sword and moving it sideways to push him back. But the
Shade had expected it and already had taken a dagger he had at his side
and slashed at his side. The dagger connected and Sigfreid felt pain
course through him.
As the Shade jumped backwards Sigfreid commanded âDarkness bind
himâ and the pitch black night came alive as if a beast had taken
control of it. The darkness came crashing down upon the Shade.
The Shade was held in place by the darkness around his body. A snake of darkness that curled around itâs body.
Sigfreid stood there for a moment and then moved. He was not worried
about the Shade using the darkness against him for of the two Sigfreid
held more control of the darkness then the shade.
âYou know unlike everyone else here I donât plan to kill you, instead I
want to know why youâre here and who sent you. But I canât hold you
foreverâ Sigfreid was now behind him and paused â, luckily not
everything in a Shadeâs body is different them a humans.â Sigfreidâs
voice dropped to a whisper âSuch as if I cut your Achilles heel
then you wonât be able to moveâ
With these final words Sigfreid brought his sword that had become black
as night except for the wolf that was Red down upon the Shadeâs heel to
cut it in two. The sword connected and the Shade let out an unearthly
scream as his tendon was cut. The snake disappeared with a
command from Sigfreid and the Shade fell down and quickly begin to
crawl away since he could no longer walk.
Sigfreid did not go after the Shade for he knew one of his companions
would be able to get him in time. Sigfreid mind was moving fast
and a forced calmness was in his fast âIt had been a victory in his
favor and with ease but the problem was that the dagger the Shade had
used had some sort of poison in it. Something familiar, he had felt
this earlier that day.â Sigfreids mind was racing as he came to a
conclusion âThat Shade must have some sort fast acting Plague bacteria
in that dagger. He had to cure himself and fast.â
OOC: Wow LONG!
|
*Might quickly launched into the air on his Griffon, Benjamin. He then starting picking off shades as the materialized.
|
OOC: I thought there were only 3 Shades? All of which are currently engaged , Might
|
{Two of which are dead and one of which is crawling away, immobilized.}
|
[I told you I was picking em off! I didn't say any kind of number.]
|
{Why in the world would be picking off the immobilized one that implies your planning to kill him also you used the word shades}
|
*Killer looked around at the company. Most of them seem rattled by such a sudden attack, only a few leaping into action immediately. One shade was still crawling along the ground. He saw that Sigfried was the one that done such to him. He wondered how. The shade he attacked must have been different, he decided, weaker. Or not fully materialized. He wondered what Sigfried would do next.
|
Just so you know, I mean the shade I attacked...

As the sun rose up over the plains as the first moents of morning arrived, the aprty could see something on the horiuzon far away. it looked to be the very tops of tall buildings. The still plauged land stretched far ahead over many miles seperating the party from the city. The party rode on to try and get to the city.
[OOC: sorry to psot the finding of the city thats waht i thought we needed to get the story going again and no one was psoting and i amde te city far away so that revenge can change it if needed]
|
Gaius was perplex. He hadn´t been able to do any real damage to those creatures! He thought he would eventually have to start using magic again. But he knew the prize would be too high. He really needed that sword! As he saw the city, far away, he thought this journey would be a long one, and a pretty dangerous one, too.
|
OOC: Killstone what are we going to do with the immobilized Shade?
Ive got two choices thought Sigfreid I either heal myself somehow or I destroy the bacteria with a lot of dark energy.
*Sigfreids hand strayed to his hilt where the blood diamonds were located*
I only have 8 of them and Im using one of them so early in this quest
but at the same time I could always replenish' my stock.
It seems I dont have much of a choice in the matter spoke Sigfreid
as he dug his hand into his hilt and holding a blood Diamond.
*Bringing the Blood Diamond upon the slash he released it. Suddenly a wail was heard across the campsite, the wail sounded like
it came from a little boy in the final moments of his life*
Sigfreid paused for a moment and then stumbled as if drunk and Sigfreid
was drunk or at least on his own sudden increase of power.
Amazing thought Sigfreid The innocence of this child must have been huge.
*As Sigfreid moved a little he felt no pain from inside or outside which made him feel surprisingly happy.*
*He walked over to his horse that had been stabbed and surveyed the damage*
I suspected as much though Sigfreid as he looked upon the skin that
only had a light scar The Dark Lord made it so that it could fix
itself from small wounds like this
*Finally Sigfreid turned his face towards the crawling away Shade
and a small part of him hoped for its sake that someone would
get to it before he did*
|
*Shezmu watched the last shade crawled away from the group of adventurers and ginned mischieviously whilst staring straight at it...his green eyes burned through the black holes of the Shade...as if Shezmu was trying to look into the creature's mind...*
"Interesting...injured...yet still very much alive...healing itself from the plagued fields so it seems...though getting weaker as the sun rises...magnifiscent...but sadly...of no use to me..."
*Shezmu slowly started walking towards the shade, pushing aside a few of his fellow adventurers that got in his path...the runes on his ancient sword started glowing brighter with every step he made towards it*
"This is where your history will start...for I am writing it right here...right now...foul beast of darkness!!!" Shezmu yelled at the Shade who was seemingly screeming in a high-pitched tone as his mighty sword came down on it...
*bright flashes of green light ran through the Shade with every strike Shezmu took at it...Shezmu's eyes glowed bright and his grin...oh his grin...it was as if he was actually enjoying the seemingly overdone act of finishing off an already crippled enemy...eventually the Shade dropped dead onto the ground, it's remains sinking into it within seconds*
|
Interesting....both Sigfreid and Shezmu seem to enjoy killing. Surprisingly, I think I'm beginning to get the slightest tinge of satisfaction from the suffering I inflict.
All my morals and ethics...but.....who cares?
The power I feel now, with it, what do morals matter? Damn Erunion! I wanted to fini*beep* myself!
But no...it's not right....I mustn't kill for pleasure...Why not?
Why not? With their death, my power can only grow. Every fight can only make me stronger!
But this is wrong!
It doesn't matter...ha ha ha....no. It doesn't matter at all. I must get to know these two...they might be useful.
|
Erunion looked at the murderer, Siegfried. I must free those souls, or is it just the blood? Bah, I should have spent more time studying the subject.
|
revenge you should nt make a game if ur not active for it
|
Interesting... it seems that Shezmu and Sigfried find killing enjoyable... Maybe I should use this to my advantage. It also seems that that panzie, Erunion, may be against those two. I must look into this!
|
*Erunion stares at Might.* Poor fellow, him. Doesn't seem to be too much of a nice guy, but he's turning dark.
|
*Sigfreid felt a stab of annoyance towards Shezmu for killing the shade before he did, but that was all*
*Sigfreids eye's roved through the group to gauge there reaction on the recent attack*
Atreides is having an internal battle, how curious thought Sigfreid Ill find out more about this later
*Sigfreid finally stopped at one Erunion Telcontar whos eyes had been
staring at his sword, to be more exact his Blood Diamonds*
*Expertly Sigfreid twirled his sword and brought it down quickly
upon a pristine tulip wonderfully made and preserved the only
thing still alive in the infected lands and a beacon of hope against
the darkness*
*Sigfreid tapped it with his sword
. It withered and died in seconds
falling to the ground the, last thing pure and good in the field*
*Erunions eyes flicked upwards to meet two wall like eyes.*
*Finally Sigfreid broke the reverie and spoke We should be going, there is no reason to stay here
|
[ Sorry I havent been active, my family has been over and that, I will right a HUGE bit soon ok ^^ Im sorry again, If anyone wants they can say that we arrived etc then I will continue, no more baddies now until after, merry christmas ^^ ]
|
*Killer sees that men may fight among the company soon. They will at some stage, it is inevitable, he thinks, but he didn't think it would be so soon. He gets on his pony, Bás, and trots him onwards, ahead of the group, who seem to be standing still, when they have to find shelter.*
|
*Slowly walks back towards his shadowsteed and carefully looks at the others as he passes them by*
"hmmm...these lands...there's something not right about it...I'm feeling...more...evil..." Shezmu slowly speaks to himself..."it must be these lands...it's corrupting everything it comes in touch with!!!"
*Shezmu looks at his shadowsteed for a few seconds* "Sorry my faithful compagnion...I can't use you anymore...it's just too dangerous..."
*Slowly he starts to chant yet again in an ancient language and a dark whirl of dust and smoke surrounds his shadowsteed...the others watch in awe as he performs his seemingly dark ritual when a bright green flash blinds them for a few seconds...as they slowly open their eyes again, they see a magnificent flying beast hovering in the air above the ground...it's wings feathered, yet seemingly made out of scales, it's legs are armed with sharp talons and it's beak looks mighty sharp...it resembles a gryphon...only darker...and more dragonlike*
"This should keep me from losing my touch with reality...or at least slow down the effects of these wretched lands...hopefully the others will not succumb to the corrupting effects...I've already witnessed some unfortunate change in their behaviour...which is...disturbing...we better get to that city...fast..." Shezmu spoke once again to himself as he mounted his flying beast...
"Well don't just stand there staring at me...it's that city overthere we should be staring at...preferably from up close!!!" Shezmu yelled at the group, his eyes glowing brightly...
|
"Oh come now Shezmu these foolish parlor tricks do not impress the
wiser of us" speaks Sigfreid as he passes him "Many of us can do
similiar improvements to our animals if we wish to but unlike you we don't
feel like bragging about it.".
*With these final words Sigfreid pushed his horse into a gallop towards the city not looking to see if the rest followed*
OOC: Has anyone else noticed that I'm just about the only person
that doesn't seem to be befriending someone? Guess I'm just getting
into character.
|
Impressive....Sigfreid seems to have similar abilities as well. Interesting...or dangerous. We shall see.
Atreides mounts his trusty steed, Shadow, and sets out in the direction of the city.
It seems the rest are in a hurry to reach the city. But what's the rush? Encountering more of those shades might not be a bad thing. I personally would like to fight, and kill, one of those creatures. Perhaps I could learn something from them.
|
Why waste my abilities on my Griffon when he can already fly? I mean really Shezmu is just showing off! Now to continue my work of separating the party.... Might mounts his Griffon, Benjamin, and leaps into the sky. [You can't read my mind, Erunion.]
|
Gaius continues to ride trough shadows. "Showoff... They shouldn´t be so *beep*y, they should be embarrassed they even need other creatures to ride. Still, they seem to have some interesting powers, I shall see what else they can do", he thought to himself. Suddenly, Gaius saw a bird come from the north. Creatures were coming back to these lands... It seemed that with the destruction of the two shades, the evil that corrupted these lands was disappearing.
|
{No, but I can read your Face, Might... And your body movements, your actions, where you are looking.}
|
*Killer rides on, and sees some of them coming. Good, he thinks, there wouldn't be any use in him setting out on his own, though in future, it might have proved better. He thinks that they can't be too evil... But he knows that some of them would put a sword through his heart without a second glance. No matter, hewould have to prevent that from happening.*
|
*Xiax finally manages to catch up with the rest of the group, travelling on foot it seems, is not nearly as fast as having a mount.*
"It appears I shall have to acquire one of these beasts to carry me."
*Xiax now sets his sights on the city, thinking about how he will be able to afford a decent mount with no gold, or will he need gold at all?*
[OOC: Haha, completely forgot about signing up for this, have looked at it a few times but didn't remember that I actually signed up for this as well.]
|
*Killstone pulls Xiax onto his horse.* "come on mate we need to get to that city fast and running jsut doesnt quite cut it.
"Come on everyone that city needs to be reached soon!" *after galloping with the rest for a few hours the city seems much closer* "that city must not have been as far away as it seemed before! We wil lreach it by night fall.
*as the sun was setting the party reaches the city and goes to the place of safty forthe night*
|
[Erunion, I never said I was looking at them or that I was doing anything.]
|
{"after galloping with the rest for a few hours" By this time, all but the magical beasts are dead from exhaustion, because no horse can gallop for more than half an hour, and most would be dead after 10 minutes.}
|
[fine sorry make it moving at a quick yet not exausting pace for a few hours so that we get there by sun down and everything is still alive =P]
|
The horses were being used well, trot for a while, canter for a while, then the riders dismounted to walk, then they repeated the whole process. It was the only way for them to go at a good clip without killing the poor horses. The few that were living, that is. Erunion kept jogging along beside them easily.
