A Decent Game like VU

Is there one? If so, can it be played on a Powerbook G4? And no, getting a new computer is not an option. I barely have enough to pay for the apartment let alone a new computer.

There is one game, that I've seen similar in fashion to Visual-Utopia but it still has their differences.  However I don't remember the name of it, it was kind of space age, but still had the turns (range from 10 minutes, to one hour I believe between the different servers) move the same, build the same but with some differences.  If I remember the name I will post it.

Thanks poly. I mean I play another one called Ogame. It is kinda like VU only difference is you can only have a total of 9 planets and you have fleets instead of armies. What's better about the game is you get resources as time goes by so if you make like 30000 units per hour, you will see them being produce minute after minute. Also, you can have more than 100+ alliances to join or create your own. However, the time to wait for each upgrade is a lot longer compared to VU.

Ogame... wow, those were the days... i got to a stage where it was taking months to build upgrades, so i quit.

Well, Im at about 100k points and it took me like 4 long years to get there. Its worth it since I can actually do something for the alliance I am in. When did you start playing Ogame JLT? If you played when they had Unis1-42 then you should try it now. They have new universes with faster gameplay. Meaning you get your resources faster and upgrade time is lessened. I believe its 4x faster now.

Can you send your attack on enemy planet, and then change your mind and in middle of your attack switch course to another planet? And then you see another fleet close by, can you turn the other way, maybe try switching directions every hour?

I tried Ogame long time ago, but all these things were not possible. You simply set course and can not change it, or did they change that? VU is the only game with such freedom of movement on the map, as far as I know, I would like to see another game with such freedom to do what ever you want with your army...

Well Aisha, you still cant do that but you can intercept fleets now with the ALL NEW BATTLECRUISERS!!!!! It is a lot more powerful than the Battleship and Cruiser by far. No you still cannot change your course. You can only send the ship back to your planet. However, you can attack with your alliance members in an ACS attack. Its like merging here on VU only that everyone gains a part of the resources instead of one person gaining everything. How much they each get is a mystery because I have not done it yet.

The game I was talking about is as free moving as VU but I just can't remember the darn name of it lol.

00:40:42 Feb 29th 12 - Polydeuces (Mr. The Real Valhalla):

I found a website that has a list of "Tick Based Games" but I don't feel like going through every one for you so here's the link lol..

The game I was talking about is called: Battle Dawn

There are MANY more players, can range from 1-4 ticks per hour, play on 3 different types of worlds, Mars, Earth or Fantasy plays like VU in most aspects but a little differently.

I think the one you are saying is Battledawn, It is very much like VU,, the only difference is, its on the space age.

Sounds wicked ill give it a try.

There is a medieval option on battledawn..thats if it is the game im thinking of. im pretty sure you can choose between fantasy and mars , its a really good game.

12:20:30 Feb 29th 12 - Princess Aisha:

Oh I kinda like Battle Dawn, I just tried playing it, but I already ran into problems there, I go through all of the tutorial, and then I go to "build outpost" and then it requires registration. First you just go in game and keep playing without registering, and then when you reach a certain point they ask you to register.
Then I put in my info, and clicked register, first it goes loading long time, I try it again and then it says "you can not make any more registrations today, try again tomorrow"... I mean wth?
I tried the Mars world and also the fantasy world, its cool :) graphics of the actual armies are much better, shows you a space ship as your army, and not just a cube like here :) I hope I manage to register there :)

14:47:33 Feb 29th 12 - HorusPanic (Mr. Panic):

having the same registration issues.. otherwise the game looks promising

11:59:14 Mar 1st 12 - Ms. Jasmine The Lazy:

Nah, same thing. You can only send, and return armies... no way to change path, so thats the same as any other game, no freedom of movement on the map... but a nice try though, thanx for the suggestion.

15:33:44 Mar 1st 12 - Polydeuces (Mr. Voltarios):

I never had any problems with registering on that site.  I also was able to change path of my armies when sending them?  It is tick based.. but I noticed that you can only send to specific areas, like an outpost or a city, you can't just have it sit out in the open lol.

Clash of Kingdoms

15:39:17 Mar 29th 12 - Skinny Vinny (Sir Skinny):

poly, thats going to be the difference between VU and just about any other game out there.  you can send armies and even change the course in most, but they need a destination.  you can't just have them sit in key spots or make scout art like you can in VU :)

Yeah but I like Ogame better. New players can take their time to learn the game. Here I feel its a bit rushed. Its basically a trial and error for VU but for Ogame, they have a tutorial that explains what you should do first and what to do after that. Mind you, I like VU. The longest I have taken a break from VU is about a couple of months. Thats about it. I have been off and on when it comes to Ogame but Ill look up all the other games that were mentioned above.
