Chinese Armada | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|
Does anyone here knows about the Chinese naval fleet in the 1400s? It said that if china continue to enhance and build more ships that is 20 times larger than European ships, maybe EU will not conquer Asia because of the massive and large Chinese ships. But it only last for about 3 dynasty before EU began to explore the unknown oceans. | ||||
just like large ships saved the spanish armada from the british? lol | ||||
More larger than than spanish ships. | ||||
ya, i heard about that... the huge ass junk ships... i dont think so man.... | ||||
well they could have raided entire countries for food/resources/ filled up ships along the way to reach europe lol | ||||
and if aliens had come down and given the greeks cannons we would all speak greek!! omg talk about a load of crap lol | ||||
They were cool ships, but they were far to slow and costly to have made any real difference. Vikings successfully raided because they were fast, and their equipment was easily replaceable. A large navy allows you to control islands, but it would have been impossible for the Chinese to spread their influence very far inland. Controlling nations far from your power base just wasn't feasible at those times. Look at how England lost America. | ||||
they could have changed history, the european ships at that time where like war galleys and the chinese like modern warships in comparison. and they could easily have gone all the way to europe, they had "farms" on their ships and hugh watersuplies.And its easy to control a area if you can deploy hugh armies like the chinese had at that time to conquer the inner lands. | ||||
I actually did an entire research project on this. And I read a book on it, 1426 I believe, it's pretty good. And the chinease wern't all about spreading their culture, they were more about taking in everyone elses. Which is why people are still finding plants and animals native to Africa and other distant places in China. | ||||
The chinese reached the southern cap of africa before they turn back. Their goal was to trade and make friends not invade. It was around 90 years? before the first EU ships reached that part of africa. | ||||
This is pure fantasy. There is no way they could have taken a large fleet around the world at that time in history, and no way they would have been able to invade all of Europe. It's just silly. | ||||
Nimic, get your logic out of here. By the way, the Chinese also invented golf, and colonized America hundreds of years before Europeans ever visited. | ||||
Colonized? No. There's a chance they actually went there, though most historians don't think it ever happened. But that wasn't before the Vikings went there in any case, and last time I checked they were European. | ||||
Yes, they did not want a colonization but their aim is to be a mighty empire in terms of economy. | ||||
Lord Protector Nimic | ||||
Because they run out of gold. | ||||
20 times larger than "European ships"? Yeah, I think you're going to have to back that up with some sources before I believe that. And of course it's silly. Even if they did have that fleet, and somehow managed to sink all the European fleets, what would they do from there? Drop off 50,000 Chinese and sail back to China to return with reinforcement in a year or two? They were fairly mighty in the 13-1400s, but the reality of conquest half way around the world would prove too much ;) | ||||
wow hurt ego's. | ||||
I'm not Chinese, so my ego wouldn't be hurt. Neither was I alive in the 15th century. I'm just interested in history and teaching, and teaching people history ;D | ||||
