An artist friend of mine is currently being detained by the US Government in a prison in Florida.  Why?  She is not a US citizen.  She was born in Latvia, a USSR satellite state, and when the USSR collapsed she became stateless.

Recently the US Government ordered her to leave, but she couldn't--no passport, since she is stateless.  So she was arrested and is being detained.

If you have a moment of spare time and a kind heart, please look into this thread and sign the petition.  Now, I don't know how effective this is supposed to be, but it's the least I could do as a friend to try and help her out.

That is freaking unfare insane and out of order! No one should be treated like that...

She'll probably never get out which is quite sad really. we need millions of people to sign this petition before they would ever consider freeing her.

She should convert to Judaism then she can become a Israeli citizen.
