Mario vs Sonic in odd places |
11:30:39 Jul 28th 11 - Mr. Gabriel I:
So, how would a flash battle work in Visual Utopia? Every army has a melee unit and a ranged unit. 3 races have cavalry. 3 other races have soldiers with extra hit points and strength. Could it be that with ranged units, you can alter attack types?
Special qualities of each ranged unit:
Archers: can light arrows and burn buildings as well as shooting rope arrows.
Hammer throwers: Can fight melee and wreck buildings with melee attacks as well as throwing grappling hooks
Slingers and Rock Throwers: Can heat pellets and use ropes with rock-like anchors on the ends.
Knights are heavy infantry that have strong defense and are good at charging and attacking.
Riders are fast and light, but have poorer defense and can use arrows if they want to.
Pony Riders are very small and fast targets, making them effective when routing and outmaneuvering. They could be equipped with crossbows.
The other three units that are not cavalry have extra health and defense as well as strength. They can throw weapons as well as breaking buildings.
Magicians can't attack, though.
The biggest problem, however, is when to schedule attacks.

I think you're expecting a bit much of the game? Really, the thing that makes the game attractive to those who play it as is, is you don't need an awesome connection and computer for it.... this seems like you'd be pushing that. Report |

i dont think you need a really great computer to run flash games. and for a Strategy game you dont need a good connection either.
thoh agree that it would take some work but in the end more people will play it.

Make it so you can go to settings > ''Use Flash Map''.
which will show you the flash map where things look way even better and that kind'a stuff, so you can choose between using a really nice map or this one.

The idea is just a silly suggestion. I once posted it on "the hangaround" because of the silly nature of the suggestion because it was simply an idea I made for fun. I only posted it here because I was told to.

I've been thinking of this a lot. But the main problem is that, the one you are fighting against is almost never online, so you would basically fight versus an computer AI. And I see no point in that.
I even started on a separate game called "wargenerals" that would be based of VU. Where you would control armies in the battle. And maybe link it to VU so that you could hire generals from that game. Basically you had dots on a 2d map then moved them around. You could zoom in to micromanage single soldiers or zoom out to control platoons, companies, regiments etc. It ended up being too much work though, so I stopped working on it. Report |

It is hilarious thinking that VU battles should be like Advance Wars (Nintendo) because the gameplay kinda reminds me of how Total War Campaign map is functioning, at least when SEGA distributed it. Don't get me on a strange tangent that does not belong in this forum. |
This was an actual forum that existed in Suggestions section. With the way I carried this conversation, I felt that if I mentioned that talking about Advance Wars and Total War at the same time is like comparing Mario with Sonic, it would go on a tangent, so I decided to copy and paste this forum here to talk about the strange places where Mario and Sonic crossed paths with each other, such as this game.
Tell me if this reminds you of Visual Utopia.
Many agree that Assassin's Creed makes history fun, but Total War for me does that too, at least studying how politics work, but what does that have to do with Mario and Sonic?
