Caligo you like anything that attracts boobs... lol
Yeah i actually have many, im best on bass, i sing in this band, and i can play the guitar and drums; though i cannot play the drums as well as Caligo (he is the drummer).
Royal Flush this is likely because you only listen to a select type of music, I listen to everything so im more musically in touch than you. People who lets say, only listen to metal, or rap, or 70's rock, or pop, or country...
their musical ability is low because EVERY different genre uses different scales and different skills that the other wouldnt. Metal uses mainly Minor scales giving it an Erie sound, pop and most hard rock uses Major scales mixed with various amounts of other scale and country uses natural minor mainly to give it that mellow sadish sound that a lot of their songs have.
and Penguin, no band starts off sounding perfect and any musician would know this.
and no the "Bearded Fag" (lol) is our guitarist Andy
and sorry if i insulted in any way, thats just how it is. This genre normal uses some diminished scales with some penatonic thrown in. We're still getting down our full sound so its a little premature to make such an assumption
This is grunge (which is a late variation of punk mixed with 80's metal)
We have altered this genre making a new wave Grunge mixed with new aged metal without the death scream/growl vocals.
This first song appeals more to the punk side of things wrote in a E Major scale that is variated a bit. because of our genre being Grunge our vocals will change from song to song depending on the actual attitude of the song. We have a couple coming up that are clean vocals and some more course ones. Listen to soundgard or Stone Temple Pilots, hell even Pearljam and you will see that from song to song vocal variate (Pearl Jam not so much).
Point being it is a mixed genre so there wll be plenty of different sounding songs coming from us. Primitavely we hold a punk sound because that is the basis to Grunge, when grunge hit main stream pop culture and 70's metal was thrown in giving Sound Garden and Pearl Jam. Nirvana was more of the pop mixture than the metal side of the genre. Ironically the genre ended up splitting itself in half.
Pop and Punk
The pop side sounded more like hard rock.
The punk side was earlier on in the genre and it sounded rougher like Skin Yard and Malfunkshun
I apologize for Uther's berserker typing streak... All he does sometimes is Type TYpe TYPE. It can be really annoying. Don't worry though. If you say anything that isn't correct in a law a physics he'll lecture you for twenty minutes. So technically you can call that RPing. Give him a point Charley :P
Haha. As I was saying. Uther doesn't know when to quit. If we keep talking about it though, he'll start lecturing us lol. Which might be quite comical.
Yes we do write the sheet music but we have actually wrote it out in tab form instead of Notation.
This is about as simple as our music should get though. We're taking a lot of time trying to perfect or writing style through our next song but organizing and getting a steady even flow down is a lot harder then it seems. 3 members of the band (including me) are in college and the other 2 are juniors in highschool so we have tons of scheduling conflicts that we're still in the middle of ironing out. I just cant wait until we get things moving better.
We have gotten a Behringer 800 Watt Mixing board with a built in interface to hook to our smaller recording system. As you can tell from this recording its all a little mucky and this is because we recorded it with a 4 channel recording system.
2 mics on drums and a mic in front of the bass and guitar amp. We're working on slowly upgrading our equipment for when we do start to record things at a faster pace but as of the moment we're just jamming and having fun with it all.
I never learned how to play guitar but I remember my sister and I at the piano trying to compose something original (good times lol^^).
I listened to your song a few times, glad there was no growl :), found my head bopping along the more I listened to it... particularly liked what I heard at 1:09 - 1:12 but not really sure about what I think about how it got finished (2:22 onwards). I think overall I was left with a fragmented "raw not polished but I kinda like it" feeling? not sure if that's a good description - still ... way better then anything I could come up with :)
We are in the middle of writing our next song and this one is taking sometime so i hope it turns out better by a long shot. Its just that coming together to practice as much as is needed can really be hard sometimes.
yes but might i remind you Mamba this is our first song and the intentions for this was to show people that we arent just a group of silly children that want to say "HEY IM IN A BAND!" (like 90% of all of them)
We have pulled in a harmonic guitarist and hope to keep to the grunge style but lean a little more away from the punk side of grunge and more towards a mix of grunge with current metal (without screamo shit).
I like the song
:P
but i know that we can do way better and thats we are taking our sweet time on our future songs as if we were disarming a bomb with a wiring harness the size of an underground sewage main...
The next song is very softcore metal with a hint of hopelessness =DD
I'm totally kidding, but not completely. Lol. Point being: It's gonna take your face and destroy it. In the most melodically beautiful way possible. Completely different than this cord crunching yelling crap we got here. ; )
