The entertaining thing about Obama is that he is setting up the country for a 10-15 years reign of democratic presidents.

1. He is investing in expensive programs that will be popular to low income voters in a few years.. when their effects are felt and the costs will be forgotten. Those programs like medicare are distinctly liberal ideas, so there is no way a republican candidate can benefit from them.

2. The opposition to Obama comes in the form of a right wing Tea Party movement, which is forcing out moderate republican candidates (Charlie Crist, John McCain) and turning the republican party sharply to the right.

So get ready for another decade or two of Obamas, Clintons and Pelosis.. because if the alternative is Sarah Palin and Michael Steele.. even the americans will elect a guy with Hussein as a middle name.

If you want to talk about a group of people who are screwing our country over, look at the mexicans. Hundreds if not thousands pour over our border daily. They were not born here and have entered our country illegally. They have no right to be here. Those African Americans who are here were born here and have just as many rights as anyone else. Have a problem with mexicans if you're going to be prejudiced against a race.

I am pretty sure everyone agrees with you archi... it's not hard not to. The problem is, that only the cholo's (mexican gangsters for those of you who don't know) are the ones "ruining" the country. Alot of the other ones are looking for opportunity here, getting it, saving up money, then going back. But I agree. We need to put up a bigger wall... they are really way too abundant in Texas... and it's getting on my nerves.

Some are getting licenses too in the U.S. and they are not even citizens O_0. Soooo many illegals that have them should not have them. They should become citizens first in order to get it. That would fix some.

So in conclusion, yes, they would bother to vote for "anyone".

See, you can't take videos like that and think that's how all Americans are.  Those videos are made up of days of going out and asking questions and filtering out all the good answers so only the stupid people remain.  I could do the same thing anywhere in Europe and make you guys look like idiots who know nothing about the world they live in.

Next....with you being someone from Finland, I find your comments to be additionally hilarious.  Generations of your family have slept comfortably under a blanket of protection against aggression from the east granted by these idiots you speak of.  Furthermore, I suppose you never asked yourself how it came to be that these idiots are the most powerful country economically, politically, and militarily.  If that country is filled with idiots, what does that say about the rest of the world I wonder?

I'm obviously referring to post ww2.  Regarding the winter war and the continuation war, I know all about it.  In fact, I know infinitely more of the subject than you do apparently.  I love this part where you really show your ignorance:

I am almost embarrassed for you concerning how little you know of the history of your own damn country.  It is quite ironic that you are in this thread calling Americans ignorant when this one knows more about your own country than you do.

I wrote a rather large paper four years ago concerning the actions of the German (Austrian really) mountain troops in Lappland.  There they fought and died in the defense of Finland against Soviet attacks.  At the end of the war, the Finns gave thanks to their German brothers in arms by turning on them.  After Finland had given the Soviet Union land in appeasement to end the war, the Germans had to bail out as well and were in the process of withdrawing to Norway.  While at first the Finns were hesitant to fight their former allies, their new Soviet overlords were aware of this and demanded action.  So, in effort to appease their new Soviet overlords, the Finns started launching attacks at the retreating Germans.  So, as you see, I am also well versed in Finnish hospitality as well.

I realize that small countries love to romanticize these types of stories to make it sound like they are unconquerable.  Iceland similarly likes to believe that they defeated the United Kingdom in the 3 "cod wars".  They have netcutters and anchors sitting in museums describing how they "defeated the British".  I don't wish to belittle the efforts of the Winter War and the Continuation War.  I personally love the David vs Goliath stories like this.  However, I think you have taken a blind patriotic stance concerning them rather than looking at them objectively.  If you think those wars are what stopped Soviet aggression against your country for the rest of the century, then you are sorely mistaken.  If you wish to pursue the subject further, I can go into greater detail concerning why.  To sum it up in a few sentences however, post WW2 Finland is a shell of its former self militarily.  And the Red Army of 1939 was a total joke compared to how advanced it would become just 3-4 years later.  Just ask the Germans about that.  Furthermore, the Continuation war was nothing but a sideshow for the Soviet Union in the later phases of the war.  When it comes down to it,the only reason that war ended was because they were busy racing the western allies to Berlin and didn't want the distraction.

Last of all...the reason Finland never joined NATO is quite simple.  It has always been in their best interest not to.  To even speak of joining NATO would only provoke some form of aggression and retaliation.    Even after the fall of the Soviet Union, countries near Russia that have joined NATO are receiving intense backlash from that decision.  Finland was just scared to rile the beast next door.  I think it was a smart decision.  Not to mention...if you have the luxury of staying neutral, its certainly a cheaper option.  Not all countries have other countries acting as counterweights to their aggressive neighbors however.

Anyhow...I await either your "mysterious" disappearence from this thread, or else another ridiculous nonsensical reply.
