Football or Soccer
21:33:01 Jul 24th 09 - Mr. Heroix:

Americans don't even know how to call games.
How can game be called football which is played by hands and egg? WTF?
Football is football, because it is played by foot and by ball. While handegg is handegg, because it's played by arms and egg-shaped thing.

23:00:18 Jul 24th 09 - Mr. Evan:

the egg is a ball, lol.... kinda

also they use their feet alot in football, just not as much :-P

but they do kick the ball several times in a game. And i'm most likely wrong but maybe a football is a foot long? (i really dunno)

01:35:56 Jul 25th 09 - Mr. Vuggy:

Just short evan. 11-11.25 inches. Lol and hero, you really want to flame? It was merely asking which sport you liked more and why, not that you make fun of all americans just because they play something different than what you like. >.>

Charley, It's possible, just not probable lol. But not all the runningbacks and quarterbacks are big you know.. In fact a majority of them go down in one hit... You'd need a big dude like me to want to carry like 5 ppl to the end zone ha.

01:38:30 Jul 25th 09 - Sir Pubeguin The Hairy Cheezburger:

01:49:44 Jul 25th 09 - Sir Pubeguin The Hairy Cheezburger:

Works either way. You are calling rugby stupid as well if you are going to say that heroix. And I've just gotta point out... WHAT'S THE FIRST DEFINITION?! :P

Think about where you found it and then think again.

07:38:07 Jul 25th 09 - Mr. Brett The Hitmanhart:

The rules of football were codified in England by the Football Association in 1863, and the name association football was coined to distinguish the game from the other forms of football played at the time, specifically rugby football. The term soccer originated in England, first appearing in the 1880s as a slang abbreviation of the word "association"

12:53:47 Jul 25th 09 - Mr. Heroix:

20:52:42 Jul 25th 09 - Mr. Vuggy:

Hero, I get your point. I have heard it called handegg multiple times. Are you done being annoying yet? Demon, I thought about it, then thought again. All I could think was taco bell. ^^

Taco Bell is pretty good... :\  Not that I can eat it anymore due to me being a health nut :p  I was telling you think about where is that site based in? Is it American or from another country? :p  American would put American Football first, another country would probably have Soccer/Association Football first :P

21:01:56 Jul 25th 09 - Mr. Angel of Death:

Well if its .edu or .org its better then .com .gov is the best place for correct info though in most cases..

03:12:53 Aug 5th 09 - Mr. Lithium:

Football, because you need a high pain tolerance to play it.

03:20:49 Aug 5th 09 - Mr. Skinny Vinny:

ya, and soccer you can't have a high pain tolerance if you want to play :)

03:22:25 Aug 5th 09 - Demonslayer Charley Deallus IV:

Spoken like a true genius....

/sarcasm

03:29:13 Aug 5th 09 - Mr. Arthur Dent:

*backs out in silence*

04:18:37 Aug 5th 09 - Mr. Brett The Hitmanhart:

We invented English, therefore we get to decide. Its Football not soccer. Dont like it, go invent your own language and call it what you want.

04:27:46 Aug 5th 09 - Mr. Vuggy:

Actually... It was not invented.. It came from a mix of Danish, Norman French, and Germanic languages. It evolved over time into what we no, there is no inventor.  Kittie, they are called shinguards. And keepers have gloves (if they want, smart thing to do :) lol). Let's just agree both are good sports, depends what you grew up with (except for me, I played soccer for 7 years and got bored).

04:43:47 Aug 5th 09 - Mr. Brett The Hitmanhart:

Actually its a blend of gaelic and latin. And by invent, i define it as laying down the rules which define grammer, spelling and punctuation. So its ours, get ur own and remember...basketball is netball for soft boys and baseball is rounders for soft boys!

05:05:56 Aug 5th 09 - Mr. Arthur Dent:

"i define it as laying down the rules which define grammer" Then why do you Brits misronounce some of your own words?  example: Aluminum, you say it as though it were Aluminium.  At least the Brits I've heard say it.  there are some other words as well...

06:11:07 Aug 5th 09 - Mr. Evan:

completely off topic here...

I saw brits and yanks and thought of things other countries call each other which reminded me of a spanish teacher i had that was from Argentina that called americans United statesians (because of north and south america she considered us ALL americans and thus people in the u.s... united statesians.)

09:30:10 Aug 5th 09 - Sir Sorra:

Soccer is wayyy more popular internationally

Football is only an American thing, it isent even taking root in other countries. while soccer is. They have that new MLS for North America.

If you want to watch to lines crash over and over again, watch football.

If you want to watch amazing plays based on skill not size watch soccer .

Theirs a reason football isent taking root anywhere else but America...

It's cause no where else in the world do people have a Big mac with coke and large fries for breakfast regularly. Let me rephrase, that, no where in the world do people have fast food in general as regularly as you do in America.

IE: People arent supposed to naturally that big that common.

09:36:18 Aug 5th 09 - Sir Sorra:

IE: People aren't supposed to naturally be that big that common.*

11:47:25 Aug 5th 09 - Sir Pubeguin The Hairy Cheezburger:

yup and thats why people from UK love rugby. they have some big one people 2 ;)

16:18:42 Aug 5th 09 - Mr. Megas Nikos:

FIFA means Federation of international Football Associations. Wherever you go, in every country they play football. They watch football. They eat with football. They drink with football. They live with football. Everyone knows Messi, Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic, Drogba. Everyone knows which team win the last Champion League. They don't even know what soccer means. Here in Greece we have great tradition with basketball, we have one of the biggest national team up to 20 years in the world. We have 2 of the biggest basketball clubs in the world, but everyone talk about football. That is football. And remember one day even usa will play football.

16:38:36 Aug 5th 09 - Mr. Vuggy:

If you want to watch amazing plays based on skill not size watch soccer .

That is a lie. The only big people in football are usually the Offensive Linemen, Defensive Linemen, and MAYBE Fullback. The rest are way smaller and faster. Do not even think that football involves no skill, because it does, and if you are saying that football has no skill in it, then soccer has no skill in it. Why does this thread keep coming back... They're both good sports. >.>

17:35:07 Aug 5th 09 - Demonslayer Charley Deallus IV:

^But you are the one that loves to poke fun about the players in "football" that dive in order to get calls from referees.  Association football does not have instant replays for penalties(I could be wrong...I am not a person that reads all regulations about it) and the referees HAVE to make a call on the spot if they see someone go down.  I am not 100% sure on this.  American sports have replays for almost everything(Except Baseball?) and faking things would be impossible.  Still, that does not stop athletes from trying to get an edge over another person.  Every sport has people who would try to do anything to win.  I love it when incompetent people just post pictures of people diving like it is a reason why American football is better.

17:45:34 Aug 5th 09 - Mr. Vuggy:

You make no sense, I am the one who likes to 'poke fun'? I never said anything about diving. And cut blocking is very effective if that's what you're pertaining to, the other person either gets a blown ACL or backs up, either way, no play. I did not post any pictures except the soccer one... >.>

17:56:10 Aug 5th 09 - Demonslayer Charley Deallus IV:

Sorry, that was Skinny Vinny.

17:56:33 Aug 5th 09 - Mr. Arthur Dent:

What's wrong with instant replays? They are just a way to make the sport more fair while giving the viewers time to have a beer :D. And actually, American football is the only sport of ours that has instant replays, cause we really only have our football, soccer, and basketball as main sports. Like Vuggy said, both sports are good, I would play them both.

22:30:37 Aug 5th 09 - Mr. Vuggy:

I think that just about settles it... xD
