Mr. Rubyian

Lived in Era 27, got 1 heir(s) (Rubyian) and was a member of Music

After the death of his family; Rubyian, now an orphan, left Fantasia and headed to Mantrax to seek his fortune there. He built his city next to a river, which is where he spent most of his time thinking. His family had lived for 2 eras before this only to be killed off in one war. Rubyian, the sole survivor, did not take his families name and instead, forged ahead into a new life to make a name for himself in battle.

After establishing himself economically in Mantrax, Rubyian started to build an army. He recieved multiple invitations from the greedy kings around him to join their empires but he refused them all and instead chose to join The Legion, a group of warring rulers who were well organized and well able to defend themselves. They accepted Rubyian into their alliance after one of his friend who had also left Fantasia for Mantrax asked the leader of The Legion to accept Rubyian. After brief negotiations, Rubyian was welcomed as a full member of the group.

After becoming a member of The Legion, Rubyian was now offered protection from Allies and so he was able to attack and take over many small cities in the surrounding area. After securing a sizeable area of land he decided to build walls to protect his inner core area which consisted of his Capitol city called Rubyia, Some great mines, and the bulk of his military might. He set about readying for any attackers who might dare to approach and then rallied the rest of his military might to face the enemies of The Legion as needed. Right away after becoming settled, Rubyian was soon called to war. The barbarians known as the Luna Wolves were on the attack. Although the Luna Wolves were very unintelligent and and did not have many allies, they where a great military power, having over double the men and weaponry that The Legion controlled. The Legion however, stood together, fearless in the face of the large horde and prepared to defend its hard earned Empire.

After many great battles, things were starting to even out. The lines held and The Legion was still standing in the face of the Luna Wolves. But they still did not have the power to fight back and take back what was rightfully theirs. However, an alliance began to form between The Legion and other groups who did not like the Luna Wolves and all were determined to once and for all rid the lands of the barbarian menace that was the Luna Wolves.

All hope was lost. Soon after the alliance formed, it fell. Foul tricks were used on the group known as the Predators that weakened them. Another small group known as the Kingdom of Skulls was almost completely destroyed and the remaining members of the Kingdom decided to join The Legion instead. The battle waged and the balance was maintained but then in the north, a a dread sight appeared. The remaining three members of the Kingdom of Skulls had built up new cities all around Rubyian but they still had no military might ready. And then, terrible news. From atop the towers in the Rubyian's great capitol, Rubyia, a shout rang out. From the north came two armies of more than 100,000 strong barbarians in each. And from the east cam two armies, one of just under 500,000 barbarians and another that was made up of 20,000 of the strongest warriors the barbarians had ever fielded, the Berserkers. Very soon the horde of men swept across the land taking out many small cities that were out of the protection of Rubyians main kingdom area. The cities of Five and Iron where the first to fall. Then Rubyians last great fortress north of his main area fell as well. It was Kennys City. With it died 2000 of the first men to ever support Rubyian when he first entered Mantrax. But Rubyian had no time to mourn this loss, for soon the two barbarian armies that had come from the north where now at the very gates of his kingdom. Combined, they where an army of 220,000 men.

At the walls, Rubyian had an army of only 20,000 that was supported by 10,000 catapaults. Reinforcements were dispatched from Rubyians Southern lands to help support. They consisted of 10,000 archers, from the woodland area. All of them well trained, but Still this was not enough. Soon, all the resources Rubyian had were being poured into the defense of his kingdom. But still, he could not raise an army to face the barbarian horde. As he stood atop the battlements of Rubyia, watching his armies moving towards the distant walls, he felt a wave of hopelessness come over him. Their was one ray of hope though, the three remaining members of the Kingdom of Skulls were proving to be a very powerful group. They had erected great mining cities in both the southern and western areas of Rubyians Kingdom. They also began to send some troops to the walls. They were exceptionally fast at deployment of their armies and that ment that the walls were being fortified every day with fresh reinforcements. AMong the group of three was a great scholar. Previously, Rubyian had built a small tower to the East of Rubyia were he had sent a group of scholars to try and learn the art of magic. He had succeeded and had been quite proud of himself for it but this new person, the member of the Kingdom of Skulls, soon put his scholars to shame, summoning great powers from the heavens and using his power to help magically fortify the walls surrounding the kingdom. But would this be enough?

The walls still stood. The barbarian horde was still there but they could not pass. They had done everything they could and still they had not broken through. After a 24 day siege assault on the wall the barbarian armies were getting restless. Then even though they themselves feared them, the barbarian army asked for the aid of the berserkers. The berserkers would arrive in only a few days and then the wall would truely be put to the test. How long could it hold?

The berserkers were defeated!! After some good strategy, a small group of archers snuck uff the wall in the middle of the nigh and angered the berserkers and led them to the northern end of the wall. Their, 10,000 catapaults had been set up to destroy them. After a brief barrage, the berserkers were forced to retreat. Rubyian, watching from afar, breathed a sigh of relief. But his relief was short lived. Out of the night arrived a messenger from the great queen, Ashley. He had come from the powerful fortress of Sweet Escape. He brought news of two huge barbarian armies arriving just north of Sweet Escape. After sending out a scout, Rubyian was appalled to find that the Great Fortress had been captured by the Barbarian soon after the Messanger had arrived. And the barbarian armies were sweeping out to the west to attack his kingdom and the three ex-members of the Kingdom Of Skulls. Reports soon flooded in that their were somewhere around 10 armies sighted, each comprising of more than 10,000 men. And not far behind these armies was a giant army containing almost 500,000 men. Despair and hatred of these barbarians flooded into Rubyians heart. His shout went out and soon messengers had been sent out with orders to all his armies. No retreat, fight to the very end. He refused to come quietly. The next day, he himself got on his horse and headed out across the southern plains of Rubyia, towards the great Rubyia Fortress. He was determined that if he was to fall, he would fall fighting to defend everyone that he could.

Everything was in ruins. Every man, woman, and child in the entire kingdom had been either slaughtered or put into slavery. The knights had been forced into a retreating defense and then were surrounded and slaughtered. Rubyian survived the initial attacks and fell back to his biggest mining city, Glittering. With him was a group of 1000 poorly trained archers and 500 supporting catapaults. The final battle to defend the city quickly became a slaughter. Dead and dieing rangers lay everywhere, and the glow off the burning catapaults could be seen for miles around. Rubyian was at last the last man left alive. With nothing left to defend he jumped off the southern battlements of the city into the river and was washed away. 2 days later he was finally pulled from the river by a travelling group of musicians. Or at least that was what they appeared to be before Rubyian fainted from exhaustion.....

Mr. Rubyian

Lived in Era 28, got 0 heir(s) and was a member of Music

⇐The Golden Age:⇒

Rubyian awoke to the sound of hammers. He hurt all over but he managed to pull on his clothes which had been placed next to the small straw mattress he had been lying on. He stepped out of the room he was in and was shocked at what he found. He was inside a small city, with workers running back and forth all over the place working on the as yet unfinished walls. A man stood before him dressed in the robes of a musician but he carried the sword and shield of a warrior. He introduced himself as Hemmer but asked that Rubyian call him Spoon instead. He was the leader of the group that had rescued Rubyian. He treated Rubyian to a great feast to celebrate the construction of the city and Rubyian's reawakening after such a long time unconscious. The next day, feeling much refreshed and in better shape than when he had awoken the day before, Spoon assigned a group of his soldiers to Rubyian and Rubyian set off to build his own city. He was now a member of the group lead by Spoon. It was known simply as Music. His new city was to be built in the very core of the new empire that Music was building up.

His new city was finally built. Though nowhere near completed, his first city was built and now was sending a steady flow of gold, food, and lumber to support Rubyian's new army. He now also sent out small armies to build fortresses, one in the north, and one in the south.

The kingdom was now in all out conquest. All the kingdoms in the area fell down before them and all of there cities and gold had soon been pillaged and either destroyed or taken over. Music and its allies started to spread out across the map building one of the greatest kingdoms yet known in history.

⇐The Dark Times:⇒

It all started one calm fall morning. The birds were singing, the trees were ablaze with their new fall coats, and everything was at piece. Rubyian was standing atop the parapets af a recently liberated fortress called Tiam. He had liberated it as well as a nearby Mine only a week before. But as he stood atop the city walls at peace with the world, a war had already begun. In the eastern lands of Music's territory was a great kingdom known as Zeon. Music had been allies with Zeon for many years and their conquests together had become legendary in the world of Visual Utopia. Unfortunately though, trouble was brewing in their ranks. Six rulers of the Zeon kingdom were discovered as they plotted to destroy Zeon. The great king of Zeon named Messiah ordered their destruction but it was much easier said than done. The revolution of these six men was ultimately doomed to failure but the war against them was costly. Soon after, more traiters were discovered in the ranks of Music's other greatest ally, The Brotherhood Of The Wolf.

Music, while being a smaller kingdom than either Zeon or The Brotherhood, was much better organized and had much stronger leadership and thus it managed to stay out of all scandals. But Music was also not without trouble.....Music's leadership was unfaltering, strong, in any situation. But the truth was soon revealed that its members were not so strong. Many members such as Rubyian, Kobuskan, Lucimorth, and a few others were dedicated and unfaltering, pouring all their time and efforts into the glory of Music. But many members were not so true to the cause. Corruption had come to the ranks of Music. Not the same corruption that had hit Zeon and The Brotherhood in the form of traitors, but corruption none the less. Some members of Music had become lazy and uncaring. They made their fortune and then headed back to their mansions and castles to live merrily, not caring about the cause that they had once sworn loyalty to.

But deception, lies, and traitorous activities were not the only thing ailing the kingdom of Music.....A new enemy had arisen in the south. An ancient foe of Music that had previously defeated them in ages past. Carnage, a great horde that seemed much like the horde known as the Luna wolves that Rubyian had faced before. And that similarity was what scared him the most. If he had lost to the Luna Wolves, how could he hope to face this new foe. But he steeled his heart and hid his fears, it was war! Rubyian built up his armies and raised his banner high over the walls for all his enemies to see. He prepared a great army of twenty thousand of his bravest axemen and started south. Soon he found a city called Hollywood that flew the banners of the Freedom Fighters, a minor kingdom that was allied with Carnage. He soon had his camp set up and the city under seige. It was an easy win he though. But this was not to be.....The city was much tougher than it had seemed when he had first seen it. Inside was 15 thousand strong soldiers. And even though none of them would have been able to take on a single one of Rubyians axemen in a one on one fight, they had the advantage of the city walls. The battle was a deadlock....Rubyian sent for reinforcements of seven thousand more axemen. As soon as the new army arrived it was quickly merged into his ranks and a seige of Hollywood began. After 7 long days of siege, the walls looked like they would soon fall. But unknown to Rubyian, a new danger approached from inside the walls......In desperation, the men of the Freedom Fighters had resorted to using ancient cursed magic upon Rubyian. Fire was summoned from the skies upon Rubyian and his army. As meteors fell all around him and the field filled with a sea of blood and destroyed dreams and pride, Rubyian ordered the retreat. Only five thousand men made it out alive. And worse was yet to come. The ones that died had probably been the lucky ones. As the exhausted men of the Ruby Army fled from the battlefield, a fearful sight met their eyes. An army of warriors from Carnage had snuck up behind them even as the fire had started to fall. The army rode in among the axemen and slaughtered them all. Those that survived the initial attack were captured and burned in a massive pit, dug by the soldiers of Carnage. Rubyian and several of his bravest men managed to survive though. They had stayed behind on the battlefields of Hollywood to search for survivors. When they saw a small squad of messengers from the Carnage army headed for Hollywood, they assumed the worst had befallen their great army. They disguised themselves as peasants and snuck away by hitching a ride with a poor old farmer, headed for a nearby village called Snuffy. As soon as they reached Snuffy, Rubyian rallied some peasants to join him and headed for the nearby fortress of Tiam. Soon after he left, Snuffy fell to the army of Carnage. Tiam became a very critical fortress then because it became one of two fortresses that Music had left in that entire region. Rubyian's forces held on to it with everything they had. But it was ultimately a failed attempt because a week after the fall of Snuffy, Tiam was also taken.

⇐Fall From Power:⇒

With the fall of Tiam, Rubyian was no longer able to access the region that Tiam was in and was forced out of the battle in that area. But now he was ordered by Spoon to join an even bigger battle. Carnage was massing troops to the south and if Music could not stop them then the war would soon be over. RUbyian built a new fortress called Grand Piano. It was even bigger than Tiam and Rubyian had soon produced an army of over 50,000 axemen, Then, with surprising ease, he created another one. Fianally he had over 150,000 soldiers and over 200,000 men trained in the magical arts to fend off the curses from Carnage. He merged this into one great army with his fellow members of Music. The army was composed of over 500,000 men. It seemed almost invincible, almost....As soon as it was created a terrible horde from Carnage that numbered almost 2 million in number arose in the south....The army of Music was forced to reatreat to the great city of Heart Breakers. The city of Heart Breakers lived up to its name however. it almost completely stopped Carnage. The horde itself could not take it. In a David versus Goliath matchup, Heart Breakers stood up. But Carnage had more secrets in store. Behind the horde came a group of over 13,000 nazguls, the great dragons that had managed to defeat Rubyian at Tiam. There were also many other smaller armies. They spead out and bypassed the besieged Heart Breakers and headed towards Grand Piano and the other fortresses.

Before they could get to Grand Piano however, they would have to cross walls that had been previously built by Music for just such a situation. There were three walls to defend, and Rubyian was the main force behind the defense of two of them. He sent out a great army of over 150, 000 axemen to defend the main section and sent out 30,000 more axemen to help support the other section of the wall which was also being reinforced by other members of Music. But all it took was for one wall to fall....

All it took was one, but soon all had fallen, along with Grand Piano. But the majority of Rubyian's forces were saved, Rubyian sent them off the walls leaving them undefended on purpose. This was because his army was needed in the great city of Heart Breakers. It had come under a very strong seige and needed reinforcements soon. So Rubyians armies headed to Heart Breakers and managed to help keep it defended for a little while longer. But this was not enough....

Rubyian retreated behind the final Music wall, leaving behind Grand Piano and built a new fortress which he named Tiam, in honor of the men who had died under his comand at the original Tiam Fortress. He produced even bigger armies there and for a while the lines seemed to hold. then horrible news came from back home in the Music core cities. A traitor had abandoned Musics ally, The Brotherhood of the Wolf, and was now wreaking havok in the undefended Music core. He destroyed all the miing cities he could find. Music was forced into full retreat from Carnage and tried their best to fight off the traitor in their core. But they only truely finished one of these tasks... The traitor was killed, publically hung infront of all the great lords of the Brotherhood of the Wolf as an example. But the other task of stopping Carnage was impossible to complete....Carnage sent everything they had and opened up holes into Musics core. Rubyian himself was injured in a battle to try and defend his final fortress known as Ruby Castle. He was carried back into the music core and died two days later in the same bed he had woken up in so long ago when he had first joined Music.

His forces continued a hopeless fighting retreat and were eventually forced to run and hide in the mountains to the east. Music was destroyed, Rubyian was dead, Carnage was the now a power to be feared. Rubyian, lived on though. His son had escaped with a small scout that had gone to the mountains to hide. Their was no hope of rebuilding his empire anytime soon however and so for now, Carnage was king.
