Mr. Cronus

Lived in Era 37 and got 0 heir(s) .

The whites of Cronus' eyes went blue as his entire being was suffused with magic. It flowed through his veins, it seeped into his bones. He had been preparing for this moment for many months. He had at last made himself ready, and uttered the words that would make him a creature of pure magic. No longer would other spellcasters be needed to help him call upon the magic, for the magic would reside in him. He did not know if he would survive, but the idea had been too much for him to resist.

He felt the energy seeping out of him and he panicked slightly, trying to cling onto the magic. With horror he realised his own life force was going with it, and fought all the harder because of it. His spellweavers saw what was happening, and they added their strength to his, pulling the magic back. Finally he had control once more. The magic receded slightly, but it was still there, stored inside of him. his eyes eventually returned to their normal colour, and it was over.

Cronus looked around all in front of him, his new powers over magic giving him confidence. He closed his eyes and uttered and incantation, and smiled as, in the distance, he heard the screams of dying men, as the fire he had summoned rained down on them from the skies.

The magic was receding. Cronus could sense it. After many years of his power, it was at last coming to and end. Whether he had exhausted his magic supply, or whether it was simply his age, Cronus did not know. He had one last task to perform before he handed over control of the cities he had gained during the years of his reign, and that was to pass down what magic he had left to his son, and then help him to do the same as he had to, to gather more to fortify his mind, to make himself stronger.

It would be several years before his son had full control, but he would gain the magic in only a few months, once he was properly prepared. After that Cronus would train him in the arts of magic further, divulging all he had learnt in the years of his rule.

Cronus looked on as his son bowed to him, the blue tint to his eyes still fading even then. He was happy with all his son had learned, and he was also satisfied that he had impressed on him the importance of not misusing the magic enough so that he could be trusted with it. This more than anything had relieved Cronus, for he would have been forced to take the magic from his son if he had not proved trustworthy enough. The expereince could have easily have driven him mad, or, if his mind was too weak, it could even kill him. But that had not come to pass, and Cronus was grateful that he had found himself and heir who he could trust.

He dismissed his son, watching as he walked away. Tomorrrow would be a big day for him, although he did not know it.. It was the day that he was crowned ruler of the nation Cronus had worked so hard to bring into existence. For a time he would not make any decisions by himself, and Cronus would always be by his side, guiding him. But whatever he decided in the end would be what would happen, although for a large amount of the time it would have been Cronus telling him what would be best. But after that, when Cronus' time came, he would be the lone leader of a now mighty nation. Cronus could only hoped he had prepared his son enough for the task.
