any other pc games
19:54:41 Jan 11th 12 - kzoolczat (Mr. Ymionvu):

hello fellow VU nutters!

I need another pc game to play.  Any recommendations?? must not need joysticks or any crap like that. Mouse only. lol

I just played through 'The Book of Unwritten Tales' with my gf and little girl. (point and click sorta game)

^ Would recommend this if you like the genre as it is a very well made game.

Company of Heroes is also amazing!

I have got Anno 2070  (but not so sure about this one yet :/ )  and Syberia looks pish so I wont be playing that.

I also need a crack for my copy of Panzer Corps. :(

any strategy / point n click stuff would be cool.

Any helP???

cheers!
x

21:39:21 Jan 11th 12 - Polydeuces (Mr. Forgotten Warrior):

Hmm, Wizard 101 is family friendly, it's like a strategy RPG with wizards and shit, I tried it once for a while, pretty cool game.  I think you have to move with the keyboard though, you never mentioned that so I'm not sure and it's a downloadable game..

You could check out "kongregate.com" (currently playing Monsters Den which is a point and click strategy dungeon crawler) they have a ton of free games to play, mostly browser based but have a lot of links to other games you have to download..

Have you tried dark-orbit?  That's a pretty decent point and click browser game..

Also, are you looking for downloadable or browser based, or one that you can buy from a store? lol

22:10:56 Jan 11th 12 - kzoolczat (Mr. Markus):

cheers man! :)

I download via vuze...or can 'buy' if needs be. :P

I've never had any joy finding a browser game I liked (apart fromVU) but I'm open to trying out some recommendations.

Wizard 101 I might try with family.

Right now I'm after something fun just for me and the gf, maybe a point and click that's pretty random. lol
I used to really love Dink Smallwood and Sanitarium.  Anyone remember those? lol

22:11:57 Jan 11th 12 - kzoolczat (Mr. Markus):

p.s  off to check kongregate.com just now too. ;)

23:01:25 Jan 11th 12 - Skinny Vinny (Sir Ispy):

idk if your into shooters, but tribes ascend is a really good new pc fps.  in closed beta but real easy to get a beta key

23:24:08 Jan 11th 12 - kzoolczat (Mr. Markus):

Do i need a joystick or controller for that Vinny?

00:13:45 Jan 12th 12 - Polydeuces (Mr. Valkyros X):

You should check out steam then, because you can get sweet deals on game like 10-90% off.. plus they have random games for really cheap too.  (i dont use steam, lol)

A really good cheap strategy action/rpg is "Dungeon Defenders" I have mine on console but you can get it off of steam for pretty cheap as well.  It's a tower defense strategy game, but you actually control a "hero" one of 4 classes (PC might have more now I'm not sure) and you can set up defences for waves of monsters that you can fight against as well.. don't need joystick for that, but you can use a PS3 controller on your PC if you have, windows 7 I think it is... anyways great game..
check it out here: http://dungeondefenders.com/

Oh, and you can't forget runescape.com lol!

00:36:47 Jan 12th 12 - kzoolczat (Mr. Dorforc):

cool, i'm off to check your links.

Kingdom Rush on Kongregate.com was quite good. Any others on there?

00:46:25 Jan 12th 12 - Endless (Mr. Zaphod Beeblebrox):

yeah I know, not a pc game...  tv games ;)

you might want to look into those Kinect games for Xbox ? that way you (or the gf or your daughter) can use your (their) body as the controller :p

00:49:09 Jan 12th 12 - Ashe Annie Fortune Lightshield (Ms. Fortune Tries Solo):

Have you heard of Stronghold? It is a Real-Time strategy game where you build your kingdom, gather supplies and war. This game can be played single player or online. I highly recommend Stronghold Crusader or Stronghold Legends. The others weren't so good. If you prefer Turn-Based Strategy I recommend the Sid Meier's Civilization series. I've been playing them since the Civilization II on my Windows 2000. :3

01:08:51 Jan 12th 12 - kzoolczat (Mr. Dorforc):

Hey Jules. :)  thanks!

My xbox is at my m8s. I have heard that kinekt is really good tho!

01:12:11 Jan 12th 12 - kzoolczat (Mr. Dorforc):

@ Ashe Annie, I do like games like that. However, Civilisation is a bit too nicey nicey for me though. I've got it and rarely play it due to lack of combat etc.

I am going to take your advice and download Stronghold Crusader or Legends.

Have you played company of heroes? I highly recommend it if you like this kinda thing.

01:14:04 Jan 12th 12 - Ashe Annie Fortune Lightshield (Ms. Fortune Tries Solo):

I recommend Crusader for newbs, as legend is a tad more detailed and complicated. I believe I will give Company of Heroes a go.

01:27:08 Jan 12th 12 - kzoolczat (Mr. Moglolrox):

cheers. :)   I'm downloading now. Hope ya enjoy CoH!

02:09:04 Jan 12th 12 - Polydeuces (Mr. Forgotten Warrior):

Yes there are many, "Protectors IV.V (4.5)" you might really like "The Kings League" umm, "Civilizations Wars" "Pandemic 2" "Warlords: Call to Arms" "WarLight" is really good another cool one is "Rebuild 1 or 2" "Battalion Nemesis" and many many many many others lol.. Make an account on the site you can get cool accomplishments and stuff lol.. Anyways, when you're on the website just go to the "Strategy & Defense Games" and there are hundreds of games lol.  Most are phenominal quality.. a really cool thing about this website is anyone can make a game and upload it, there are new games uploaded a few times a week.

06:07:15 Jan 12th 12 - Ryan the Archion (Sir Ryan The Archion XIII):

Why don't you try guys Total War? It's the best war strategy game for me. I really love how you command thousands soldiers in the field. Also it has large variety of ages (Shogun and Shogun 2 for Samaurai and Ninja Fanatic, Rome and Barbarian Invasion for those who love Caesar, Medieval for Knightly actions, Empire for Musketeers and Bayonets, these come from different CDs) that you could play. Different tactics that you need to implement. From field battle to castle or fort besieging. Although it requires high end PCs to work properly.

06:50:41 Jan 12th 12 - Zond (The Valhalla):

Coolcat man, first off. Before i suggest games to you, you must be good at VU before you "move on" :P

but once you do, come back and read this. League of Legends. Lets play!!!

07:48:18 Jan 12th 12 - Polydeuces (Mr. Marvin The Martian):

I've got the Rome: Total War battle chest with alllll of them except the newest shogun great games.

07:57:30 Jan 12th 12 - Jesus Left Toe (Lord Iesus Rex):

Hmm, I'm an old Strategy type person,

Command and Conquer series are quite fun, you can get all of those old ones remastered for windows 7 as well.

"Orignal War", i loved this one so much i acctually paid for it, it's a RTS, but you only get the troops you start with, so more of a strategy than simply training 100's of troops like in most of them.

StarCraft is also good fun, though i could never hack the new one.

08:40:56 Jan 12th 12 - Mr. Kay:

you tried the following two games there good and you can play with your familey and friends (there bothe free you just download them and play and their realy easy to under stand)

crossfire

08:41:34 Jan 12th 12 - Polydeuces (Mr. Marvin The Martian):

Most of those games, are good in their own way but they are just way to slow... A good one like those, only 100x better is www.batheo.com

18:28:34 Jan 12th 12 - kzoolczat (Mr. Moglolrox):

@ Ryan & Jesus (<Roheran?)

I've got Total war Rome and Napoleon. I always simulate the battles as I'm shite.

Command & Conquer has been my long time fav..but Company of Heroes beats it now imo!

Anything else similar to Command & Conquer I would like to know about.

@Kay & Poly, cheers for those links.

@Zondernub I will hand u yer arse on a plate once i get signed up for that game and learn the ropes. lol

08:29:24 Feb 7th 12 - Heripy (Mr. Fapfap):

When it comes to the computer I mostly play VU and Civ5. Otherwise Skyrim and MW3 on my 360.

If you want Browser based and your into roleplaying, perhaps you'd enjoy renaissancekingdoms.com, its basically takes place in 14th century europe and you actually rp in real cities, in their actual locations, so england cities are many many days travel away from greek cities, and you could potentially travel from one end of europe to another. If you do join, put ' Heri_beauclerc ' down as your sponsor.

08:41:21 Feb 7th 12 - Architect (The Architect):

Team Fortress 2 is now Free to Play....just sayin.

15:38:35 Feb 7th 12 - Seven (Mr. Morgrin II):

get Medieval 2 Total War & The Kingdoms Expansion..( You can get both off of Steam for like <$15 http://store.steampowered.com/ )  afterwards go to www.moddb.com and find the Third Age mod, essentially it changes one of your Kingdoms' expansion campaigns into Middle Earth map, very accurately portrayed representation of Middle-Earth found in the books and movies, and the textures are well made. Taking control of a huge force of 5,000 Uruk Raiders or replaying massive battles like the ones at Pelenor Fields, or the siege of Minas Tirith. Many settlements custom made that give a very realistic touch to the game. The Campaign is both enjoyable and re-playable, especially so if you're interested in Tolkien. Would highly advise giving this a whirl, as for any other Total War game. There are tons of great mods for every Total War game in the series, they're definitely worth taking a look into considering the mods are free and pretty simple to install ( don't need to be a computer genius, to be quite honest I'm pretty damn computer illiterate). Just a suggestion mate, but you could always try www.armorgames.com if you're looking for browser, they, like kongregate, have decent strategy/defense games if that's what you're into.

15:42:10 Feb 7th 12 - Seven (Mr. Morgrin II):

Oh, about the last post. Medieval 2 together with the kingdoms expansion & third age mod is a space Whore. Also shouldn't really run it unless your computer is above average. Being an older game you may have to play in compatibility mode with Windows 2000 or XP..

If you're looking for turn-based.. try The Battlefields or Utopia.
I'm pretty sure VU is based off of Utopia...
^ Can anyone confirm this? Utopia came out in '98 I believe, if I remember correctly :-)

22:11:29 Feb 7th 12 - Mr. Chadee:

The perfect point and click game in my opinion which involves ALOT of logical thinking is Syberia and Syberia 2....really really cool games :)

01:35:18 Feb 8th 12 - kzoolczat (Mr. Taclooc):

Cheers.

That Siberia is a bit shit looking..

22:56:50 Feb 16th 12 - kzoolczat (Mr. Orcdorf):

cod zombies for iphone.
