Dragons A Gold Theif

A dragon attacked "---" We lost 0 Swordsmen, 0 Archers, 0 Knights, 0 Magicians, 0 Catapults and 106675 peasants in the battle. The dragon stole 7172084 of our gold!

Out of interest, why would a dragon steal gold? I mean what's it do, pop down the local weekend farmers market with its loot?

It's from Greek Mythology that dragons were sent down by the gods to guard treasure. So naturally these dragons are spawned and need some treasure to guard.
