Why is it that a city under seige can not sustain itself if it has its own farms? I currently have a rather large city under seige, and am doing my best to sustain it. does it take more farms to feed a city under seige or something?

farms are usually outside the city walls, therefore when your town ia under seige peasants can not get out of your town to your farms...
