The main armies of the Shining Sun finally arrived. With a hundred siege engines, they were finally at the Elite's command, and now the real battle could get underway.

What the hell? 100 knights push an entire army back? There are such things as polehammers, you know..

What is the point if both sides have infinite numbers of troops and are allowed to kill as many as they like? The battle's going to keep on going until one side or the other godmods 'the enemy army runs away. hehehehehe'...

(Ok but can we just post strategies and you decide on how effective they are and what the losses are? It would be fairer.)

*Wraith's squad were quickly through with the small group of soldiers. He saw that Verthias was done and  they saw another group of soldiers coming at him. Wraith started aiming and unstringing arrows at the new group. BK assisted him with some handy spells while Karl and Chris recovered from the primary attack.

An arrow flew into Wraith's left shoulder and he cried in pain. The offending archer was quickly shot down but the damage was done. Wraith snapped the arrow but left the arrow head in the wound. He then drew his dagger to face the coming army. With a look and a nod to Chris and Karl, the three of them charged at the coming squad.*

[damn, forgot Death wasn't on my team :-P]

Maethros took the archer along with him and together they fought through the lines of enemy soldiers towards the first siege engine and when they got to the towerlike weapon they busted the wheels off from the inside at its weakest point and then regrouped with the rest of the men.  1 down....499 to go....suddenly Mr. Charley returned to the battlefield with infantry reinforcements and they continued the battle towards the other siege weapons.  Many men were lost due to the intensity of the fighting but luckily the archers were keeping under cover behind the lines of soldiers and were taking out the stronger enemies first.  The second siege weapon was a simple battering ram and Mr. Charley slaughtered the men carrying it and then cut off the handles for carrying it so that it was useless.  2 down.....498 to go......it would be a long day

A Shining Sun message courier arrived at the Shining Sun siege HQ. He said that all troops were to pull back immediately, and the orders were direct from the Shining Sun Emperor.
Something serious was obviously afoot at HQ!

(To Shining Sun: the NPCs will all just turn round and retreat unless you tell them otherwise.
To Golden Banner: That ought to have confused the NPCs. Get them while they're clueless!)

*Killer sees this bad turn of the war. There is nothing that can be done for HQ if they are all dead. "Turn and fight you cowards!" He charges into the battlefield, skillfully dodging between the men and sticking his sword into their legs. Who said smallness hadn't got its advantages? He saw an arrow fly past his head like a bolt of lightning. He felt the whish of air blowing against his head. He turned and saw Klarf with his bow out, who grinned. Killer sighed. He turned around again just to avoid being trampled. He saw 4 men on top of each other. Klarf sure knew how to use that bow. Quicker not aiming and pulling with all your might and letting loose, more effective too... if you counted your own soldiers dead as well.

                He gathers that archers and mages to blast at the enemy while retreating, and the soldiers to pick up that dead and carry them away. They managed to get off the battlefield and started heading home without too many losses. Killer had his hands full trying to heal some of the troops. Some were fatally injured. He gets Recils to scout ahead and see what was wrong at head-quarters. It had better be something serious, thought Killer darkly, otherwise he'd give them a reason to drag the soldiers away from fighting foolishly.*

*Mr. Charley arranged all the soldiers he could find in this fashion.....Axemen up front with spearmen right behind them in case of cavalry and then swordsmen surrounding the archers so that a sneak attack from another direction would not become a slaughter Mr. Charley was with the archers along with his men and they led the march towards the enemy retreating.....never slowing down....constantly having his archers fire at the enemy as they tried to put up a decent defense for their retreat.  Mr. Charley then wondered where the rest of the forces were and halted his army and sent messengers to the other generals and their forces wondering....where the heck they were.....Mr. Charley sent out healers through his forces and set up a temporary camp with sentries and defensive positions while waiting for the rest of the army to arrive*

*Wraith followed Killer's lead. They were marching back but he kept a group of soldiers at the very front (closest to the Golden Banner fortress) to defend the retreating army. He ordered mages and archers to shoot and retreat slowly. Half would fire while the other would march and they would swap and, although a slow process, it helped tremendously at reducing losses.*

{I had to skim through it so sorry if I overrode anyone else's commands. Someone else post when we get to HQ...}

*Plato and his four troops came back onto the battle field, and they attacked then men that hadn't retreated, the rest were still making up thier minds, and the field was covered in blood and bodies*

*Plato saw Killer running up the field, and Ken came and ran to him, but Killer slashed Ken down, and Ken lay there, injured, blending in with the bodies (not dead).  Plato shot a fire blast at the 12 remaining catapults, completely destroying 1 and heavily damaging the 4 closest ones*

*Mr Charley sees the strange phenomona that occurred and a huge pack of Shining Sun troops just dissapeared....and he quickly composed himself and rallied the men again and charged towards the retreating troops while having the axemen up front with tower shields to help protect the men behind them from arrows.......a slaughter was about to occur....the mages were chanting protection spells so that enemy mages wouldnt blast apart the front lines and archers were firing nonstop....The archer and swordsmen hopped onto an armored horse and charged along with other knights into the fray firing arrows and cutting down the slow retreating troops.  The axeman stayed in the front lines with the other axemen and Maethros kept at Mr. Charley's side just behind the swordsmen line.*

Charley, I give you permission to post a victory post over the Shining Sun armies...unless a shining sun guy retreats fast!

Taking heavy losses during their retreat, the remainder of the Shining Sun armies reach HQ, only to find that the call back was a hoax, set up by the Golden Banner spies in the HQ! The spies were promptly executed, and Shining Sun counted up the troops that didn't come with them on the attack at Golden Banner.

Players now have FULL CONTROL of when/how to attack, what forces to use ect.

*Mr. Charley, after returning from the hospital in RL sees the Shining Sun HQ and has Maethros lead a commando team of assassins under the cover of darkness into the base and killing many men in their sleep while avoiding the many sentries patrolling the area.......then in the morning the main army attacks while the assassins are still inside and then they start attacking men who were rushing to defend their HQ....many of the assassins died but they took at least 5-6 men with each of them before they escaped out of the camp and joined the main army in its attack.*

And they All lived happily ever after...

*Its over Plato....we won....
