18:50:02 Dec 16th 07 - Sir Spoon: Hohoho people. I see some people that want to play EU2 in a few weeks. Well, I feel like playing Civ4! It's an awesome strategy game.. I'll explain how to get it, and you can experience it yourself. If you want to check out the demo first: download. How to install the real game, check out the lowest part of the post. Date - Will be set later Map/Mod/Patch etc - Will be chosen later Maximum amount of players - 10 for now. If interest grows I'll look for a map that can contain more players.. For the real game: Install bitlord, bittorrent, or any torrent program. Just google for bitlord or something, dowload and install. Download this torrent, and open it in your torrent program. Start the torrent manually if it doesn't start automatically, and yes, I know it'll take some time. But the game is awesome! :P Once the torrent is finished you get a few things in the map you downloaded it to (default with Bitlord: ...\Bitlord\Downloads). You unpack the PowerIso .rar file, and install this.. Reboot, and now you should be able to open the Civilization4.daa file with it. Open it, and install Civ4! Once you done that, you copy the crack in the map where the poweriso thing was aswell, and paste it into your Civ4 map. Run the 1.52 patch, it'll make Civ4 run faster =) Err, and if you still have problems with running it, copy paste the crack again, that should fix it then. I think... So who's interested? =)

19:13:18 Dec 16th 07 - Mr. Roxbury: Civ 4 is a lot of fun online. Its also really stable, unlike some other games.. like if one player drops from the game, a comp player takes over and the other guy can just IP back in when his internet goes up again.

02:01:21 Dec 17th 07 - Sir Erunion Telcontar: I've just stopped playing Civ4 then looked at this thread... I love the whole series, but I don't have any expansions for civ4 yet... Hmmm... I'll probably get BTS soon... I have however made a good world map, (with Mac) and a good Europe map (by myself). Just started the Europe map, and have had the world map for ages, so if I do join this game, those might work...

You know if I need to reinstall everything so I only have the normal version or can I just play? Sent me a PM ingame if you want to know something / give info and dates, as I tend to miss posts on these forums due all the chatting.

Here is my first hit on the part files: So you downloaded some files and there are a bunch of em... named .r00 to .r40 (for example). Well, this should clear the air for the newbs on what to do. (1) Download WinRar ( http://www.win-rar.com/download.html ). Durring the installation, it asks you a few questions. It will ask you what files to associate with WinRar. Just check what you want. But just chosing .rar will be fine. (Do not select ISO.) Then it will ask you to integrate WinRar into shell. Choose yes, and choose your context menu items that you want. (those will be options when you right click on a .rar archive. very handy!) ---------------------------------------- note: WinRar archives come in different extensions, depending on what version of WinRar the ISO was archived with. Examples: .001, .r01, .part01.rar ---------------------------------------- (2a) So now you have WInRar installed. Now it's time to extract your ISOs. Go to your folder where you have your downloaded files. If you have a crapload of files, choose list view in your folder to see what you are working with. 99% of the time, all you will have to do is right click the first file in your list (remember the "context menu options"), and choose "extract to." Then browse for a.locationer that you want your ISO extracted to and click "ok." WinRar will extract the ISO and whatever else is archived in that group of files to your destination of choice. Note: The time it takes for the ISO to extract is dependant on the speed of your computer and the ammount of files it needs to extract from. (2b) If by chance you right click your first file and you do not see "extract to" as an option, do not punch your monitor, it's ok. Just open WinRar and browse to the folder that your downloaded files are in. You will then single click (just to highlight) the first file in your list and choose "extract to" from the buttons on top. It will then open a dialog box so you can choose your destination. Click "ok" and it will extract. Again, extraction time varies. So basically extract with Winrar. If you have any problems with this then just google it and look for other sites.
