Installing XP and uninstalling Vista always helps. May not clear up the lag.

Yes your bluetooth and web cam will work with XP.  You just have to make sure that when you switch OS you make sure to get all the correct drivers for your hardware.  You should notice a large increase in speed with the laptop if you have the base 1gb ram.  Vista is a memory hog and 1gb really isn't enough.

That's the whole joke you clearly didn't get ;)

All the memory in the world wont help when Vista depends on the Hard Drive. So turn of indexing and auto-defrag and get a faster hard drive, laptops often come with slower hard drives.

Before you install a new OS, make sure you have all the drivers for your toys and that they will work on your new OS.

I would recommend getting a reduced version of windows where you do not have 50 processes working in the background and you don't know what half of them are for.

Hm, I would agree with upgrading from Vista to XP (hehe),  but not to SP3.  I'd say stick with SP2, because SP3 basically has more bugs and doesn't add very much to the OS.

Alternatively, you could try Fedora or Ubuntu.
