I’m going to do a video advertisement for VU

On 7-8th of January

I will spend a 1 off payment of £50-£100 on advertising

then,

£5-£7 a week for a year

£5-£7 should get 2 people interested a day & the odd “burst”

Specifically aim for Austin if and avoid Houston if possible.

With such a low number of views per day it is much better to highly tailor an ad to one group of people in one place.

I would recommend Amsterdam, aged 30 years old.

Why? Surprisingly, a significant part of our playerbase (at least 10% from what I gather) is from the Netherlands.

This makes sense. As the Netherlands is a highly developed economy, with excellent digital intelligence, and speaks English at an extremely high/fluent rate.

30 years old because I would gather that most VU players today are between the ages of 28 - 32. This makes sense as this style of gameplay was at its height ~10-12 years ago.

Texas/Austin is an off choice, as the culture in Texas is generally non-progressive. Yes, Austin is considered a liberal city, but I assure you that Texas' values still infiltrate heavily. I would avoid the Midwest entirely.

In the US, the best choice would be the East Coast - from the mid-Atlantic through to the Northeast. Specifically? I would target Alexandria, VA.

You're not looking simply for "middle class gamers", but rather a very specific sub-set. The type of people who would have had ready and easy access to the internet in the late 2000s and early 2010s as teens. You also need to make sure that the population is tech savvy and progressive (so that their parents would have adopted the internet earlier).

I think you won't get nearly anyone coming from Facebook no matter where you target it. Your best bet is advertising in Discord communities of games with a similar genre. Maybe the Civ game discord? Dominions is similar to this game. You could try another browser game that's similar. The Sterlaris Discord or something. Those types of players are interested in this genre of game, which is a niche genre. I think it would probably have more weight if you did it a way that was more personal though rather than it looking like a forced advertisement. Another reason I dislike facebook is there are ads for all these pay to win games that are only there to take your money even though they say "free to play"... which a lot of people on facebook will think this game is. Try the communities you're apart of that aren't this game and give a sincere suggestion for others to try it.

That's incredibly low reach. Your CPC is like £0.5, which is also insanely high. There must be ways to improve this ad or audience. I'd actually start with a broad audience and see the stats after few weeks and tailor it then. But maybe the ad itself is quite not catchy.

We had unproportionately (to a population) high Lithuanian numbers in VU.

I will start broad & make a few specialised adverts

Can’t really afford more than £1 a day for first year but off time I will make maybe 3 £1 a day specific adverts

I’m releasing philosophy video’s & will bulk on them

But

After I release my Rap battles the page will have grown & so will my income

I will be able to spend hundreds on advertising us eventually

But for first year & £1 a day & 1 person trying the game a day I think is a great start & we will hopefully notice more players in vu after maybe 6 months
