This will be a thread for all us old folk to post funny stories or links to old threads :D I will start off with what i shall call the peasant revolt! This was the time when i was a Mod of VU and some lil Penguin fella spoke to me on IRC and told me about his multi account, so i posted it in the mod forums and requested a full mutli sweep. Zeta deleted penguin and Lew loled at them so ofc they got super mad. Hilarity ensues | ||||

All members in a kd sell stone to a member for say .6, who then either stg's it or resells it back to his kd at a higher price, say .8 Force the market price down on an item, for someone to buy it all up and resell at a higher price, or native it. Usually done with trees. | ||||

| 20:28:26 Oct 8th 18 - McMax (Mr. Lucky Luke): Kicking your own people can be a tricky one. Often you are shamed-out in public for doing such things. Some doesn't care - some do. I belong to those who do care - BUT. I also look for the best of my kingdom, so if/when we have a inactive player and we are under attack for real (just as last era with RoC on Mantrax) - I kick the inactive player and allow my mates to take his/her city/cities. What-ever others say to that - I don't care (anymore). It's better to keep the ressources within own kingdom than giving it away (same as feeding) to an attacker. Personally I don't participate in the taking over - but the main-reason is, that I know when a player will be kicked. And I do not want to use that insider-knowledge myself. | ||||
| 14:56:44 Oct 9th 18 - TheBornLoser (Sir Irregular Bowel Movement): I remember that era, DLO. That was when each account could only play one map, instead of multiple maps. Penguin's main account was in Mantrax (where you were in too), while he had a second account in Fantasia. He was being very open that he was playing two maps. Of course, all of a sudden, his cities and armies disappeared, LOL! Oh, I remember that was my second era ever, and my first time playing with two of my six best players of all time, Greg and Trogdar Liech. They blew through the whole Mantrax from South to North, and I think they both essentially "soloed" the newly formed kingdom of Retribution, in which you were in at that time :D Was an eye-opener for me, watching two players practically take down 15 players on their own (Trogdar was 100% merge stacks on his own). That was my precursor to Fantasia level play, which we (then known as Elements) went to next era. Good memories, but damn, so much time spent on VU, LOL! | ||||

You had to send resources form city to city based on needs and there was a travel time for those resources based on distance. I remember the Zeta Zealots and the formation of RoC from the ashes of the Shinobi Empire | ||||

Anyways, I regret not chronicling the past fifteen years or so..my earliest memory was getting my ass handed to me by virgin and auspice who then felt sorry for me so showed me the ropes...I think we can all agree a lot of crazy shit went down. Some off the top of my head: The agent smith incident where they used market feeding (at the time the market was crossworld) and control time spell to sweep Fant with tens of thousands of nazzies. The awesome wall sitting war between carnage and Zeon where we sat large merged armies on the blockers and had to use scouts to stop one another from wall hopping When Q and others split off of Legacy and created DB When Chade decided to swear off his wife and declare his undying love for all things VU | ||||

Soloing kds is pretty fun i must admit, so is holding off entire maps with 2-3 guys, its hard to do but gives me fond memories too :D | ||||

| 01:10:30 Sep 7th 19 - Sir Face Mcfaceface: I remember when Zeta introduced some measures to increase the pace of the game, so when arma was cast all armies moved at top speed and preptimes where removed. We had section off a huge part of the map and had a stalemate for a long time but then I woke up to find arma had been cast and Carnage had a huge merged army that had simply walked right into our core, split up and taken everything. *sadface* | ||||
