Once upon a time, irc was the living thriving heartbeat of VU! Zeta stopped by almost daily, and everyone who was anyone idled in #vu. Swifty ruling the channel with an iron fist, banning people left and right.

If you were going to make an important hit in game, first you had to check in #VU, whois the opponent to see if he was recently online. Because if he was anyone, thats right, he was in #VU!

Zeta supported irc by including a java client of mirc on the front page.

Nowadays, irc is a shrine of past glory, with only 4-5 people stopping by in the evenings. Sometimes there are no words spoken for days, other than Cobras romanian internet kicking him out 20 times a day.

So, as your daily charity.. stop by irc and giggle at those poor irc holdouts.. the survivors of a lost era!

Lol not really all the vets use IRC then skype came along and all the little nooblets went to skype meaning there was only a bunch in IRC. The Vets that go on skype it is more to coordinate kd extra because no one is on IRC
