There are several ways a ruler is made. Sometimes, they are thrust into their position, people wishing and hoping for them to rule. They take it in stride, as they are the natural leaders of this world. Sometimes, they claw their way to the top, fighting with blood and steel, with pen and paper, with every ounce of their being. One by one their enemies fall, and they grow ever stronger.

The man known as 'Crawfish' never wanted to be a leader. He never wanted to help people along. He simply did it because it was the right thing to do.

His life began at the very beginning of Armageddon's '0' age. The first of many ages to come, it was a harrowing world full of strange peoples, places, and things. He was born to a stonemason and his wife at the beginning of this era. His original name has been forgotten, only his nickname now remains.

In the fields of Tannor, between Lake Melian and the Wandering Sea, a small village known as Endell was founded. It was tiny, of little notice, in fact. It hosted a gold mine, a quarry, and mile upon mile of farms. The center of the town could barely be called a street, with a tattered old house serving as the town hall, and several traders putting up shop on the moderately traveled road.

Crawfish was born to a stonemason and his wife, whose names now lie forgotten in the fields, like so many others from that decadent village. He learned the craft his father taught him, and he lived a small peasant's life. If all had remained calm, then he would have grown up, married a peasant girl, become a stonemason, and have a child of his own, and the process would repeat with his son. But no... not since that day...
