Last era it was tree, this time it's food. Last era food was cheapest thing, like 0.5 gold per food, now on Mantrax I just checked and lowest price is 2.25 gold per food! What in the name of fire and ice is going on? | ||||
I sold food for something way cheaper than that (maybe I will again) | ||||
on fant, i encourage EVERYONE to build farms, asap. it will benefit u in the future! | ||||
Food is always expensive at the start of the era... same with stone always being cheap at the start of the era. I guess you haven't played very long Meowman. | ||||
well it can depend. it can be kept high to, i have a feeling that mant will have high food prices for the rest of the era | ||||

Farms aint worth it. If you build farms you will have to invest into farming science which will make all other sciences more expensive. Later on in the era food is ALWAYS cheap and you can easily buy enough food to support your nation for one week or so. | ||||

you dont have to invest in farming science you just need to have a production of even +200 food which maybe 200 farms at start and a max of maybe 10k farms depending on your eventual size | ||||
people like me that wanna fix food market start selling your food if u have surplus for lowers then other people.. people will stop buying for higher prices then therefore it will be fixed lets try to get it at 1-.9 | ||||
Laws of Demand and Supply... Why would most people sell for less when it is still being bought at higher prices? | ||||
if everyone sells for lower people that will eventually buy in the future "me" it will hopefully be fixed in future like it always is | ||||

well the people that want the price to be lower are the ones that have to buy it off the market, so go ahead and buy from me, then sell for half price, do it all you want, in the end i win. | ||||

Why does this destroy you, Soccer? Its simple... Sellers try to sell for the highest price possible to make best profits. Buyers try to buy for the cheapest price possible to get more for their money. Higher prices means more people sell but less people will buy. You just have to get it to the price where buyers=sellers and that is called the equilibrium price. Then again... if you know BASIC Economics, you already know all that... | ||||

i never invest in farming science until after i have all the other scinces that i want and then its more just for the want not the need. i always build farms in at least one of my cities to support all of my cities...and only enough farms to keep me just ahead in food production. the building mainainance for those farms combined with building them in the first place is a cheap cost compared to the money spent turned after turn on food that i personally would rather spend on training troops or buildings things. | ||||
