The name was often used as an equivalent to Levant, Syria or Palestine, and incorporated areas that are today part of Israel, Jordan, Syria, Turkey and Lebanon. The Battle of Hattin (also known as "The Horns of Hattin" because of a nearby extinct volcano of the same name) took place on Saturday, July 4, 1187, between the Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem and the forces of the Ayyubid dynasty. The Muslim armies under Saladin captured or killed the vast majority of the Crusader forces, removing their capability to wage war. The reason we have there insignia is because they defended and fought in The Kingdom of Outremer and attempted to keep it alive and the actual flag for the Kingdom of Outremer is being used by Kingdom of heaven(as it is the same flag as jerusalem)
