I DO find MAD quite fascinating. My profession is Linguist, although I am currently English Teaching. According to many, most members of MAD originate out of the Phillipines. We have a lot of Phillipinos in my own country and being a fan of basketball(their national sport) consider many as good friends. I am also aware of the variations between north and south and various other areas such as cebu. I have visited the Phillipines as well.

Phillipinos generally speak,particularly in the north, excellent English. There is a bias towards North American English over British and the odd mistake due to their spanish and tagalog mixed origin.

What is incredible about MAD is they universally make identical errors in their spelling and word order, that you wouldn't even get even from the same school(let alone country) somewhere else. They all match the same condescending tone in their language choice also. This would mean that members of MAD are likely to be of similar or same age, attended the same schooling with similar level of results(no high achievers all got the same marks etc) and parental upbringing was near identical. The odds of such an occurrence, with so many members, is very small indeed. Throwing some university students together, for example, from various areas would give far more variance in language than displayed by this kingdom.

So as a linguist, listening to MAD is an interesting exercise.

pls reply to this.. Give us a copy of your conversation to any MAD councils that tells the returning of your lost cities are allowable.

Because I believe there is no way a Kingdom(especially MAD) will just give back the war spoils to its former enemy after a NAP agreement.

you might know Philippines, but you haven't live here. You haven't been in streets perhaps, nor visit a classroom and watch the students how they learn. And Philippines have about 30 (approx) different dialects. So stop discriminating us. arrogant.

Also, if you are referring about Mr. Darkz, hes not a Filipino, hes a european. And we doesn't care if hes English are not good as long as we understand.

Stop giving us your hard luck stories, yes it may be hard but there are a whole lot of other things that have happened to people here in this game that are a lot worse, perhaps you should contemplate that.

The topic here is that MAD were dishonourable, maybe not Aloysius who has obviously no control over his KD but whoever was incharge of the Talents section, they should be booted from the KD if Aloysius wants to show that MAD do intend to play honourably.

lol thank you for proving my point Hohenheim. People are diverse and yes there are many dialects, I mentioned about north and south and cebu, for example. So it is not arrogant in the least to expect a vast range of English amongst your members. The fact this doesn't occur is what is interesting.

The country I currently reside in(until I move in 2 weeks) is not particularly relevant, but is Uzbekistan.

Being a linguist and finding identical spelling errors etc. I realise that there is alot of hinting in your post. However being a linguist i assume that this is part of your trade. 2. what interest do you have in this conflict.

anyways, we are waring mad atm and so far its a splendid war. the beauty of war is that you dont have to worry about all the dishonor whines that comes up on the boards as the war is on :-)

Continuous tense is fine. It is not stating my profession, rather what I am doing currently. My profession is Linguistics. My trade was Electronic Warfare Linguist in the Navy and I had to be able to tell the difference between a javanese and a sumatran accent, a moscow/volga region/far east accent and also determine if illegals were from Afghanistan,Iran or Iraq(or pretending to be from none of these), so I would say I am reasonably qualified to comment. I have a BA in European Languages(Russian), currently studying a Masters of Applied Linguistics and I am also studying Uzbek and the Turkic language group.
