thats funny. germany beat a 10 man australian team. a sunday league team could do that. then they lost to serbia, who are defencively better, but not recognized attackers going forward... then they scraped a win over ghana... a team who's average player age was 9 years older than the germans. they were VERY unconvincing in that game.
England were held by a very good american team. And no matter what the press say, any team with the likes of Donavan, Cahill and Howard in are going to be tough to beat.
We were poor in the second game, but against Algeria we had total control, and the scoreline does not reflect the game played. And Algeria are no slouches, considering they are the country that gave us the likes of Zidane and benzema.

Germany played well even with 10 players vs. Serbia, they just didn't have the luck of scoring. and yeah England played well vs Algeria, but Rooney should've scored twice or so.. had to be 5 - 0 for England.

We'll see how it goes, its an interesting match!

Typical English excuses, btw cahill plays for that so called crap 10 manOzzy team you bashed germany for anniahilating, think your confusing them with mighty blues everton, infact cahill was the one sent off for them. Guess your on a par with crappy Ozland now then. Even Ireland was able to beat Algeria 3-0. Deserved victory for the germans, no matter how much money it cost me, ugh.

Finally weeding out the under performing teams though, should begin to see some enjoyable football.

Portugal are still my dark horses, just need to take out the spanish to show they are capable of it.

I watched it today as I understand both games today were screwed by the referee. I dont understand the whole organization, why they dont put an official guy with the cameras to watch the game and if there is a mistake he would correct it. This way both England and Mexico lost due to referee mistake.

To be honest it probably would have been closer if the one goal had actually been added. England must have deflated badly after that...I would have been like "Well, if the official isn't going to even make the calls, why try?"

Yeah... That's not hard to put at least laser sensor system that is fast and doesn't lag the game (while asking camera man does). Even a ball with all those technologies could have a micro element that locates ball location.

Referees fallen in my eyes at least 5 times in this championship.

But that goal wouldn't have helped England from defeat, I believe. It's not like it should have been 3:2, it were like 4:2, so...

England was behind 0:2... Then they scored 1:2, and they had that goal... Later they had another shot that hit whats it called, the construction of the goal (lol)... If they had that 2:2 they would still be attacking and I am sure it would end in a different way.

Same goes with Mexico, my friend plays football professionally and he told me the biggest weapon Mexico had was the 0:0, Argentina would be more nervious as time passed, when they got that first goal from offside, they lost the game.

I hate american sports, but what I love about them is their organization, they always have a referee at the cameras and they can change it if there's a mistake by the referee. Fifa should apply that for their games too, because this is basically silly now.

I heard that it "costs too much." Are they having a laugh? The biggest sport in the world and it costs too much? Rugby have it, cricket have it, tennis has it. Yet we can't afford it?

It takes what, 30 seconds to go to a video ref? Hardly anything out of the match.
John Motson thinks that it's like a snowball effect. We may have it for just goals but they managers want it for offsides, diving in the box and what-not. To which Gary Lineker said "make it like Tennis, where you can contest it 3 times."
