The Perfect MMO | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|
Would they be used for getting money? | ||||
yes, If you think about this it may help a bit. Say you want to be king... Who will build your castle? A Carpenter. Who will built his blue prints? An Architect. | ||||
So it's all just jobs? You should be able to change jobs, have multiple skills or something. Otherwise you would need to spend hours or even days getting from brush to castle (not including make times). | ||||
There could always be the guilds of people who are working together. Example - Merchant guild, Architect guild, Carpentry guild. Each of them would have a members who work together on jobs and then send the supplies to the architects, then they work on it before passing it on to the carpenters, who complete the work. I have seen it done before. It does take time, but the work is efficient and they usually offer discouts ;) There are also groups that may combine merchants, architects, and carpenters, calling themselves maybe "The Builders Guild" or something fancy. Their job would be building things of course. Each part of their group would gather the resources needed and make a building. | ||||
It would require a pretty large number of players...your tradesmen may be useless for the first weeks or even months after launch. | ||||
so the skills would be kind of like runescape? (don't flame me here) I mean, every skill has it's use, and it all helps combat in a certain way and there's plenty of skills to level. | ||||
Not really, it looks like he's limiting everyone to one skill each. | ||||
i think it shud be at least 3 skills... | ||||
| ||||
The reason Im trying to limit people to one skill is because I want to make this so you need everyone. If you want someone to work for you to help you get stuff then you can do it that way. I know on runescape you can do everything by your self and that the thing I hate about it. Its not a team game. I like games where you work together | ||||
i think that you should be able to have at least 2 skills. im saying this because it would suck to be so dependant on people that you have to wait on someone to do something | ||||
Well thats something I will have to think about. Ok because you guys want to do a little of everything this is what I will do. There will be skill levels for each skill. So a farmer may be able to cook a little but not as good as a cook. A cook can farm but not as good as a farmer. This means a cook can only cook the best of the food. | ||||
that sounds good cloutier. i cant wait to see the game | ||||
well I hope it will be up withen a year. I will post a beta site for the game. | ||||
I will knit a sweater while I wait... /sarcasm Will there be RPing? :) | ||||
im not sure. I dont think it would be good because this game has it. | ||||
any one have more ideas | ||||
Just let this die please. | ||||
never | ||||

Darkfall has 'PRE beta testing going on' the official beta will be in a month or 2 I guess, we have a release date for the game, so it should be anytime between that point and now. | ||||

Bump | ||||
is your mmo made yet? | ||||
Some what? Its kingdom WarZ | ||||
l im checking it out, i liked some of the ideas so i hope this is good :D | ||||
Can't find it, but good luck with it, that "following the path of a god" idea was pretty sweet, I would definitely try out an MMORPG like that, assuming it was an item shop game, and not pay-to-play. | ||||
Ok, it looks interesting, I thought you had a bigger-budget type of game in mind. But it's very cool that you actually made a game at all :D anyways good luck with it. | ||||
ok.... I tried it, and wdf are you supposed to do after you kill all the monsters on the island? 0_o none of them respawn..... | ||||
http://www.nowhere-else.org/rpg/ | ||||
wow, that is pretty much the same :/ | ||||
Hmmm... my friend is one of the creators of Nowhere else and beyond... wonder if he knows about that... | ||||
anything that is CLOSE to perfect is a mmo with no bots! even a game like runescape have them! | ||||
I can name lots of MMO's with few-no bots. MMO's screw up in lots of other places way before they screw up there. | ||||
yeah but in order to do that they lose lot of player... | ||||
yeah Runescape is much much better now....u barely see any bots these days...to be honest, i havent seen a single bot for like the last 3-4 months.. | ||||
aye, bots got eliminated in runescape, but at the cost of the wilderness. | ||||
How's that? | ||||
but it got PvP worlds :P | ||||
I won't bother explaining that demonslayer... it'd take me 2 pages... | ||||
Duke Playaaaa | ||||
so you talked 2 pages long about the perfect MMO. | ||||
Its called a game engine, that I purchased and coded more things for the game. Changed the look by hiring an artist to make images for me. So not very lame. | ||||
If you are planning to make your own game, I'd suggest you start with very small one and grow it up gradually. I've seen so many software projects fail because of trying to make it perfect and big the first time (or first iteration). Won't happen and you will fail if you think you can... unless you have A LOT of resources and can take risk and know what you are doing. | ||||
