The point of my comment was, i saw a handful from one notorious group up
in the the 'whatever is best' category and a bunch from other groups
below in lesser 'classes'.
I 1) abhor classification in a free gaming setting which singles out individuals for not performing (and let me add those that were placed in the 'E class' were placed there out of spite & dislike for whatever 'personal' reasons). 2) There are/were a bunch of 'experts' that were not mentioned & at this point I'm not even sure people would recognize certain individuals as bada$$ regardless (example - Carina aka mzzery - she was a monster). 3) The HoH list is a snapshot of who is excelling in one area - Who could hold HoH for 5 consecutive eras etc etc...shoot i'd be surprised if any one in the game could do that consistently on the same world (Fant) with all the big bangers going at the same time in their respective groups. There are great players here - who support and are supported by other good players. Who are we to publish a list with a names of failures? why do you do that on skype to get your rocks off?
One of the issues this game has experienced is the advent of the
individual over the group. The group or KD comes first for any true 'A
class' individual. This forum was devised to classify individuals based
on individual performances
Example: Glenfiddich is a lesser 'class' single malt - you leave a bad taste and hangover in the morning. If I wanted to feel like that - i'd drink a bunch of southern comfort and save myself some money to buy asprin, a dime bag & Nicaraguan xanax.

Good lord, superbly stupid list.
Also good to see there are still some class A retards in the game.
Example, those who post DOA / Ipwn players in the "A" list. Fvcking hilarious. Only Ali deserves to be there... every other DOA / Ipwn player bar Zerocool and Crissxcross are 3rd tier players (according to the "standards" of Grace's list).
Some of the lists are downright mind-bogglingly mental - e.g. lists by Kiam and SFD.
Reading stuff like this always does two things to me - i) it slowly dumbs me down further to normal mortal level (which might be a good thing); ii) it always gives me confidence that there are people doomed to be 3 times stupider than me in the world.

I think that if you are Rank A that you can fight in a kingdom or by yourself and still be successful. If you fight by yourself with no assistance and if you can survive from OOP to at least half the era, you are worthy enough to be Rank A but whats disappointing is that less than 10% of VU can even do that as some people depend on bigger kingdoms to give them time to farm up armies or have like so many NAPs to the point where the kingdom is fighting smaller and weaker kingdoms. I have not seen anyone right now worthy of Rank A unless there is something I have missed then maybe I am wrong but thats what I think the ranking should be about.

Have walloped a lot of "very active" players with less activity.
Activity does not beat wisdom and decision making. The right decision making, coupled with the right execution, even with less activity, can always take out a player with high activity, but high stupidity too.
After all, do you think it was by sheer activity alone that Fear / Fate gave the "mighty" DOA-and-their-allied-ball-carriers a thorough bludgeoning over two eras? No, it was through superior decision-making and superior execution. Traits that are very rare in the real world, and even rarer in this game.
P.S. One of the biggest examples of stupid decision making was DOA's actions in feeding a player like Raistlin... the decision to feed him cost DOA guys big time because he is such a crap player.

And here is the simple prove, ask Kool.
Insteat feeding from our inactives last era we (that time kingdom DOA) kept them in kingdom and active Kool with only few troops were able to take over a lot of mines.
Kool got tons of resources which he used to train up a big army he never cold have before (because he was fighting all time with high casualities). Those resources were gathered from our players, because they had no time to log in and play.
Though Fears activity might have not been high, it was still higher then that from DOA and this has let to that fatal outcome.
But ofc it were your gloriuose decissions and far-seen planning, that Kool would conquer DOA with a 5k army.....

Trust me, IF DOA really would have feed those recources to Raistlin, as you are debattin all time, you would have felt it.
Ohhh yeah you would have whined all night and day about it, an hole era long. Pretty sure even today you would still go crying to your psychatrist because of that.
Feeding (on inactive) has gotten a much bigger impact in that game since mergers are gone, but what am I talking to you, have you ever been arround that time, do you even know what I am talking about ?
I doubt, I am just wasting my time I fear.
But well, I think it has never been anything else when I am trying to talk with you anyway, so who cares ^^.

What I mean is from oop to half era and then to era end. If it sounds easy to you then do it. Jump onto Mantrax and do it. I know I am not Rank A or B but just C so my opinion may mean shit to you but whatever.

Nah Crissxcross, I am not whining. On the contrary, I am GLOATING :)
After all, you never addressed my point, that inferior decision making and inferior excution (in short, inferior skills) brought about the utter defeat of DOA, despite having 45 players and having the support of over 60 other Fantasia players. Kool would never have made it that far to feed on your inferior players if we (especially Path) hadn't easily cracked open your core in the first place, and if Dalak and the other Fate players hadn't brick-walled DOA's poorly planned attacks.
In short, the sucky DOA players got rolled by the superior Fate / Fear players, and thus, to stick to the point of this thread, most of the DOA / Ipwn players are merely 3rd tier players :)
BTW, Fear itself had its own bout of inactivity - we had several dwarves with 300K worth of resource land who had gone inactive for several weeks in the era. Imagine if we had let our active attackers feed on them, LOL! We probably would have crushed your pathetic kingdom 1 week earlier.
Ultimately, decision making, strategizing, and execution are the hallmarks of a truly great player ^_^ Not ... er... 'losers' like you :P

Well, I know I could do better myself, but am not willng to sacrafice more of my RL time on a game.
Because activity does not only means to be online and clicking buttoms.
It also means to think about strategy and make plans.
You are always so possesed to get your enemies recognition and to fight them that you are failing to understand what they say.
Your all overwhelming tactic /strategy thingy you are so proud of, is also (only) a part of activity.
A leader who is not online and not giving orders or directions, how would you call him ?
Well stupid question, but you can could also make the unquoted note and say he is inactive.
And the opposite of inactive is ???

It is just simple as most things in life are if you manage to brake off your insularity and try to see things in their hole and not only in your own point of view.

I dont understand cxc, how you try to make it sound like its my fault that your kd was inactive. now i dont particularly want to get dragged into your guys arguements. but heres some facts for you it was only one person that gave me the plunders to get where i did.. (your leader Hanky) NOT the inactives though that came much later.. i sat and trained over 40 tics away giving you guys plenty of time to organise defences.
I didnt just wander thru your core and not fight anyone.there were alot of peeps that put up good fights. btw yes path broke thru tiberius blocker but i broke that first, the only thing that stopped me moving forward, was inactivity of my kd mates. so i was forced to suicide an army as i had no bts to retreat back to blings armoury.
When we broke thru we didnt know half your kd is inactive. and as TBL pointed out we had a tonne of inactives ourselves, and that forced a few of us to stay online longer then we wanted to..
Anyway you guys had some really good players and so did we,
it just seems we took the better options/choices at that partcular time. because in the last few eras we warred, you had a tonne of chances to take us out but didnt.
Alot of the guys i played with have an excellent grasp of the game/ tactics and planning etc. alot of them would be in the A class. Elsin Path Rox to name a few.. even you cxc i consider a very good player, though i do remember when i was in RVL beating a major AM army of yours, was a major contribution in beating your kd :)

All I wanna say, that without activity any skill is useless. And to use your skill succesfully you need activity.
No matter how high your skill is, without activity you won't be succesfull.
It is as if you try to multiplay a big number with 0.
The outcome is and always will be 0.
Ofc you could also argue the other way, only activity and 0 skill = 0 as well.
BUT if those people exist, they won't make it through the tutorial and won't play in our worlds so they are not really important for player grades =p.

the topic of this thread is an uber-fail. where do i even begin?
- more often than not, threads like these turn into popularity contests.
- asking people for their opinions on this subject is purely subjective. some people may think player A is great while others think player A is a complete tool.
- Many of the earlier posters simply c&p someone's initial choices, assuming that that person's choices was absolutely correct (which it wasn't btw)
- everyone will have different criteria about what makes a great player great, and the initial categories miss many of them.
- such listings which uses hoh appearances as a criteria is laughable. there are countless great players imo who never win eras or hardly get on the hoh list.

I would prefer 6 skillful then active. As long as activity is like 4 ticks spaced apart a bit then your fine. Just defend then push for a strong but inactive attack
Although being avtive for first 50-100 ticks is really good but if you get on say 5 hours apart it is still really good

If you play this game for hoh you suck right off the bat. This game is about teamwork and nobody was better at that than the above mentioned.
