Does the cave master actually boost mine production....or does he only work the mines like a filthy peasant and waste my hard earned tax dollars on all that training?
Yes it does | ||||
yes, build enough homes to house 5 peasants and 1 caver for every mine
Yes you should always train Cavers if you play dwarves. 1 Cavemaster Per Mine. Max size // Homes // Mines // Total 400 // 72 // 300 // 372 6400 // 1236 // 5150 // 6386 14400 // 2784 // 11600 // 14384 25600 // 4950 // 20625 // 25575 40000 // 7740 // 32250 // 39990 57600 // 11148 // 46450 // 57598 78400 // 15174 // 63225 // 78399 90000 // 17418 // 72575 // 89993
the ratio is 6:25 homes to mines with one caver per mine and full peasant employment
dont 'always' do anything. adjust your strategy to suit your needs for the era.
Do we know how much they boost income by? Is there a formula?
there will be a formula since it is a computer, but i dont know what it is.
from my experience of being a dwarf last age on zetamania, the cavers doubled the production of my 90k, they are very usefull and act as a defense force
I guess the formula has an S curve because I have 1 for every 3 mines and the boost seem non-existent.
the thing with cavers is its hard (and misleading IMO) to look at ROI by only looking at their mining bonus. after all, its a 6/3 troop with special attack features as well. consider an army with hammers and cavers 1:1, thats an 11/9 unit for 1900 gold - pretty decent cost considering axemen are 2500 g for a 10/8.
I always use cavers in my armies they bring alot of loot! 50% axes 25%hammers and 25% CAVERS!!!
