question about rain of fire
16:10:31 Dec 13th 08 - Mr. Magnificent:

if you cast the spell with a higher rate of succes will you kill more troops?

or is it always the same percentage that you kill ?

16:25:53 Dec 13th 08 - Mr. Punny Monsta:

its just you will have more chances to cast it withouth fail... and the kill process is how many enemy has... he has more you kill more.. dunno really

01:27:20 Dec 14th 08 - Lord Cedric Deallus:

More magic = more raining fire :D

01:48:04 Dec 14th 08 - Duke Random:

With a higher magic power, you will kill more troops.

The magic power also determines the % at which you will succeed on the spell.

I think... never really experimented with RoF....

01:49:25 Dec 14th 08 - Lord Cedric Deallus:

Where is Mr. Barney? :)

21:33:53 Dec 16th 08 - Mr. System of Down:

more magic power is more troops burned to death!

01:28:56 Dec 17th 08 - Mr. Pilosa:

there's a lot of "i think's" in here.

it is always the same percentage, unless the armies are very small, in which case, a lower percentage is killed, or if you're using a really small number of mages on an army with no magic protection, in which case a lower percentage is killed.

01:57:41 Dec 17th 08 - Mr. Samulis The Magnificent:

As I have learned it, with RoF (rain of fire) the percent only has to do with the secess rate. Perhaps it does have to do with the number killed as well.

04:05:23 Dec 17th 08 - Lord Cedric Deallus:

It depends on magic power most likely...the percentage only goes so high...obviously the percentage has to do with success rate.

Stronger magic = Greater number of deaths

Of course that would only work on larger armies...the smaller ones barely get affected

07:24:00 Dec 17th 08 - Mr. Pilosa:

the percentage of success is not related to the kill rate. as i said above, the kill rate is only affected when the armies are small or if the mage power is small. the percentage is solely related to the ratio of your magic power to their magic power.

as an experienced RoF'er (how many have have killed more than 1 million in a single RoF... twice? lol!)... this is the best answer you're going to find anywhere.

23:26:31 Dec 18th 08 - Mr. Mystic:

I'll second what Pilosa is saying.

From my experience, against a decent sized army, the power and % has nothing to do with the death rate.

If cast on small armies you eventually dont kill anything.
If cast on a totally unprotected army with small number of MU's, you kill a small amount.

My experience is Exactly what Pilosa stated

just a little add on also your range plays a role in %  you need enough magic towers
