This is a guide to The Place, a RP game in the Roleplaying section of Visual Utopia. I wrote this to make it easier for other people to start playing. I am doing this entirely on copy and pasted posts.

Far, far, far o'er the lands of green and rivers of blue, there lay a castle. Up on the top-most level there was a chamber. Killer yawned and woke up, and he was grumpy. "No bloody servants doing anything for me, I have to do everything myself," as the servants had left the previous day. He looked out on to his land. "No-body has come yet!" Killer sighed. He would have to stick up signs. He wandered downstairs, and got some food to eat, and then went out and stuck signposts up saying: Servants wanted. 10 gold a day. Killer contiued on, and he saw that the guards were coming. "Ah, good. At last they have come." Now all I need are people working in this bloody patch of land. When ever are they going to come and make this place a city."
Right, what this is: People(you...maybe?..) come inot the city with 10 gold and 100 food. You have to make 1,000,000 gold. You eat 10 food every day(real time), and you die if you don't have enough. You have to make your gold by honest means. Guards send you to prison or kill you if you don't...
Rules: You can do illegal stuff as long as you don't get caught, but not these rules. You HAVE to obey them, otherwise you get kicked out.
1. You can't kill me, Killer. I won't actually play, just make sure no-one is cheating.
2. You can't make stuff appear out of nowhere.
3. Ummm... that's it... I think... Oh, wait, you can't just make people die. You have to explain how you kill someone, and give them the chance to retaliate.
Laws(these are inforced by guards, you don't have to obey them, but you might get killed by the guards, who are armed, or put in prison.)
1. No stealing.
2. No killing.
3. I'll have to think of more...
Right, I'll explain everything tommorrow. You can come in now if you like though... |

Right, you have to make 1 million gold, and you start off with 100 food, and 10 gold. There are various things around the place you notice(if you ever bother coming in, and you must do to read this post, and you will notice, maybe... Then you'll probably leave to never come back :-{ ) , there is signs up to be a servant of Killer, 10 max. You earn 100 gold a day, and 10 food(enough to keep your hunger at bay for each day, but you might find you have a growing appetite...). There is a arena thing, where you can fight for gold against other people. (You can fight against some other guys too, who'll I'll play, weak guy for 10 gold, ok guys for 100 gold, good guys for 1,000 gold, superb guys for 10,000 gold, fantastic guys for 100,000 gold, and an impossible guy to beat for 1,000,000 gold(not quite, but you better be VERY VERY VERY well prepared.) All these guys have magic as well, in increasing order they get better. The first guys are useless, second are bad, third ok, and so on, so forth. When playing against real players you have to bet the same amount of moeny, and the loser dies, which means they can't come back. Other stuff to do: There is a blacksmith to make weapons for you, incredibly powerful mage to sell magic scrolls to you (you can't do magic unless you buy these scrolls), a carpenter to make tools for, a furnace dude to make metal from ore for you, all as long as you pay the right price. For the blacksmith you need metal and gold to get weapons and armour, for the carpenter wood, gold and sometimes metal depeding on what you want, for the mage to get scrolls you need gold, for the furnace dude ore and gold to get metal. Now, you'll be happy to know that you can kill these guys, but make sure no guards are watching, and these guys are good.(recommend not to try to kill mage...) To get ore, there is a mine, you go into it with something to mine and get your ore, but there is a chance of you dieing. To get wood, there is a forest, and you have an axe to cut trees down, but you can... ummm... die from bugs... There is also a medicine guy to give you medicines(and posions, but these are illegal, so be careful.) to heal yourself, and a farm to get food, but there is a farmer to watch this, and he is tough to kill, and he hired a guard...
I'll post prices up when the first few people (if they) come in.
Rules:
- Don't kill me, Killer.
- You have to give people(me in the case of guys already there...) a chance to retaliate if you try to hurt them, or kill them.
- Don't cheat by getting something out of nowhere.
Laws(inforced by guards, you just get put in prison if you break these, and lose half your moeny, and all items, usually...)
- Don't kill(apart from in the arena thing).
- Don't steal.
- No weapons(they don't check thoroughly for these *hint* *hint*), you put them in the arena for use in the arena when you need them. You can have armour and shields though.
- No defacing property.
- umm... that's all for now.
Good luck... |

*Sighs* If you become a servant to me, no you can't advance further. If you become the mage's apprentice, you could kill him slyly(just don't let the guards see, and you'd probably die) and takes over the scroll shop. And no, you can't advance further :P You can do this in all the shops things, but be careful... Ok, since you want to progress... *Killer looks across the land. He sees a travelling school(Not one of those horrid things that I'm sure at some stage in the past you've gone to, but a good school, that teaches magic, fighting, and making stuff...), coming into the place. He goes down and greets them. It turns out that they are staying there, as long as they pay 100 gold to Killer a day. Killer willingly accepts.* School:
- Costs 10 gold per day.
- You can learn to make weapons & armous/ learn to make tools / learn magic / learn to fight better(You have better reflexes and you're stronger.). Only one of them a day.
- You have to spend quite a bit of time to learn stuff.
- Since Septim(and there is currently only two people in this place...) wants progress, you can teach at the school, starting off as a sub-professer, for 10 food and 10 gold a day, advancing on to be a professer, for 10 food and 100 gold a day, then a (ummm...) master of magic / fighting / tool-making / weapon and armour making(only one...) for 20 food and 300 gold and finally THE head-professer (If current one retires or dies... and the same for masters as well...), for 50 food and 1,000 gold.
- You spend most of your day there, and then you have to have enough gold to pay for it...
Sorry... can't think of anything more progressive for the time being(I'm too lazy), so I might have some at some stage... |

Ah hell... forgot to put places to stay too... A gold coin for a week is a *beep*eap though... The Bottler's Bottle - cheap inn, but very dirty, you have a small chance of getting diseases every night, costs one gold per week. (Hope you're not staying here Septim...) The Drunken Sailor - another cheap inn, but slightly cleaner then the other, but you can still get diseases, 2 gold a week. The Tailor's Taverne - A pretty expensive inn, but is very clean, 1 gold a night.
I'll add more when they're built... There is also a medicine man if you happen to fall sick. He might be able to cure you. |

Yeah there are plenty of jobs... *sigh* New: There is a clothes store. Buy materials and make clothes and sell clothes, and you can do any clothes you like. YOU, the players, have to make up the clothes, as I'm to bored to do it. There is also a scroll shop, sells magic scolls; blacksmith; carpenter; farm; school, look back at the earlier posts if you want to learn or work here, I really couldn't be bothered copying it; healer; (ermmm...) that's it... I think... |
Travelling and Horses
Prince Lucias Septim II
11/18/2007 5:22:08 PM |
[[OOC:
I would like to suggest the addition of horses and cities!
Cities:
One city could have a massive market for traders, another could have a better school for specialized classes, such as a magic university, a fighters university, a forgers university, and a crafters (Tool making, clothes making, and anything that isn't armor or weapons). And another could have a massive arena for the best gladiators in the world, only the champions of the small arenas are allowed. And a lot of other things.
Horses:
Horses could make you travel faster to another city. There are regular horses, then black, then white, then special. Special horses can take more damage, travel extremely fast, and maybe talk (I don't know...).
Traveling:
Traveling can take up to two days, or two hours, or even ten minutes. It all depends on the horse.
Please tell me if this is a good or bad idea, I might even make a guide to this game in a couple of days based on Killer's posts in order to decrease the difficulty of finding the facts of the game!]] |

Ah good... thanks Septim. I did say I was going to build a stable after this war thing... Ummm... cities... huh... Sure. Verll, yeah you can teach, sure... *Relic finds a note in Killer's mansion. It sets out the instructions for building some different cities in parts of the place, and a plan for a stables. (Sorry Septim, I have to put it into the story somehow...) Relic decides to start building these things for when Killer gets back. (About a week to build all that various stuff...) *
*Septim looks up as the head-professor comes in. "I've returned early from the war, and I come with bad news... The master of mélee fighting has died. Now there is only 4 fighting teachers, and I want to see which one is the best to promote. So, if you will come with me, and I want to see you teach a class of students. Just do as you normally do." *
*Far away, Killer sees a large army of 1,000 men fighting of Whyfickle's(he sees their banner) men against some peasants poorly armed against them, about 6,000. He gets his men to charge at the town. They charge down beside the army, and start shooting arrows and magic at Whyfickle's men. In the confusion, Whyfickle's men start attacking each other while trying to retreat everyway(they're not very organised...). They are quickly finished off at retreating, by the peasants and Killer's small platoon, but at the loss of around 1,100 peasant lives, and 21 of Killer's men,(one being the master of fighting...) Killer walks up to one of the peasants, and asks what heppened. "The men sneaked up at us during the night, but we had some meagre defences up, and that stopped them until recently, shortly before you came charging down to help us. We are most grateful for yor help, and if you're attacking Whyfickle, we wish to help you." replies the peasant. "Ok, I accept your help gratefully. If you don't mind, I wish to put some of my men at the head of you peasants." "No!" the crowd roars, with a few hints of displeasure. Killer walks over to the head-professor of the school, and tells him to return to the school he would be needed. Killer then picks three men to lead 1,000 peasants each, with a few handful of the men that came with him. These men are Erunion Telcontar, Swynchital (a peasant, who he saw killing people with magic marvellously) and Rastanak(a guard). He all saw them fighting well, as well as either being good archers or magicians. He asks the peasants where the city of Whyfickle's is, and they reply east. They walk towards the city slowly, getting 2 people on each horse with many walking. The children are left behind with a few older people to look after them. They arrive at dawn, and Killer asks Erunion to take his guys to attack the city from the west, Swynchital from the south and Rastanak from the east. He would attack the main gate from the north, with 1,000 peasants and whatever. He asks the peasants how many troops are in the city, around. They say a great number, at least 50,000. "Ok, let us go to war," he cries, and he asks the people to hide in nearby vegetation for the time being. |
Positions

Report
11/20/2007 10:07:56 AM |
Eh-emmm... There is new positions(thanks to Septim) available. These are: Planner = makes additions to the city, and occasionally makes maps; Treasurer = keeps count of everyone's gold, food and items; and he also suggested steward... to take over while I'm on vacation or something... however, this is unlikely...Not for this era anyway, but the position is up for grabs. Septim will be the Planner, as he asked for it, and will be payed according to his additions.(I'm not going to do a fixed amount as you might just do nothing... Post if you want the job of treasurer or steward. For treasurer, you can post everyone's gold and food every 3 days(post more if you want, you won't get payed for them...) and you will get 500 gold each time. This is a tough job after all, but it might become more organized and easier... Steward: Payed 1,000 gold a day while I'm gone when notified. Don't do anything stupid with these positions(Like cheating...), or I shall take the position off you and maybe even worse... I have the power to take away any new additions, and I'll check(maybe) if the treasurer is taking down the gold, items and food correctly, and ehh... he steward better not do anything stupid... I'm not even sure what he does... |

Sorry Erunion, you are too late...
Hmmm... brilliant Septim. However, about the weapons and magic, they will be used, it is a test of variety, and that includes carpentary, magic, mélée fighting, ranged fighting, and ehhh.... smelting? Well... I suppose so... that's it I think. However, you will not be fighting directly with each other.
*The masters line up. The judges of who will be headmaster line up. They sit down at a table, with paper to note down information on. There are five of them. The first, a rather short fat man, adresses the masters, "You will be challenged in all areas of what this school teaches. The master in whatever he is experienced, will recieve a harder challenge then the others. To start, it will be ranged weaponary. You may take a weapon of your choice." He gestures to a desk lined with various ranged weapons. Crossbows, bows, darts, slingshots, and other various weapons. Ranged master, Gulis crosses across and selects a long yew bow. It's about 6 foot 11 tall, slightly smaller than him. He's taller than the rest of the masters, at 7 foot 4, around. Zarisus walks across next, and takes a slingshot, carefully woven, with a long line and silky pouch. Septim crosses and ponders before he selects his weapon.(Just tell me what weapon you want to pick, and I'll say if it's there, which it probably will be...*
