The Life of the Shadows
04:06:54 Sep 18th 08 - Mr. Arvious VII:

For some people, the meaning life for them is love, joy, and money.  Worldly possesions.  Do they truely matter?  Objects are nothing but space, love can easily be severed, and joy can quickly turn to despair.  No, for some people, the meaning of life is that they wake up.

Prologue

A man was riding a horse,  the moon shining upon the road.  The only light, the candle for theives, killers, and death.  The man riding the horse was constantly urging the horse to go faster.  They travel through the night, the only life awake in this area.  Soon, you could see a castle rising up out of the shadows and into the moonlight.  The man riding the horse continued to go forth.

When the man comes up to the gate, he dismounts the horse, and walks up to the gate.  The man raises his hand and knocks on the door.  The castle guards looked down and looked at the man.

"Who are you to be travelling at night?"  one of the guards said.
"I am the messenger,"  the man said.  "Let me in."
Shock was on the guards faces.  "Open the gate!"

The gate began to creak as the metal gate rubbed against the stone walls, and the man went past the gate.  The messenger went to the keep of the castle, and opened the wooden doors.  Inside, several men were dancing, singing, and having a few too many swigs of wine.  The messenger recognized one of the men, and walks up to him."

"So, you are Arvious?"  the messenger asked.
"Heh, why do you need to ask Gervil?"  Arvious answered, perhaps a little drunkly.
"I have a message from Lord Lathos,"  Gervil said.  "You're needed."
Arvious pondered on this.  "For what?"
"I thought you would have known all ready,"  Gervil said.  "After all, you are the Noble of the Lord here, who should have told you."
"Well, tell me!"  Arvious yelled.
"We,"  Gervil said  "are at war."
