Upgrading costs 2250 gold, 200 stone, 200 tree and 200 food.

Not sure if it's a bug or a new update but I always thought your first science no matter what it is would always be free.  I have not gotten any other sciences yet and I'm curious why I am already having to pay to get level one magic........ anyone want to explain it to me?

im a bit confused so how exactly does this deal with inactives compared to actives? does that mean my sciences will cost more?

Struddle, it doesn't matter, but sciences are lowered by inactives and active players. Zeta (might have) got rid of the inactive players decreasing the sciences of others, and so yes, your science will/would be more expensive. He didn't mention doing it though, only that he would when Barney was explaining them.
