Generic Adventure
23:52:48 Apr 2nd 10 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

The soldiers laughed at Frankenstein's display, and just ignored his pleas. They seemed to find the group a great source of amusement. After a while, one of them had mercy and let down the rope ladder.

A while later, and they all had mugs of cold water in a border tent, talking to a man speaking their language in a fractured manner. "I is, you say, wonder, why you cross sand?" he asked. Steven explained about the treasures several times, and even showed them. The man was interested. "Why, you must cross our land? We negative." This confused Steven, but upon presenting the treasure map, the man laughed and pointed to the third and final treasure. "Is our royal palace!" he guffawed, before pointing firmly back to the desert. "You can't take from palace. So go back original, ok?" Steven didn't know how to respond.

Hugh heard the men telling them to go back and decided that he gone through enough.
"Go back? We have crossed the desert, fought all sorts of monsters that would make you scream like a girl, and are exhausted.  If we cannot get treasure from your royal palace, at least let us rest and then go another way," argued Hugh.  He did not care what the response was to his argument, but he sure did not want to go back through the damned desert again.

The man laughed and turned them out of his tent, admitting them passage to a nearby border village but no further. At the inn there, Steven immediately made plans, not fearing eavesdroppers due to the language barrier. "We need to get to their palace place. I say we stay here, and leave at night. We should be there in two days, judging by the map." Steven didn't remind them of the fact that he had no idea where they were on the desert border however, as it could probably embarass him. "So. Everyone have a good night, and be ready."

That night, Steven was awoken by a jarring metal crash and muffled cursing, coming from a corner of his room. The dark wooden structure was illuminated only by moonlight, and the corner was black, but the metal bucket rolling away from it was illuminated. Suddenly, Steven caught the flash of a knife in the dark...

[[Thieves. Although they mean business, they'll probably run away if you give them a good scare.]]
