| 21:58:09 May 17th 08 - Prince Bertilius Septim: [[OOC: I will start the war now...]] Septim awakes with a start, a man outside is yelling, his voice is uncle*beep*ptim opens his front door and looks out to see a man on horseback riding down the street yelling, "The Valkondians! They're attacking!". Septim runs into his house, locks his door, and hides under his bed. Another voice is heard outside, this one clearer, "All Tysolonians with military training report to the barracks, bring your swords!" Septim curses, gets out from under his bed, and picks up his shortsword, he buckles it and walks outside, he keeps his hand on his hilt at all times as he walks down the street, this would be his first time in real combat, he had never been this nervous, in the heat of combat, one mistake could mean your life. Septim reaches the barracks where they are passing out iron chestplates, barbutes, and round shields. Septim takes his gear and puts it on. A junior lieutenant by the name of Ant approaches the group of twenty five wearing an iron cuiress, barbute, and holding the hilt of his shortsword and his iron round shield. There are around five hundred men from the capital, but they are divided into groups of twenty five and given to Junior Lieutenants. "I am your commanding officer", he says clearly in a voice of command, "You will follow me into battle. Our orders are to defend the city at all costs, understand?" "Sir yes sir!", says the group of twenty five, which includes Septim, Ernie, Erunion Telcontar, and Killer. Ant leads them out to the walls, where they are ordered to sheath their swords and stow their shields so that they may handle the shortbow, Ernie already has a bow, so he uses his. As the Valkondians storm across the battlefield, chaos ensues as the men shoot wildly, only Ernie and a man named Gosfield hit anything. They reach the gate and use their battering ram to knock it through. The men shoot down below as the Valkondians climb the ladders, when they reach the top, the Tysonians begin knocking the enemies down. The enemy numbers seem endless, until, on the horizon, a horn is heard. "The Seronians! They've come!", yells a soldier. Septim, who has killed five enemies and now had blood on both his sword and his shield from smashing somebody in the face with it, is relieved. Septim blocks a blow from an enemy on his now dented kiteshield, he returns to combat. *** The Seronian Grand Army arrives and fights the Valkondians, the Tysonians flee, leaving only Ant's group out in the city fighting. The group is split, and Septim joins a group of Seronians in fighting the Valkondians. After two days of on and off fighting, a wall is erected in the center of the city, one side is called Valkondian Tysos, the other Seronian Tysos. The Tysonian King and his remaining soldiers come out of the palace into the Seronian side to be told that their empire had been split into two, and that he was no longer a King. [[OOC: Pick which side of the city you were on when the wall was made. You can either pick Seron or Valkond, Valkond is the more evil one, Seron is the good one. Everybody can keep their iron cuiress, kite shield, and barbute helmet by the way...due to the Empire's collapse, nobody's coming to collect them.]] Septim, no longer needed by the Seronian Empire as they had plenty of troops, returned to his shack, which was on the Seronian side. Septim cleans his sword, shield, cuiress, and helmet before puting them in a small cupboard, he keeps his sword with him at all times though. Septim then goes to sleep on his bed, having gotten little sleep in the past three days. [[OOC: What side you pick has little effect on your job, people still need the services of engineers, scholars, and whatever else there are out there. For Ant, depending on what side you choose, you can either become a Lieutenant for the Seronian or Valkondian side.]]

| 22:09:32 May 17th 08 - Mr. Ant: Ant pleased with how he and his small group of men fought, walked over to met the Seronian comander, where he was praised for his comand and how well he fought himself. He urged his band of men to follow him. After collecting the dead and taking their valuables(suggest how much gold is fair, Septim 500g?) he built a fire and rested there as his shack was far away. He kept his sword by he while he dozed.(as my tactics skill increased) Next morning he and his band of men(not players)were given meat to eat, which they ate greedily. | ||||

After work Septim goes to the book store where he buys Reading for Journeymen for 1200 out of his 1500 gold coins. He then travels to the bakery and buys a chunk of bread, as red meat isn't required to maintain a build, only get it. He eats the bread before going home and doing his workout routine, which is required to maintain the build, he then reads Reading for Journeymen before going to sleep. [[OOC: You don't have one thousand gold, and you can't read books because you can't read, so I don't think you can learn much unless you want to learn smithing or thieving...]] | ||||

Ant took his sword, shield and armor, as it was better than his own(gained 100g)but he was cut by an opponant(need to rest tommorow) he ate more meat, and got physically stronger. 535g build: athlete skills: tactics, reading | ||||

Tactics - 1000 gold Math - 1000 gold Oration - 400 gold Smithing - 500 gold Thieving - 100 gold Courses are expensive...gotta make them that way or people becoming scholars will buy them all with their first paycheck, a course takes a day to complete and by the end of the day you will be a journeyman in that area. The ranks are: Each rank costs triple the previous, so if you learn Journeyman fighting with your two days in the army, you will pay three hundred gold for veteran, nine hundred for Expert, and 2700 for Master. You cannot work while you learn if you learn through an academy. You can read these instead of going to class, but it takes a week to read a book. There aren't many copyists in the Empire, so book prices are rather high. You must, naturally, be able to read to read books. Mathematics for Novices - 550 gold - Teaches Journeyman Mathematics. Mathematics for Journeymen - 1100 gold - Teaches Veteran mathematics Basic Tactics - 600 gold - Teaches Journeyman tactics. Forging for Novices - 250 gold - Teaches Journeyman smithing. Reading for Journeymen - 1200 gold - Teaches Veteran reading. The Techniques of Avason - 1000 gold - Teaches Journeyman Oration. The advantages of books are that you can work while you read them (you read them before bed) and they're cheaper than classes.
