Artiul was glad that he recieved training in the art of war because the month after that Kerait attacked. It was a small war, but it still took many lives. One battle turned the tide for Erenia, and it was the battle of Roger's Hill. The Keraitian attackers situated themselves on the hill and it seemed that there was no way to attack them without large losses, but one soldier Lieutenant had an idea. He took his group of sixty men around the hill by the back pathways and charged. It was a foolish charge, and if the Erenians didn't figure out what was happening he would have died, but they did figure it out, and charged as well. The Keraitians where so disorginized and confused that they routed after a brief battle.

The next day King Golovo IV knighted Artiul, and gave him 2,000 gold. That day Artiul ate bread, and swam for the last time.

Demonsul does his administration work. While he is at it, he gets a shout from his newly-appointed secretary (hey, he just made the place more wealthy, he's not going to just meet everyone) that a small group of people are here to see him. Demonsul asks who they are, and the secretary doesn't know. Demonsul sits back down, shaking his head, then shouts back that they might as well come in.
The group who enter Demonsul's office look noble, but he does not recognize them. Evidently, however, they recognize him. One of them exclaims "It is you!" and that intrigued Demonsul. Asking who they were, they replied that they were the people Demonsul paid to help him raid the treasury at Karthon two years ago. Recollection flooded back to Demonsul, and he stood to greet them all properly, while they found seating. Most of them had come out very well from the raid, and happily recollected the times since then, but when the Old Beliefs had arrived and they heard who had introduced them, they had bended together to come and see what Demonsl had done with his fortune. And to think, they found tha he had become a duke!
Demonsul listened as they recounted their adventures, and then explained how he had managed to secure his position. At the mention of taking the deeds to the duchy from the drunken duke, they all burst out laughing. Demonsul elaborated quite a lot, and as a result, the entire group stayed for a while, and before the end of the month, most of them had bought (or acquired) residences in Bazun or Artteon. Demonsul liked their company, it was a release from the pressures of being a duke, and the pressures of a (mostly) honest job.

Delran administrated his duchy for 3 days. On the second day he realized that the prosperity of his duchy has increased from average to rich, giving him another 2000 gold per day. He also read every night from his book. At the end of the third day, Delran enlisted 8.000 soldiers as his personal troops, naming them Dragons Operational Forces - in short The Dragons. They were given horses and weapons and took their job as personal guards of Duke Delran, law enforcers in the Duchy of Kharos and soldiers. Delan was proud of them, as they were the best cavalry trained unit in the entire world. Due to their training and weapons, they would fight against enemies that outnumber them 10:1 and would still win. Also Delran took care of the support part of his men, giving them the best healers money can buy. The healers were also enlisted as soldiers. This was done to reduce casualties during wars. Should the emperor need Delran and his men, thay would be prepared to turn the tide of any war. Also, Delran asked Duke Septim to train their men togeder in order to build a friendship between them so that their units would fight better is they were side by side.

Delran also sold his two average horses and bought a champion horse. A black one. He also ordered a set of armor for his horse from Cidel.

For that much training, you'd have to actually use almost all of the gold you earn every day. oO. Also, we have not discovered anything beyond our continent yet, so it isn't fair to say that as you don't know whether some Dark Elven Riders of Doom are on another island ready to kick the crap out of your riders. For the next four months, Septim watches as his Duchy grows. He received horses from Delran, and began training his riders. The riders would wear platemail armor, and carry a lance. If they broke the lance on their enemy, they were to draw their longsword and continue fighting. Within four months, Cidel had some fine knights, but he would never be so ignorant as to say they were the best. Then, for two months, he went off to the tower of Archmage Magnus to learn the secrets of magic for ten thousand gold coins. Upon returning, he was a journeyman of magic. He was able to teleport to anywhere within a half a mile that he could visually see. He also had a small command of certain elements such as water, fire, air, and earth.

Septim took a day to administrate his Duchy, afterwards, his throne room was filled with a blue light, and a man wearing white robes appeared.
"Hail! I am Mage Vadav of the Venifician Order," said the man in the white robes, "You have learned to use magic, so I offer you an invitation to join our ranks as an Initiate."
"I have heard of you, what would I get if I joined?" asked Septim.
"Twenty-five percent off of magic instruction, help if you should ever need it, and the deepest secrets of magic. In return we ask only for your friendship," said Vadav.
Septim began thinking, and one minute later, he spoke.
"I will join," said Septim.
"Excellent," said Vadav before teleporting forward, "Take my hand."
Septim grabbed Vadav's hand, and the two teleported a very long distance. Septim felt like he was in a tunnel built for a mouse, it was quite uncomfortable. When they reached their destination, Septim fell to the floor.
"You get used to the feeling after a while," said Vadav, "This is the Venifician Tower."
Septim looked up and saw a tower fit for the Gods. It was massive, over forty stories tall, and it was built of a strange stone. The front doors had several strange ruins on them. Septim got up and followed Vadav. After reaching the door, Vadav performed a hand movement and spoke in a strange language. The door was opened by a man on the other side and Septim walked in. He was in awe. The entrance room was grand, the walls and floors were made of white marble with a large white marble fountain in the entrance room. Septim followed Vadav through several floors before reaching the Grand Archmage's quarters.
"Sir, this is our newest initiate, Validus Septim," said Vadav to a man hidden by a white curtain.
"Grand to meet you," the man said.
"Is he approved," said Vadav.
"I don't know, let me read him," said the man as he walked out from behind the curtain. He was old, and he an exact representation of how most men thought wizards looked like; his beard was long and white, his face was wrinkled, and his eyes had an aura of wisdom and power like none Septim had ever seen. The man approached Septim and looked into his eyes.
"You're...you're a tough one to read..." said the Grand Archmage, "There has been a lot of fighting in your life...a lot of tragedy as well. There is also much potential. And I also sense that you are loyal, welcome to the Order."
"Thank you, sir," said Septim.
Vadav gave Septim a pair of white robes, and before leaving, Septim turned to the Grand Archmage.
"I did not catch your name," said Septim.
"Grand Archmage Primoris Victo," said the Grand Archmage with a smile.
"Thank you," said Septim before leaving.
Vadav returned Septim to Cidel, as they stood in the throne room. Vadav handed Septim a stone.
"This will allow you to contact us, should you ever need help or teleportation to the tower," said Vadav before teleporting away.
Septim sat down and sighed.
"That was interesting..."

Demonsul administers his duchy, thinking of ways to increase his revenue. One of the ex-criminal contacts he has living in town, a short, balding man with a selection of throwing axes around his belt, suggested war. War had always helped the economy in the past. But declaring war as a duchy was civil war. That had gone awry last time it had happened,when the general involved was executed. So Demonsul needed to convince king Mardevius II that war was best for Ulen.

He found it easy with his new oration tacts. He advised, he counseled, he even went behind the backs of the other dukes to speak to Mardevius in private. In the end, King Mardevius decided (apparently of his own accord) that war was the best thing for Ulen. But with who? Serillia had proven itself too many times on the battlefield, it was too dangerous...Helvon was probably protected by serrilia, there were so many imports and exports between them...Franchort and Erenia were too far away, and Granchor island was inaccessible...and that left Kierait.
and thus, the war between ulen and kierait would soon begin...demonsul quickly advised the king to send out diplomats to the other lands to ascertain support. in the end, he got sent to serillia himself.
arriving in seris, demonsul got himself an audience with the ruler, emperor garon serillius. explaining his case, demonsul quickly established the fact of impending war, and asked serillius if he would support ulen, kierait, or remain neutral. he subliminally suggested grand rewards for helping ulen, and often mentioned that aiding kierait would reslt in only death and destruction.
in the end, serillius called a counsel of his dukes, counts and lords, and demonsul repeated his requests to them. the noblemen began talking amongst themselves, and finally a verdict was reached. a third of them wanted to help ulen, a third of them wanted to help harak, and a third wanted to remain neutral. but two could not decide, those two were duke delran and duke validus septim. demonsul asked them to reconsider, and choose a side. "serillia's alleigance rests with you two, please make the right choice. it could decide the outcome of the entire war."

Another boring two months for Artiul, he and his men are now some of the best in the Erenian army, yet they have not had a chance to prove themselves in battle so far [[HINT HINT!!!]]. Artiul hopes that perphaps soon another war will happen. Another two months of training, and he ate bread.

Also he bought tons of armor to protect himself in battle, he bought two special Iron Daggers that he has trained in to defeat most people in combat, but he is not one of the best yet. He bought a shortsword just incase he loses his longsword and gets stuck in a shield wall, and an average horse so he could see what is going on in the battle field. He trained with all of this and gained even more muscle mass, he gained 30lbs over two months.

Demonsul realized it would be a long time until the two dukes reached a verdict, and so he went home to Karron for two months and administrated it. At the end of a two month period, he went back to Serillia to find out if they had reached a verdict yet. When he got back to Serillia, he bought himself a horse, as it caught his eye. It was a white horse called Bane, and it was a champion.
As he rode on his new horse p to the Serillian capital's castle, he hoped this trip would be more fruitful than the last...

"The Knights of Cidel are always ready for war, Duke Demonsul," said Septim, "But, this is a war without a purpose. Kerait has done nothing to you, and I will not attack those who have done nothing to deserve it. And, I do not forget that you were the one who broke the tie, you sent aid to our enemy, the General. I am sorry, Demonsul, but if you attack Kerait, I vote that we should defend them."
After the meeting, Septim was proud that he had stuck to his beliefs, he hoped that his ally, Delran, would do the same. After the meeting, he rode to Cidel and called for transport to the Venifician tower for training in magic. For two months he learned Veteran spells for 23,000 gold (around 25% off for joining the Venifician order). After learning for two months, he received the rank of Mage from the Venifician Order and was able to teleport anywhere he had been before (as long as it's within fifty miles. You can use a relay method to teleport. :-)). After teleporting back to Cidel using the relay method, he continued administrating his Duchy.

After seeing Septim leave, Demonsul was somewhat taken aback. If this was how Delran decided to act, he'd be in trouble..."Don't you see?" he said, "the land is being suffocated! There are too many kingdoms feeding off of our limited resources. With this many kingdoms on the continent, and with their rising populations, it won't be long beofre even you have touble putting food on the table? You may not see it here in Serillia, but before long, famine will come knocking on your door...we must reduce the number of kingdoms left. With Ulen's rescources and Serillia's force, we can cleanse the land of the other kingdoms and survive! Is that not the very goal of existence; to survive?" Demonsul looked at his audience. Delran administrated his duchy in the morning. After noon, he received a message via a pidgeon from Emperor Serillius to come to a meeting in Seris about an incoming war. Delran took 400 lancers as personal guards and went to Seris. At the meeting, an Ulen duke named Demonsul asked Serilia to back Ulen in the incoming war with Kerait. After everyone had spoken, Delran arrised.

"You are asking for our help? If I recall, you sent forces in Serilia to back our rebel general. Why should we help you? You talk about famine, but let me tell you that Kharos can support the entire country with it's farming products, and togeder with Cidel is the main supplier of Serilia. I will not send any forces in this war. I do not support preemptive strikes. I will not send my dragons nor the troops of my duchy. But If you decide to attack Kerait, you will face my entire cavalry on the field, and let me warn you, they are Serilia's best, my Dragons beeing all knighted. I doubt you will be able to stand against their charge. So I vote to defend Kerait and I also warn you that should you do something that I dislike, I will do whatever it takes so that Serillia will declare war on Ulen."

Demonsul, you will recieve 5 PP despite leading your nation to ruin, if you surrender in the final battle in the war. Ulen will cease to exist and become part of Serillia. The war started with the invasion of Kerait by Ulen. Serillia entered the war two days later with the army under the command of Emperor Serillius (He's an expert at tactics). The armies clashed in the Battle of Redgrove, and it looked like Ulen might've won if it were not for reinforcements from Cidel and Kharos. With the tactical experience of Dukes Delran Silveur, Ulen's army was crushed. With Serillia's victory at the Battle of Redgrove, most of the other nations entered the war on Serillia's side. Together, they utterly destroyed Ulen in the final battle of the war. Afterwards, Ulen became a province of Serillia. Delran and Septim were made heroes of Kerait for their actions at the meeting before the war, and they returned home as glorious heroes.

With enough influence, and power, Septim declares independence from Serillia. Serillius is shocked, and sends troops to deal with the situation, but Septim's army of ten thousand men crushes Serillius's army of 15,000 (Due mostly to the fact that Serillius has no good Generals left with the defection of their two best battlefield commanders...). After crushing the army, Septim takes two undefended Duchies around his. Garon, knowing that to send more troops would make the situation worse, decides to instead have his men fortify against any attack that Cidel could launch.

After the king made the foolhardy frontal assault that Demonsul dreaded, he immediately gathered all his gold and as many of his old followers as he could, and fled. Riding hard, he made it to *location censored so you can't find me*, the one place nobody would look for him. When there, he found a deserted shack and moved in. It looked like he was back to square one.
Still, he now had a band of followers. He would soon be back in the cut-throat business, and on his way back to the top.
