Return of the Stormborn
05:24:00 Aug 8th 11 - Zond (General Tongue Whisperer):

A dark, mysterious force passes over and knocks the men overboard *loud howling, with a low whispering on the wind*

05:20:12 Aug 10th 11 - Stormy (Lord Stormcrowe):

OOC: <yet more and more crickets>

06:04:55 Aug 10th 11 - Emperor Tiberius Septimus Cidellus:

[[OOC: Ohms said he'd post tonight after work. :| ]]

06:39:45 Aug 10th 11 - Jesus Left Toe (Mr. Heyzeus):

Far to the north of his crew mates, Nökkvi had finally finished his climb, it had been as long as it was arduous, but he had struggled on, his left leg was no longer in pain, he couldn't feel it at all, but he had made it and made it alive.

From his vantage point, Nökkvi could see for many days walk in every direction. In the West there was a mountain range running off into the distance, forested on both sides, with the forest running as far as he could see too the north. In the south, plains, stretched out, green and lush, with a majestic river flowing through them to the sea in the east. Nökkvi squinted hard at the horizon, but it was impossible to tell if the slight blurring he could see far into the plains was smoke, or just low cloud.

He finished admiring the view and looked down at the beach to his south, 'some where down there' he thought, 'are the crew.' Although he did not know if they were dead or alive, he optimistically headed off at a fast limp towards the beach.

It wasn't long before he could distinguish figures, sitting around on the sand. One of them stood up and put his arm in the air, and Nökkvi heard a shrill whistle emanate from it. Unsure what it was, he headed quickly but cautiously towards the group of men.

15:35:35 Aug 10th 11 - Ohmly (Duke Ohmlyone):

The heat of the day bore down on the two men like the oppressive fist of an overlord. The jungle was steaming as the water deposited from the nights storm boiled off. The saunas Ohlaholf enjoyed so much in the hard winters of the north were nothing compared to this, but the overwhelming hunger in his belly was forgoing any complaints. Alrik was several yards to his left, moving with the deftness that was his profession. Ohmlaholf had been right, and the captain sent the two men to acquire food and water. The water was going to be easy, they had heard the rumbling of a river nearly the minute they entered the forest. Ohmlaholf began to run towards the sound, when Alkin pulled him short.

“Slowly me big friend, remember, where there is water, there is also food.” Alkin said, removing an arrow from his makeshift quiver and notching it in the string of his bow. “You go that way,” he continued as he pointed to the left, “If you see something, flush it my way. I will be ready,” he concluded as he silently moved off.

Ohmlaholf was not a great hunter. He was good enough with snares and the occasional trap, but Alkin was a master. Ohmlaholf was glad to have him in the forest alongside him. Ohmlaholf’s mind wondered as he made his way closer to the sound of the river. He wondered if there were any others alive. How were they going to get off this island? He continued along, deep in thought until he heard a cracking sound over the rush of water. He stopped and strained to hear better. Yes, he had heard something; it was measured footfalls to his left. He crouched and looked in the direction of the noise. There it was, a deer like animal, but massive. Nearly the size of a bear. The antlers were reaching out like clawed fingers over its brow. It move about, sporadically tilting its head to grab a bit of moss on the ground. Ohmlaholf slowly moved towards the beast as silently as he could. Finally, within a few yards off the beast, Ohmlaholf stood up and grabbed the things attention. Its muscles tensed as it readied for flight when…

Thuuump.

The creature fell to the ground Alkin’s arrow protruding from its chest. “Nice job,” Alkin waved, “perfect timing, having him stand erect gave me the perfect target,” he continued as he moved towards the deer-like thing. Ohmlaholf beamed as the two friends meet again over the beast, getting to the job of skinning and carving on the deer. He liked his friend. And a compliment from him was always pleasant.

The friends made short work of the beast, packing the meat on the skin and creating a makeshift litter of branches and Ohmlaholf’s leather throngs to drag the heavy load back to the camp. Alkin stayed with the prize as Ohlaholf jogged to the river to fill the few water skins the group had. The water was cool and tasted fantastic on Ohmlaholds tongue. He drank heavily and filled the water skins and returned to Alkin, offering up some of the water.

The men took turns dragging the litter of meat through the underbrush and over fallen limbs. The trek was hard, but Ohmlaholf knew, with the fire already going, it wouldn’t take long until his belly was going to be more than full. The two companions had made it quite a way into the forest on their hunt and when they come to its boundary, they were several miles from their camp, around a jut in the forest judging from the smoke billowing from the pyre. The two continued around the jut when they ran head long into a ship.

Half buried in the sand, the vessel was like none the two had seen before. It was a longboat to be sure. Judging by the age of the timbers, the ship was ancient. Ohmlaholf continued around the ship, surveying the seaworthiness of it. The hull was amazingly tight fitting. It probably took little tar to keep the joints from leaking. The aft of the ship was almost completely covered with sand, but in all, it looked like it could be excavated. Thirty feet in length, this vessel hand the bones of a powerful ship. With Alkin’s help, Ohmlaholf made purchase on the rail at the lowest part of the aft of the ship and catapulted over to the deck.

“The mast is splintered and the deck opened up all over,” he called to his friend, searching for a rope to throw over. Finding one and securing it to the rail, he tossed it down. Quickly, Alkin was by his side.

“Looks rough,” he said to his big companion, “Whatcha think?”

“Can’t tell for sure, but it looks like it might just float, with a few minor repairs and some pitch. We should look in the hold for supplies and see if there is any damage below,” Ohmlaholf said, as he head for a large hole towards the stern.

The two lowered themselves into the cargo hull and began looking about. The many openings in the deck cast light about the hull that danced about like fairies in the night. Old arms littered the floor of the hold. Axes, swords, shovels, and many other implements carried in most ships of adventure, were strewn about, all in various levels of rusting and degrading. Food stores in barrels had long since decayed or been eaten by animals and vermin. Further into the hold, the two found the reason for the beached ship. A three foot hold was ripped into the vessel.

“Other than the gash, it looks like we hit the jackpot,” Ohmlaholf said to Alkin as they returned to the sand. “We need to get this food and water back to the captain and move the camp here. I think with a little work, we can return to the sea fairly quickly.” This lightened Ohmlaholf mood greatly, and he increased his steps.

He would be back at sea soon he thought.

Very soon….

07:32:49 Aug 29th 11 - Mr. Corgi:

....... or not so soon. ;P

17:04:20 Aug 29th 11 - HorusPanic (Mr. Panic Lucky Number XIII):

i totally flaked on this, but i wanted to point out that the word 'jackpot' was not around until around 1870-1880

02:18:43 Aug 30th 11 - Ashe Annie Fortune Lightshield (Ms. Lightshield III):

07:52:00 Feb 29th 12 - Zond (The Valhalla Savior):

So I took off her shirt. Then she said, "Take off my skirt." I took off her shirt. "Take off my shoes." I took off her shoes. "Now my hose, bra, and panties." I took them off. Then she looked at me and said, "I dont want to catch you wearing my things ever again."

01:26:35 Nov 25th 12 - Ragnarr (Sir Conrad Von Hohenzollern):

Pity this thread died.

07:42:03 Nov 27th 12 - Emperor Tiberius Septimus Cidellus:

I'm a Roman, not a Norseman!

00:08:37 Nov 28th 12 - Senturu (Mr. Senturu of The Golden Spoon):

what does that have to do with anything?

00:09:43 Nov 28th 12 - Emperor Tiberius Septimus Cidellus:

Romans typically don't do well growing huge beards, manning longships, and going on adventures across frozen seas.

00:18:09 Nov 28th 12 - Senturu (Lord Senturu):

well thats bull. learn dang it. romans were supposedly smart people. they can learn!

01:36:32 Nov 28th 12 - Mr. Yukan:

Growing huge beards...?

01:59:31 Nov 28th 12 - Emperor Tiberius Septimus Cidellus:

09:59:05 Nov 28th 12 - Senturu (Lord Senturu):

congratulations on your birthday.

05:28:36 Nov 29th 12 - King Charley Who Deletes Dumb Posts:

It was quite dull for the most part...but I am making Apple Pie Moonshine as a result of my tedious activities that day.  Wouldn't Septim be proud?

Answer: No...no he wouldn't.  In fact, he would call me an idiot ;D

05:44:00 Nov 29th 12 - Senturu (Mr. Senturu of The Golden Spoon):

so would most others too

06:07:06 Nov 29th 12 - King Charley Who Deletes Dumb Posts:

06:19:53 Dec 1st 12 - King Damian Deallus The Ceiling Cat:

17:52:47 Dec 2nd 12 - Ragnarr (Sir Conrad Von Hohenzollern):

So are we reviving this thread for real or what?

00:11:26 Dec 3rd 12 - Grand Paladin His Holy Highness:

Oh do it do it!!!

I might actually try and join, although I haven't been following it at all or anything.
Im hoping to start being more active in my playing, so I might be active on here too!!

BTW, this is Jonny Bacardi

02:17:59 Dec 3rd 12 - Emperor Tiberius Septimus Cidellus:

Good to see you, Jonny!

And if a Stormborn is revived, the one and only Ragnarr (Conrad) should be the one to run it. If I end up running anything, it'll probably be something I'm better-suited for.

So if Ragnarr wants to start this back up, he's more than welcome to. It's his ship, afterall! I'll be happy to join if he does so. =)

03:35:09 Dec 3rd 12 - King Damian Deallus The Ceiling Cat:

Rawr,

As the Charley of this group, I would be glad to lend my bow to any grizzled old person willing to undertake this undertaking.

04:28:10 Dec 3rd 12 - Senturu (Lord Senturu):

lol, i dont even know what this thread was about to begin with

05:53:59 Dec 3rd 12 - King Damian Deallus The Ceiling Cat:

Then kindly see yourself out of it :)

07:21:05 Dec 4th 12 - Ragnarr (Sir Conrad Von Hohenzollern):

Wow, Jonny Bacardi! Great to see you are still around!

Septim, as much as I would like to truely revive this entire thread, I fear I do not have the necessary spare time on my hands for such an initiative. I do have just enough to part-take though.

12:10:26 Dec 4th 12 - Emperor Tiberius Septimus Cidellus:

Aw, now that's a shame.

To be honest, I think it'd be best to put this thread to rest and start up a new RP if Ragnarr cannot run it. I was never much cut out for running Stormborn RPs. Mine were like the really crappy direct-to-DVD sequels generated after a classic. ;)

06:22:19 Dec 5th 12 - Grand Paladin His Holy Highness:

Its great to be back guys. Although I too, am not as active as I used to be.

Septim, I think your selling yourself short. Your at least the equivalent of a really bad M Night Shyamalan movie.

But I can see it. It would be fun to maybe get something else going though. I've been out of the loop for a while. Any other good RP's going on right now?

09:45:38 Dec 5th 12 - Senturu (Lord Senturu):

ill join one!?!?!
