02:57:59 Jan 5th 11 - Lord Protector Nimic: I'm not too sure about playing minors. We tried that once, I seem to remember, and I think a couple of us were killed off within 15 minutes.
17:36:39 Jan 5th 11 - Lord Protector Nimic: We've played a couple of Interregnums actually. At least I remember games as both Bavaria and Savoie. I'll check your thing out, though.
17:48:21 Jan 5th 11 - Lord Protector Nimic: " Move the files not in any folder to your copied EU2 one."
17:59:46 Jan 5th 11 - Lord Protector Nimic: Okay, I just copied everything over in one batch, and it works fine. I can't alt-tab without crashing, but I think that was an issue before too.
19:42:15 Jan 5th 11 - Mr. Friendly Forum User: I don't really care about the mods/scen tbh. The whole "repetiveness" nature comes from our diplomacy, and not what nations are available, imo.
22:57:40 Jan 5th 11 - Mr. Kastiel: I'm having a fair amount of crashing with the UMP mod. Did I screw something up or is this a general problem?
23:35:57 Jan 5th 11 - Mr. Spoon: If you change some of the options, it's a crash. If that's not the problem, are you playing with version 1.09? Otherwise you screwed up.
23:51:18 Jan 5th 11 - Lord Protector Nimic: It only crashed for me when I tried to alt-tab. I haven't actually tried playing very long, only a couple of months.
00:54:03 Jan 6th 11 - Mr. Kastiel: Only option I changed was speed. I'd prefer more people try out this mod before multiplayer to make sure it's going to work without crashing a fair bit. Also, I'm using 1.09.
01:21:57 Jan 6th 11 - Mr. Spoon: It works fine for me. I can't think of any other problems.
02:24:54 Jan 6th 11 - Mr. Friendly Forum User: I've only played it for a few months too with no crashes yet. Maybe clean install the game again, then go through Ghoumas steps again Rhade?
04:32:07 Jan 6th 11 - Lord Protector Nimic: He said he had a few exams coming up I believe, but I don't think they were going to last very long. So if we start in a couple of weeks or whatever he might be in. That's mostly speculation, though =P
06:25:34 Jan 6th 11 - Mr. Kastiel: So if we're playing UMP, which scenario? FAL or the UMP grand campaign or what? Can't seem to get FAL 1492 loading without crashing.
16:15:20 Jan 6th 11 - Mr. Ghouma: The UMP scenario is what we will be playing Kast. Its been used for a lot of ballplayer games so it should be without to many issues.
18:24:42 Jan 6th 11 - Mr. Friendly Forum User: How are the countries going to be assigned? Randomly, or picked?
23:06:07 Jan 6th 11 - Mr. Kastiel: Jajaja, I haven't had any crash problems since starting the UMP. I like it so far. How many players are we going to have?
13:09:19 Jan 7th 11 - Mr. Scarlett Johanssen: Ofc I'm in(if we find a night that works for me). Also I have 2 friends who would like to join in(again depending on if it works for them). On a scale from 1-5 I would grade them lvl2 and lvl3(they lack experience of playing MP). /Augh
13:11:55 Jan 7th 11 - Mr. Scarlett Johanssen: Countries are assigned by seeding countries/players and then assigning randomly(imo). The most important thing is that countries that are natural enemies/competitors get evenly matched players. Will check out UMP when I get home... Also, if it works I can do the hosting. I have a new(ish) computer and got the 100MB connection. We should also ask if Pettson is on.
13:17:58 Jan 7th 11 - Mr. Scarlett Johanssen: In list thus far:
So, list of countries? | ||||
15:48:23 Jan 7th 11 - Mr. Ghouma: Standard list of nations,
19:38:22 Jan 7th 11 - Mr. Ghouma: Alternative nation list.
20:11:12 Jan 7th 11 - Mr. Kastiel: Mamelukes instead of OE? I like the alternative list better :P
20:49:01 Jan 7th 11 - Mr. Kastiel: Take that back. Qara Koyunlu seems much better positioned to replace ottomans, though it would be a while before they bumped up against any European player.
22:10:09 Jan 7th 11 - Mr. Friendly Forum User: Do they have interesting events though, Ghouma?
07:11:30 Jan 8th 11 - Lord Protector Nimic: 11 people is probably too much. I haven't played in a game that big, but from what I remember it was supposed to cause big instability to have more than, say, 8 players.
12:17:49 Jan 8th 11 - Mr. Spoon:
| ||||
13:05:55 Jan 8th 11 - Mr. Ghouma: Since I work I have to get up early and cant play all night. But Tuesdays at 7 seem reasonable, can everyone at this day and time?
19:32:37 Jan 8th 11 - Mr. Friendly Forum User: would prefer thursdays tbh, but pretty open to most days
19:39:27 Jan 8th 11 - Lord Protector Nimic: Which UMP scenario are we using? I'm assuming not the 1419 one, but the one after that (1450 or something)?. What about options? There are quite a few. Obviously if we play with Burgundy, "hands off Burgundy" must be on. Also, "locked Land slider" should be off, I don't like that one.
20:54:09 Jan 8th 11 - Mr. Spoon: I'd like to play Brandenburg or Russia. :))
23:39:06 Jan 8th 11 - Mr. Kastiel: I like Brandenburg. Could live with Burgundy, probably, obviously assuming no France. Assuming no Sweden...Denmark might actually be my first choice, but I'll need to experiment more, first. Also, why not the 1419 scenario?
23:53:59 Jan 8th 11 - Mr. Finwe: I would so spank the shit out of you eu tards
11:19:20 Jan 9th 11 - Lord Protector Nimic: Because the 1419 scenario is woefully unbalanced for multiplayer. For one thing, France and all its vassals start at war with Burgundy and England. If we have a player controlled Burgundy, and they lose the initial war (a possibility), that could pretty much be the end of the game for them right there.
16:59:08 Jan 9th 11 - Mr. Spoon: Meh. Easy war. It took me a year and a half to get this on very hard. I think 1419 is the best scenario. If we play the 1450(?) scenario, a lot of countries are pure powerhouses already. There's no way i.e. Hungary could make a stand against the Ottomans in 1450.
17:04:41 Jan 9th 11 - Mr. Friendly Forum User: Let's kick the organisation into overdrive, guys. We need a dictator.
| ||||
17:33:31 Jan 9th 11 - Mr. Ghouma: I can take care of making a list of countries and off players tomorrow. We could apply some kind of seeding when it comes to awarding nations to players but since most of us are quite experienced at Multiplayer EU2 by now perhaps we can just let everyone play something they think seem fun. When it comes to what days, how about Tuesdays at 19:00 CET? 6 pm in England.
17:49:30 Jan 9th 11 - Lord Protector Nimic: Spoon, there's a reason why very very few big games were ever played on the 1419 scenario. It's not balanced. And you winning a war against the AI means literally nothing. That was done with no interfering from humans. If we have an England player, France will be in a much, much more difficult spot. And if we don't have a France player (instead have only Burgundy), England will be too strong.
17:51:51 Jan 9th 11 - Mr. Ghouma: I dont think anyone would abuse the situation early game, Nimic. What nations would you want to play?
18:00:25 Jan 9th 11 - Mr. Scarlett Johanssen: I could go for Venice if there is no Austria. And tuesdays work for me.
18:44:58 Jan 9th 11 - Mr. Friendly Forum User: I'd prefer a non-colonising nation, purely because the last 3 MPs ive been stuck with one. But am open to all really.
23:16:55 Jan 9th 11 - Mr. Kastiel: I've decided Denmark(No Sweden) is definitely my first choice. Followed by Brandenburg and then Burgundy. Tuesdays will work for me as well. Noon my time, I believe, but I've got no classes on Tuesdays so it will work fine :D
01:20:48 Jan 10th 11 - Lord Protector Nimic: Let's get this going soon. What we need now is first of all to finally decide which scenario to play. Personally I think the 1450-ish one is the best one to go. Let's just sort it out.
01:32:19 Jan 10th 11 - Lord Protector Nimic: Also, there's the issue of the host. If people can connect to me, I'd be willing to do it. My connection should definitely be able to handle 11 players, if indeed that's what we've got.
01:49:28 Jan 10th 11 - Mr. Finwe: invade england from sweden and take over canada! it works!
06:52:45 Jan 10th 11 - Mr. Ghouma: I will look at the 1450 scenario Nimic, Osi, that only works until England gets a thousand galleys! Christ you were annoying, will you play with us again?
20:49:13 Jan 10th 11 - Lord Protector Nimic: Also guys, start idling #eu2 again, alright? It's by far the best way of having everyone in sync.
21:00:20 Jan 10th 11 - Mr. Ghouma: Nimic: OE
21:06:48 Jan 10th 11 - Lord Protector Nimic: unless we have a bunch more players I dont think Brandenburg is going to work very well. Not with Denmark, Venice, Austria and maybe Poland (and if any, I'd rather have Poland than Brandenburg in the game). Then again, if someone really wants to play them..
21:15:35 Jan 10th 11 - Mr. Ghouma: Here is a screen of Europe in 1450.
21:21:42 Jan 10th 11 - Mr. Spoon: I agree Nim, I'd like to give Spain a shot if that's okay with uh, everybowwy.
