Mr. Killer
Lived in Era 23 and got 1 heir(s) (Killer).
Killer may have fallen but a troll scrambled out before the enemy had taken him. He recruited trolls out of the forest. He chopped down trees and mined stone. He sold them and got money. He then had enough to make colony and make a colony he did. He would avenge Killer eventually, who had promised the young troll his throne after he died because the troll saved his life from a near defeat before, but alas could not do it again. He built colonies around the world, but was waiting for the right moment to avenge the great Killer. He adopted the name so he could exact his revenge... Then as he was about to avenge Killer great big chunks of rock fell from the sky and destroyed his cities. A great mage had cast armageddon. Killer died from it, as well as all his people apart from a few that hid underground. There were ten left, no trolls, all of them had been destroyed fighting, but 2 dwarfs, 2 humans, an orc, an elf and 4 halfings.

Yet the strange new intellectual beings were smart and at home. They picked on him, and tried to take over his colonies. He fended them off but he knew his father would have done better and driven them back and taken their cities. But he couldn't, he just couldn't manage it in this new strange world.

"Bring me my father's history" said a voice with authority."We cannot find it lord." "How couldn't you find it? He told ten writers to write it down for him." "It was burned lord, they destroyed his history." The young orc's face contorted with rage. "How dare they, my father, who had taken a whole city on his own, when all his men ran off. He who single-handedly fought a battle with one thousand men and won. He, the greatest orc whoever lived. The only reason those slithering cowards beat him was because they all joined together, all eighteen of them. I shall avenge his death." "No you won't, you shall go to the hell that you deserve with him." A dwarf swung his mighty axe at the orc and chopped off his head. "I am leader now. I am Killer now. Kill all the orcs in this city, and enslave all but the dwarfs... Stop gawking at the body and do as I said you runt." "B-b-b-but sir this city has always elected their leader, and always been a mixed race city." The dwarf swung his mighty axe at the speaker and killed him. "Now listen you" pointing to the only other dwarf in the room and only being, "if you don't do as I say you will end up like him. You will say that it was the orc's last wish." "The orcs are half the population sir, and us dwarfs are only a tenth of the population. We will never be able to kill all the orcs." "Then send all the orcs into a battle against the neighbouring city. Make sure they meet an unexpected end. As for the elves, trolls, halflings and humans, tell them that the orcs are planning a rebellion and get them to kill them. That will be their unsuspected end." "Yes sir, ingenius sir."
"Sir we found a spy elf in the city." "What are you waiting for, bring him in here."
"It's a monster. Kill it." "He says he is an albino elf sir." "What have you got to say for yourself albino?" "Nothing" replied the albino elf. "What is your name?" Killer asked. "Killer" replied the albino elf. "Are you questionning my right to the throne? You good for nothing elf,you snivelling liar. You there take this monster to the whip. Fifty times." "Yes, of course sir."
"He didn't groan or squeal once sir. He just endured the pain." "Huh. Now albino what is your name?" asked Killer. "Killer."
"You are not Killer you are just an ugly monster. You will never get to this throne. The only reason you haven't cried out is because you are so unfeeling." roared Killer. "I have already been on this throne. It is unfortunate that it is ruled now by a murderous dwarf who murdered the next leader" the albino spat. "Already on this throne? When was that? Never I should think. Not even a monster like you would look up to you as a king, let alone a whole town of decent citiznes." "I believe it was one hundred and thirty-six years ago. It was much better ruled then." "Not even an elf would live for that long and still look as young as you. And where did you hide coward, when the armies came to destroy the cities? You weren't there, and you never were in this kingdom. Not one of my people would have an ugly creature brought up. Don't lie to me. Take him to the dungeons. He can be executed in three days time."
"He's gone sir." "Who is gone?" "The albino sir." "We don't have time to be worrying about that, there is an army heading our way, 1,000,000 orcs!" "I'm afraid you do.", said the albino elf, and with that, plunged his rapier into the dwarf's back. "You there, I want all archers up on the walls. All the humans, halflings, orcs, trolls and elves are coming back to here, 500,000 trained soldiers left. With the extra 100,000 here it should be enough." "Yes sir, where did they come from?" "They didn't kill each other off, now go." " Yes."
"Sir we have won, but our loses are huge." "Well let us make them up,I shall lead them better than that dwarf."

"What did you do?, the cities were fine, until you started leading them!" shouted Killer at his deputy. "I kept one city left, sir." "I had fifteen, and you kept one while I was sick, aren't you great. You are not my deputy any longer."
And with that Killer built his empire back up, but not to quite the same size. But his armies had been ruined, and the peoples' morale ruined. He got it back, but he didn't do any better than it had been.
"Sir, how are you feeling?" "Terrible, I think I shall die soon." "We will have to sort out the next ruler." "The people have always voted, let them vote. You there, sweeper of floors, come here. What are you?" "I'm a cross between an orc, elf, human, dwarf, halfling and troll, your majesty." "I amn't a king, and you will receive my vote for the next ruler." "But sir, he's a monster!" "Well, I'm sure he can handle the rulership better than you, you who lost all my cities save one." "But,but this is outrageous. He's a monster, a mongrel!" "He will receive my vote, not everyones. I am just giving my vote to him." replied Killer. "But I'm not worthy sir." exclaimed the floor-sweeper. "You are more worthy than me. Please, at least go in for the votes, as my last request." These were Killer's final words.
The floor-sweeper went in for the votes, and won with 74% of the votes, as a lot of people voted for him, when word got out that the previous ruler had voted for him. The elf who had ruled while Killer had been sick was enraged, and challenged the new Killer to a duel. He used magic upon Killer, but it didn't work, as Killer was a powerful mage, even if he did not know it. He parried with the elf, and though the elf was a good swordsman, Killer was better. He delivered the final stroke. It was fatal, despite the best mages trying to heal him, they failed. A cheer went up,"All Hail the new Killer!" from the people.

Killer looked across his lands, crouching, wounded, dieing. He knew he would die soon. The blood was spattered all across the ground. A drop every second, his life slipping from his grasp quickly. The enemies had marched through his land, and it seems someone in his own lands was working against him. Must have been a cunning man... or woman, he thought. It didn't matter now, the enemy was dead anyway, most at any rate, even though there was several million. He recollected his thoughts, and tried to remember what exactly had happened. Dieing has a curious effect on you... He remembered his standing up against the hordes, a final stand, pathetic and pointless. He had expected the rest to flee, for even though his ruling was just and maybe even generous, he tried to tax the people as little as possible, he had lost his lands, and with it the lives of many innocent people. But, they didn't. Perhaps it was some last thread of hope they hung on to, or perhaps complete despair, flinging themselves into Death's grip. Or perhaps it was knowing these people would hunt them down at any rate. They flocked to defend the cities walls. The last few remaining anyway. Around one million peasants, armed with nothing but sticks and stones, at most ten trained in any shape or form in the art of war. He was thankful that they stood, even if it was utterly pointless. He then began to get angry at these men marching through his lands, destroying his people where they trod. His anger gave him power, power he had not felt for a long time. Power to control the earth, power to control the wind. But, most of all, power to control death. He smelt the dank stench of it before even one person was killed. He blasted forth with an amazing magic, one that itself stank of death, as if hundreds of lost souls were gathered into it. It reached the enemy at the same time that he unleashed it. It was a spell more powerful than a million mages together could perform. It wiped out the enemy, but more than that, it wiped out his own people. The people who had stood behind him always, unswaying. It did not completely wipe them out though, for even if it was a spell of death, it was based on decay, fast decay, but not as quick as Killer realised what he had done. Killer would have lived, but at the suffering death of all the rest of his people. And so from him, a spell of healing came forth, as he had no reason to kill all these people who worked hard in the city, at various jobs, leading poor lives. The spell of healing blasted across the acrid plains, healing people as it went. It brought nearly all back to a weak state, but still alive, and not rotting and decaying their ways to death. There were a few that had already slipped past the gates that seperated the living and dead, and none could come back through those gates. He healed the enemy as well. He healed the various animals that happened to be anywhere near at the time, and he healed people who were leagues away, and were dieing of something else, but it was such a powerful healing spell, that it healed everything. He saw the enemy look amoungst them shaking their heads confusedly. But then, then they charged, as if nothing had happened. Killer had seen to the demise of his own people, and the life remaining of his enemies. He had no energy left to move though now, let alone cast a spell of any sort. Then he saw him. A man, runnign through his peasants. He knew this man was not of his lands, his skin was paler, whereas his people were tanned golden brown. He had dark brown hair, towards the blondeness of his kind. And he had blue eyes, hardened from the winters he had seen, yet compassionate still., towards the greens and browns of the people surrounding him. He ran swift and strong, running out to meet the enemy. Any idiot could see he would die, yet there was hope in his eyes still. As the first of the wave greeted him, he gave off a luminescent glow. The enemy was pushed back, back on to the cruel spikes they carried. But the aim of the mysterious man wasn't to kill all of them. They were just the innocent soldiers of the men who controlled them. No, he just cast some sort of strange spell and the people were gone. Killer saw this in his dieing moments and collapsed, writhing in agony. Still had a single strand of life within him, and he knew he was going to die. The man appeared beside him, he must be adept at teleporting thought Killer to himself. He tried some healing healing spells on Killer, but he said to leave him be, that he would die soon. He asked the man to lead his people to safety. The man said he would, and Killer soon afterwards passed through the gates of death. However upon his dead person, there was an item. The man picked up the item and looked at it, and he dropped it. He knew he shouldn't have, as he had it in his palm. He bent down to look at it, but it had disappeared. He walked away, trodding upon it, unaware that it was there...

Lanoc sat upon his stool, chewing his dinner, or rather, trying to. He looked at the barmaid, Ekal. "Why do you serve food, and not supply te proper instruments," he asked of her. To which Ekal replied "What more do you want, than a fork and knife. Most poor boys eat with their hands, I don't know how you got such good table-manners, and are so rude at all else." "I would like a saw, and something else to mash the food up to be able to eat." Ekal laughed. "Well, maybe you should pay more." "I don't see why, you never seem to serve good food." "We do indeed, just give us an extra coin or two...," Lanoc interrupted at this point "Or 10..." and Ekal continued on, ignoring him apart from a severe glance in his direction, "And we will serve the best damn meals in this forsaken town. We are, after all, the second richest taverne in this place, and you hardly think we got all that money from serving lowly peasants such as your self." Lanoc replied, in mock horror, "The second richest?! With not even proper implements to eat with?!" Ekal ignored him, and Lanoc continued to munch through his dinner, a hard chicken, capable of breaking a tooth, some type of vegetables, or at least he hoped so... and potatoes, with gravy trickling down over them, and it was long cold, with Lanoc's difficulty eating it, not that it started off the warmest. Lanoc wished he could have a nicer meal. He knew he could have got the money easily if he wanted to, he was a brilliant thief, but only robbed people when necessary, and always little then. He sometimes wished he hadn't a conscience, then he could live in luxury. It's not as if the richer couldn't afford to be parted from a little. He walked outside, towards his haven, a little rathole of a place, but at least he could sleep there without any diseases getting him. He longed for the days goneby, when his parents were alive, who were well-to-do merchants, and treated him well. But alas, they would never come back, he knew, thinking of the terrible day when they were no-more, vanquished by a fire, which took their lives, and the lives of many others, on the freezong cold day, 10 years from the day. He was little older then 4, but still recalled the good days while his parents were alive. Not that he was terribly badly off, well he was, but he didn't think he was, he wouldn't starve like the other kids at any ate, who sometimes lined the streets during a cold winter, dead...

Lanoc wandered down the streets. It was cold, the snow was falling. He liked the crunch of snow beneath his feet, but didn't care much for the snow otherwise. There was a flurry of activity between the guards. They seemed to be gathering up men. Lanoc crept closer for a closer look. "There must be five hundred thousand men coming! You think we can withstand that. We have hardly any men in this city, they all died at the city before us, at the wall, protecting all these cities." one guard said, his voice quavering. "We have one hundred thousand troops stationed in this city and the ones near here. We have one million coming from the north, but not quick enough I fear. We have one million peasants in this city alone, and four million in these surrounding cities," another replied. "But peasants can't fight!" yelled the former. "Well, we will just have to trust our defences, we have no choice," replied the former, calmly, obviously a patient and calm person by nature.
Lanoc crawled up one of the guard-towers, careful not to be seen. The guard on duty there must have been away. He looked across the plains in front of the city, and saw a vast army, with troops beyond count. Lanoc shook his head in despair. None could survive that force. He heard voices below. He quickly sneaked out of the tower, and away from it. The army was a mere two hours march from the city, and they would be more than capable of killing them. Lanoc knew the number of troops stationed in the city where he was alone. A mere fifty thousand. They would not stand the might of the army. Not that it was a small number, but small in comparison. He wandered around the streets, cold, but he didn't care.It would not matter if he got sick or not, as he would be dead or a slave by tomorrow, if even they lasted that long. He climbed up to his shack, and fell asleep there after a long while, even with the sound of battle that had not come yet ringing in his ears.
He woke, after a long time of sleeping. He had slept the nght away, and awoke to the sound of battle. He got up, and left his shack, and headed to the wall. The streets were in turmoil, but he managed to weave a way through. It was hard-going. He managed to get to the deserted wall. He saw a dead guard lieing there, sword beyond his dead grasp. Lanoc picked it up. It was lighter than he thought they were, but still heavy enough. He took the guard's helm and shield too. He was infuriated with the injustice of his city being destroyed by these blood-thirsty troops. He looked at the wall, which was beginning to crumble even as he stared. The wall collapsed all of a sudden, and Lanoc found himself staring at thousands of men, and he knew there were many times that waiting behind that and around te city walls. He stood alone against the hungry mass of troops. He charged, knowing he would die. One of them laughed, and many others started. He did not laugh long however, as Lanoc plunged his sword through his neck, severing his head from the rest of his body. Lanoc felt horrible, but had not time for thought, as the horde began to come into the city, spreading out in all directions. Lanoc was swallowed up in the mass, and somehow got mistaken for a troop of their own. He went along, he had no choice, unless to die instead. The troops stationed in the city began to fight the foe, as well as the peasants knowing they had no hope. The troops easily cut them down, with little more difficulty with the trained troops.
Lanoc heard a horn, not among the army in which he stood. It was the horn of the troops in the surrounding friendly towns and cities. They had come, but were only fifty thousand strong. Still, they attacked with venom, and the enemy were confused. They were wuickly beaten back though. The enemy emerged the victor, well trained and well led. They had lost about one hundred thousand men. Four hundred thousand remained. Lanoc looked about at the destruction. The city had been rasied to the ground, and he seemed to be the only survivor. He yelled, and began stabbing the troops near him. He felled twenty before they realised what was happening. They pulled back away from him, and arrows were shot at him. He blocked them with his shield. He then felt a surge of energy, none of which he had felt the like of before. It as painful, in a way. He became charged with magical energy, and released it, uncontrollably. It blasted all over the place. Hundreds of troops around him were blasted back, and were skewered on the spears and swords of other. The blast continued on, killing many men. Eventually, the magic died out, not after having killed tens of thousands of men. Lanoc collapsed on the ground, weak with exhaustion. Most of the troops fled the city, and any that remained stayed away from Lanoc. Lanoc fell into unconciousness.
