Sure, why not? I only just started playing 9 days ago (litterally, 9 days ago of all time ever on vu, so I can't be very good, only recently come out of protection, and i've even lost a city. ) and I already have 200k troops. I'd have a lot more if I went all swordies too. Millions dead sounds very reasonable.
