Fantasia Plague
16:21:36 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Sloth:

So as far as I can tell, everyone on Fantasia now has the plague or will soon. Comments?

16:24:32 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Righthand of Onuris:

Bring back Armageddon!

:P

16:24:40 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Cronus:

...that casting cure plague doesnt cost me over 2k MUs on most casts =/ (when you have to cast around 30times it builds up)

16:25:29 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Killstone:

comments? who is the SOB that cast this damn spell?

16:26:22 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Sloth:

Whose bright idea was this spell anyway?  This spell is going to be a nightmare for Fantasia because so many kingdoms are packed so tightly together that it will require world-wide coordination to fix it.  Miss one scout and start all over again, yay!!! And who was the genius who cast it in the first place?

16:28:51 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Knigh:

think its pretty funny, wonder if it can go to different worlds :)

16:29:13 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Sloth:

it will when i send infected armies there ;-) if it can spread by armies, that is

16:37:53 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Deadordying:

Last era 2 of my cities were infected with plague but the armies in the cities weren't. so until I had enough MUs to cure plague I just put the peassies in an army and they all survived. I bought enough slaves to cover production so plague didn't really affect my income much. My armies on the field were decimated though.

DoD

16:37:57 Jan 14th 09 - Sir Bran:

'And who was the genius who cast it in the first place?'

my moneys on someone from Vengeance

16:53:24 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Landry:

yeah I think that would be cool to have armageddon now that you can move between worlds.

17:06:41 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Seloc:

Dammit I wanted to do that!!!

17:27:13 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Santa The Returned:

If my unaffected army would fight and kill an affected army, would they get infected 2? Sending out infected strategies would become a world wide tactic then ;)

17:37:46 Jan 14th 09 - Prince Mielo:

yes ... if you get close by the infected region, you get infected

18:07:40 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Jang Star:

I am unaware of this.  Heck today, I woke up and my peasants had the ninja...I mean plague.. Got hit hard

18:12:54 Jan 14th 09 - Sir Deadpool:

Yeah I got hit as well on multiple cities.

18:13:17 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Righthand of Onuris:

It definitely is no one from Nubs. We have better things to do than cast Plague and infect ourselves.

18:54:00 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Farmer Agamemnon:

same goes for us in fate:S damn thing is worse to get rid of then jock's itch....

18:55:38 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Jang Star:

Is it a coincidence that the plague started right after these failed to cast on one of our elves?

Possible source:

  • 12:02:56: Mr. Cronus attempted to cast a spell upon us.
  • 12:02:58: Mr. Cronus attempted to cast a spell upon us.

  • 19:04:15 Jan 14th 09 - Duke Michael Deallus:

Looks like Retribution :o  None of them have denied casting it from what I have read.  Bad ol' plague :(

    19:09:21 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Cronus:

lol if your from V or Fate Jang Star, that is from freeze, RoF and EITs attempts. As you in V might have noticed a lot of your armies heading into your blocker have been hindered for 7 or more days =) and whats more I didnt have lvl 9 magic till two hours ago, or enough MUs to cast after all the freeze EITS and RoF casts I have been doing recently.

Also, do you really think no one would have been casting spells at that sort of time? I imagine AT LEAST five other people would have been casting, or trying to cast, some kind of spell at that time

    19:11:34 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Sloth:

to my knowledge we didn't cast it but i will grill our elves and make sure

    19:14:19 Jan 14th 09 - Sir Hirgon Sadron:

How do you know it was someone on Fant who cast it?

    *fidgets*...

    19:16:17 Jan 14th 09 - Prince Mielo:

Couldn't this be a bug? It happened to us last era on mantrax ... Arzun tried to cast something and all of a sudden the entire region was infected ...

If that is the case, it's necessary to clear this out! How about starting to completely delete that spell :)

    19:17:00 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Sloth:

i'd like to send whoever sent it here their own little present

    19:18:19 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Jang Star:

I just want to find out who did it.   That's all.

    19:19:42 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Righthand of Onuris:

Is this an act of God? Not those Gods from the Nubs, but Zeta himself? :P

True...someone from a lower world could have popped onto Fant, casted it, and ran like hell....would be a *beep* move :o

    19:24:07 Jan 14th 09 - Sir Abaddon:

It apparently doesn't matter where your cities are located to in relation to others.  I had cities more than a map tile away from each other and with no army contact get it at the same time.

So either it's being cast on many targets by the same person ( I use person very loosely ) or it's busted and randomly hops to any target it wants to.

Curing it's also apparently a waste of time unless everyone in the area cures everything at the same time.  Which isn't gonna happen in my kd and probably no one elses either.

So it looks like, put a slave in every city to maintain production and Bring out yer dead!!!

Hey, maybe everyone will die and the only ones left will be zombies, ghouls and other flesh eaters and those people clammering yet again for a new race will get their wish!!

    Sarcastically yours,

    Abaddon

Mhmm, that was my thought.  If that is the case, it would have to be perpetrated by two kingdoms, or at least by two players from different kingdoms.  One would have to be an elf, and if they're smart, the second would be a halfling.

    19:26:29 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Sloth:

It spreads from a city's LOS.  So does that make a city with 2k guard towers the ultimate plague spreader?

(credit to Bran for this optimistic thought of the day)

    19:31:55 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Sloth:

    /o.o\

    19:39:28 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Mcmax:

Hmmm, I havn't done much out of medicine (I don't like doctors). Everything can be cured with 3 stouts and 12 hours of sleep. Have to be used again and again until you health is restored. It always works - it have never failed on me ;-).

    Let the plague come!

    19:39:48 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Gingerbread Man:

lol, that would be mean to blitz build GTs to spread plague farther lol

    Hope so.

Ohhh, now serious (it is hard for me,  I know) but I were hit last age - not very serious, only one of my cities and not for a long time (the city was conquered by Blood Fang)........

Here is some of the "noise", that came from last outbreak of the plague: http://visual-utopia.com/forum.asp?f=Bugs%20and%20Errors&t=Plague+BS&replies=39

I'm sure we had more about the same, but I can't find it right now.

    20:14:49 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Erebus:

plague spreading because of guardtowers?  that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard (if it's true). Can you imagine if the plague was actually like that, "Hah! I looked at you! now your sick!"

    20:17:34 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Gingerbread Man:

Hehe, well, I'm pretty sure last era we figured out it was LOS, so [game-wise] the GT thing should do what Sloth suggested...granted in real life it would be pretty funny....heelllllo binoculars! =D

    20:18:20 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Mcmax:

I think that's a way to "show", that the plague spreads via traderoutes and with armies. Just as it does in ´(at least one other) game(s). The old Call To Power fx.

    20:19:54 Jan 14th 09 - Sir Ryan The Quiet:

LOL if some *beep*s from another world cast plague and sent a halfernerd to infect fant that would be funny.

Screw that, my new goal is to make sure next era is under eternal Plague, just to piss all you off ¬.¬ Stop whining and learn that there is a spell called CURE PLAGUE
Wraith did it! He said that last era :p

    20:29:06 Jan 14th 09 - Lord Frost Wraith:

    Oh no!! I did it!!!(?)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    The horror :O

    20:42:48 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Mcmax:

It's always the same, you do not have to read to the ending....

In a Crimi it's a Butler. In VU it's Wraith.........

    20:43:03 Jan 14th 09 - Mr. Gingerbread Man:

so if Deallus was the messenger that brought us the news....we all know what happens to messengers with bad news... =)

    Suicide????

Ernie the Orange get Ernie the Red (just as in old days)?

    20:48:17 Jan 14th 09 - Prince Mielo:

Does it involve butt? If so, I think Wilberforce might be game

    No-no-no-no Mielo. Wrong again.

That was just because something didn't go the way Ernie wanted it (as far as I remember). Something with the bloodpressure and the colour on the face.

BTW: That was the same age Wraith casted Armageddon on Zetamania. And the same age a Hoarde was created outside Fant/Mant for the 1st time, also on Zetamania.

    Done by RoC (and SK).
