As for your "trick or treat" train of thought - i know, i know, we are using the well known, ages old trick of growing colonies to get income, which we convert to troops which in turns gives end-game score, and we desperately need that indeed.

And this should be a lesson to the rest of you, VU players! Do NOT grow colonies! Do NOT get income! Do NOT fight fear/fate when they come knocking at your door with those troops that you've acquired through those underhanded activities of growth and expansion! Stay SMALL! Stay TIMID! Because otherwise TBL will pop a vein and go cry in a corner (*cough* forums *cough*).

Hehe, yuh, the trick is which comes first, the chicken or the egg...would be nice to time it so we had a non-gangbang, non-NAP era, but the trick is knowing that they are not going to gangbang (or vice versa NAP and steamroll); like Path said it's definitely a self perpetuating process

Muhaha makes me laugh, that's nothing personal against you Grumpy, but my experiences in that games taughed me otherwise. Maybe I should come and join you kingdom once to experience a new side of VU :D.

And about the endless stupid comments on 1vs 2, 3 vs 6, 16 vs 35 is era after era always the same BS to make their own nuts bigger then they are =P.
All players who play the game know that not player size matters, but the activity, experience and tactic with races.
E.g. who would bet on a human to win a 1 vs 1 (starting OOP) against a halfer this era, both players with same skill and activity ?
No who is not insane.
I even wouldnt't bet on 3 orcs vs one halfer (without magic support)...

And here comes the point.
All attackers from FEAR (I have not seen that many yet) were all halfers with big armies, soo big I even couldn't maintain half of them. And they were fighting the big giant allainces in the south with a 35men whom some are inactive, some have chosen the wrong race (all but halfers this era ^^) and some who do a good job fighting back.
If you ask me, Fear is doing a pretty good job, having choosing the right strategy from the beginning and with that, their activity and their experienced players you can't say they suffer a disadvantage in their war in the south west, though they are fighting 3 extremly big and dangerouse kingdoms at once =P....

To all those who wonder why I am wrighting soo much back having nothing better to do thesedays; Well yeah got a sunburn and am bored to stay all time in the room learning my vocabularies ;)
