03:18:36 Jan 15th 13 - Mr. Cyberdemon of Stormy:
[From TBL the lurker]
Such immense dedication to the game. Swifty at last achieves what Stirlin and even Wilber have accomplished long long LONG time ago.
After 6 seasons, his club finally gets promoted, and finally turns professional.
The moral of the story is that hard work does pay off, and it will even gloss over one's incompet...... nevermind, hard work does pay off. If you fail to get your club promoted in your first, second or even third season, work at it again and again and AGAIN. Sooner or later, you are bound to succeed eventually.
[P.S. And taking from this, sooner or later, Wilber is bound to beat me in VU. He just needs to try and try and TRY. Even if he is an incompet.... nevermind, just try harder Wilber!]

03:45:34 Jan 15th 13 - Mr. Body Issues Moorely:
Fair play TBL, usually I think of you as a humourless, obsessive git, but that was quite funny this time.
I doff my managers cap to you.

Sometimes all one needs in order to be funny is just to state the facts as it is. No need for any unnecessary embellishment or exaggeration ;)

13:25:54 Jan 17th 13 - Mr. Fmbest:
What is the name of the manager on everybody's lips and what is their story? No, not Pep Guardiola and his rejection of Chelsea. Nor is it Jose Mourinho attempting to get fired, nor is it James Moore finally earning promotion after 5(/6?) seasons. It was Josh Reed - wonder manager.
Following the end of last season, Casa Pia received over £200,000 for their place in the league. Using this money, the team budget was massively increased, to nigh on £10,000 a week salary. Josh Reed decided to make a couple key signings, following the departure of several players due to contracts ending.
The first being Arroe.
The second, Agu.
With these new signings, Reed stepped up once more to the spotlight. Although, with these new additions, Casa Pia only had 17 first team players, no reserves and a youth team.
However, things did not get off to a great start. Casa Pia lost their first 4 games in the league, and they weren't closely fought games either. Losing 1-0 against a newly promoted team, followed by a 3-0 defeat at home. Next came the team who would eventually finish dead last. Casa were smashed by them 3-1 followed by a 4-2 defeat to a team who would later become Casa's rivals in the cup.
"The cup? What happened there?" I heard the countless forum readers (TBL, etc) ask. Let me tell you, my dearest fans.
[[expert cropping and pic making]]
Casa smashed their first 3 rivals. Followed by a close 2-1 win in round 4 against a team who would be relegated from 2L, come the end of the season (Atletico CP). Then followed by a narrow 1-0 win over a promotion contender (SP Covilha). After this came another closely fought game against a 2DN team, which ended with Casa Pia winning after a 90+4 minute own goal by Gondomar's captain. As a result, Casa proceeded to the semi-finals of the (not-so) prestigious Taca de Portugal. Where they faced Espinho.
Unfortunately, Casa Pia couldn't withstand the barrage of Fredy, and they slumped to a 4-2 defeat. Josh Reed raged. Swifty laughed. Fans cried. However, not all was in vain. For Josh Reed and his lack of attention, didn't notice it was only the first leg of the semi finals. In the second leg, thanks to the glory of away goals, and following a 90+1 minute goal by Carabello, Casa Pia won 3-1 (5-5 on aggregate, Casa winning with their 2 away goals, to Espinho's 1).
Josh Reed stood smugly above the lowly achievements of Danwell Stirling and James Moorely. Up on his pedestal he urinated goals upon the heads of the less talented managers. Who cares that Danwell finished like 6th in his first season in the 2L, comared to Reed's 17th? Who cares? Cup glory was his and his alone.
Facing the mighty Casa(nova) was a small team, but relatively successful team. Not many had heard of them. Sporting Lisbon. They had only won this cup 25 times and the Portugese Premier League 32 times. I mean, no biggie right?
But in all honesty, it wasn't as bad as it looks. It took until the 32nd minute, before they actually scored. Them with their £5m+ players, me with my youth GK inbetween the sticks due to Paes being injured, and 2 DMs/MCs in the DL and DC position due to injuries.
Did the loss hurt? You ask. No it certainly did not. After much deliberation with James Moore, we turned to the rules. It turns out, the winner earned £500k for winning and a place in the Euro Cup, BUT!!! if the winner already qualifies for the cup/European Champions Cup, then the runner up is qualified and what's this?! Sporting Lisbon won the PL, thus qualified for the ECC.
Guess who is going to Europe?
[03:10:49] Body Issues Moorely (Swifty): nice one [03:10:52] Body Issues Moorely: Body Issues Moorely punches a f*****g wall [03:11:01] Body Issues Moorely: Body Issues Moorely cries in despair [03:11:12] Body Issues Moorely: Body Issues Moorely bangs his head against a door [03:11:14] Body Issues Moorely: congrats
Men wanted to be him. Women wanted to be with him. Parents wanted him as their son, etc.
Meanwhile, in the league, following a 5-1 defeat against a team that should of been beaten.....(Tondela):
Unfortunately, with Swifty and Fordius eagerly awaiting the results... I lost 1-0 in the final game against Penafiel, a win would of been required due to awful goal difference and bad results against Belenenses.
There we have it guys and gals. So very nearly Cup and League success. Here is to another exciting season in L2.
Suck on that.

01:23:48 Jan 21st 13 - Mr. Body Issues Moorely:
Breaking with the Casa Pia leagues for a little while to test our mettle against one another, today we announce the launching of the inaugural McDonaldss VU League, sponsored by Brannigans Law. Flipping your burgers since 2010.
So, who are the contenders, you ask?
Simming sensation from the north, it's Danwell Stirling. Fatty feeler also from the north, it's Joshing Reedle. And yours truly, bodily issues and all, it's Semaj Eroom.
Not involved in this game currently:
Bran. Because he's thick as shit. Legend. Some excuse about not being good enough. Ford. Can't afford it. Pure. Some excuse about his connection.
THE LEAGUE? McDonald VU League THE TEAM? Levski. THE TIME? Now.
LET'S GET IT ON

01:28:02 Jan 21st 13 - Mr. Body Issues Moorely:
Uhm. First game was Danwell vs me. Uhm. In the first 45 minutes we didn't see any highlights and in the 2nd half we only saw two, because somebody who is used to simming forgot to switch the highlights package over to extended viewing.
So I can't really explain what happened in the game, as I don't know what did.
Long story short, Danwell scored in the last 2 minutes of the game to set up a 1-0 win. Can't show you the screenshots either because, shock horror, Danwell left the game [thereby kicking me out] before I managed to.
Well fucking done Danwell.
Danwell 1 - 0 Moorely
|
02:07:46 Jan 21st 13 - Mr. Body Issues Moorely:
In the first of the two Moorely/Reedle encounters we managed to switch the settings off Stirl..sry, simming, to viewing. I set up with the same 442 I had used in the previous game, except by replacing Ellie at left back with Starokin. Reedle set up with what could be best described as the "penis formation". The balls were formed by the back 4, the base of the penis was his defensive midfielder which acted as a link between the balls and shaft and the shaft was formed from 3 central midfielders, an attacking midfielder and striker. What a dick move.
The ebb and flow of the game was, as I'm sure Reedle will attest to, mainly in my favour for this game. Most of the highlights were my own, watching my players gracefully bypass his clusterfuck of a midfield and up the flanks. I took the lead in the 24th minute when Vezalov my centreback lost his marker [I'm being generous to Reedle here, I don't think he understands what marking is, let alone how to set it up] at the back post and boomed a header in. 1-0. Reedle drew back on the 34th minute. I had a throw in at the half way line and with some slack passing, Reedle snatched the ball away from my team. Reedle passed it up to De Carvhalo, who was robbed by Vezalov but the ball fell to Dimov who again passed it to De Carvahlo, who again managed to fuck it up and get robbed. De Carvalho managed to regain the loose ball and spotting a run from Marcinho, played it in between my two defenders for the AMC to run onto and smash beyond my goal keeper. 1-1.
Reedles second goal came in the 72nd minute. I had the ball down the right flank with Ramos who was tackled by Starokin. Starokin played it to Marcinho, who passed it to De Carvalho who was 40 yards out from goal. "40 yards out?", you ask. "It must of been a screamer of a goal!". It wasn't. He managed to amble [not sprint, Reeds play is snail paced at this point] those 40 yards past my two central defenders without a challenge and into the box where he took a shot at the nearpost and it went in under the keeper. It was a shit shot! Should of saved it. But the game wasn't over yet.
In the 85th minute with Reedle's buttcheeks firmly clenched and penis formation throbbing, he looked to see the game out. I had the ball in my own half and was strolling it around casually. Vezalov. Yovov. Mulder. Yovov. Mulder. "UNLEASH THE KRAKEN!" I cried. Marcinho drops deep and picks the ball up in midfield. Into Yovov, now running the right channel. Now Ars gets it on the edge of the box drawing 2 defenders. PERFECT THROUGH BALL. DE CARVALHO RUNS PAST THE DEFENDERS [injured by Reedle, a trend about to be set here]. GOLLLLLLLLLLLL. PANTS DOWN, I'VE TAKEN REEDLES PENIS FORMATION AND SMASHED HIM UP THE ARSE. 2-2. Game, set and match.
Reedle is now crying enough to feed a village full of Africans.
Moorely 2 - 2 Reedle
|
02:58:00 Jan 21st 13 - Mr. Body Issues Moorely:
In the second of the two Reedle/Moorely fixtures, De Carvahlo was replaced in the starting line up owing to his injury from the previous game. I made tactical changes going into the game that didn't work out. Elie was back in at left back. Anticipating Reed would continue being a cock playing the cock formation, I dropped a striker and played Angelov in the anchor role infront of the two central defenders to try break up what little play Reedle had. It didn't really work and I readily admit for the first 45 minutes Reedle outplayed me and I had few chances. The first half flew by without incident and at half time I made changes, replacing Angelov with striker Joao Silva and I reverted to a flat 442.
The second half was more even with both sides having chances [and myself the better ones, obviously]. I made a further change in the 55th minute replacing Ars with Opoku, a like for like change amongst the strikers. Then Reed started being a dick. In the 61st minute he injured Marcinho who was replaced with Yovov. All substitutions had now been made. In the 71st minute Reedle got a corner. An out swinger to the back post found an unmarked Miliev who [in my non biased opinion] took a wild, ugly and untidy swing at it. The ball was ungracefully smashed into the back of the net to make it 1-0. I immediately switched to an ultra attacking tactic. But dicks don't dick about. Sensing that I was clawing my way back into the game, Reedle then in the 78th minute took out Yovov who had only been on the pitch for 17 minutes and now had to go off injured. I was now 1-0 down and playing with 10 men and all substitutes made. A Brannigans-Law at this point might choose to go full retard and retire, but not me. I grabbed the game [and his formation] by the balls and stepped it up a notch. The game was on.
You know the drill now. Beautiful play, the Moorely way. Time was running out and only a few minutes remained. Elie to Opoku. Gadzhev. Elie again, who spots a run down the left flank made by Raykov. 3 men now surge into the box awaiting a delicious cross. De-liv-ered. Raykov crosses to the near post. Opoku has lost his man! He chests it down. Uhm. *Cough* Goal. Uhm. Okay, I don't know what's happened there. Basically Iliev, Reedles goalkeeper has gone down to scoop up the ball I think. Opoku didn't actually do anything after he chested it down. He sort of just flopped his torso in the goals direction and saw the ball rebound off Iliev into the net. I think.
BUT WHATEVER LOL 1-1 THX FOR THE POINTS MAN!!!!
League so far [aka Danwell has basically already won]

|
22:38:53 Jan 21st 13 - Mr. Body Issues Moorely:
How do you say "robbed" in Bulgarian? "Swifty" is probably the approximate translation.
In the 2nd leg of the Danwell/Moorely tie, I knew I needed to win to go top. I set out an attacking line up with my wingers pressed up the pitch and a box to box midfielder and a central midfielder in the centre to dominate the play. Danwell, like Reed and his penis formation, stuck to his usual tactic of 442.
I was arguably the better side for much of the game. In the 30th minute I took the lead with Ars. Ramos, hugging the touchline, brilliantly heeled the ball into midfield for Angelov to pick up, who in turn played it to Gadzhev. Spotting an Ars run, he played him through and Ars finished brilliantly to get us the lead. I paused the game for a minute to give Danwell time to wipe away the dribble on his chin.
In the 61st minute he hit back. I was in his half as you would expect, dominating play, when he charged down a long ranged shot from Gadzhev and sprinted into my half. Raykov played in De Carvalho who saw his shot parried into the path of Ars by my goalie. With only an empty net infront of him, Ars scored. Lucky as fuck.
Matters were made worse in the 72nd minute when Prochazka dived in the box after Mulder cleanly tackled the ball from him. The commentators said the penalty looked harsh, and indeed it was. Ars stepped up, fired it to Ilievs right. SAVE! The ball sprayed out and Stirlin's Raykov immediately picked the ball up. BUT WHAT'S THIS, YOU ASK? ANOTHER PEN? Yes, unashamedly within seconds of missing a penalty, another Stirling player had fallen over to win another penalty. This time Ars fired it down the middle and Iliev once again managed to get a touch on the ball, but unfortunately the sheer power of the shot saw the ball cannon off his legs and into the net. 2-1 to Danwell. Fuck off, Danwell.
At this point I was pretty pissed off with how unlucky I was and how the ref was favouring McSimster. So I set my attacking to overload and went for the kill. In the 80th minute Stirlin got a corner, it was easily cleared by Gadzhev who headed it away. But Stirling's namesake was lurking outside the box and with a strike that can be described as little more than a fluke, we saw the ball fly past 20 players and into the back of the net. Injustice. Not worthy of a mention tbh, crap goal.
In the 90th minute I got a consolation goal from Prochazka, who lashed the ball into the net after Danwell failed to clear a corner. I would lose the game 3-2, but in many ways I was the moral victor in all this. Danwells goalie had an excellent game racking up a 7.4 rating [to my 6.8] and arguably kept him in the tie. The referee also had a very good game for Mr Simster, too.
Danwell 3 - 2 Moorely
Congrats simster on your victory in the inaugural McDonalds VU League, sponsored by Brannigans Law.

so, once again im leading the way on the promotion front and being promoted has given me a much needed boost, secure finances, growing fan base and increased scouting range giving me access to players around the world, i have managed to seduce these fine gentlemen to the cause. players swifty can only dream of signing

22:18:16 Jan 29th 13 - Stirlin (Dark Prince Stirlin):
so another season comes to a close and i once again prove why im a better manager than swifty, a manager more suited gardening leave.
the season went all the way down to the last game, all i needed to do was win, but alas like swifties promotion hopes they fell apart, i through everything at them and even missed a penalty, the fm gods didnt want to reward me with european football the legit way, theres always next season
so far ive signed 3 new players and currently looking for fullbacks and a aml. here are the sexy beasts 5 star poteintial, Kouassi slots right into right wing as i have a feeling raul will be making a big money move
Tony Marchena comes to me for 8k with 5 potiential, he will be replacing Agu who has been so consistant throughout the season but all needs upgrading
Julio Fernandes, my fav of the new batch at just 18 he already is my best CB and with 5 star potiential he will soon be one of the leagues best CBs
but now for the most important news 37million? THIRTY SEVEN MILLION, how the fuck am i gonna pay that off?

04:40:19 Jan 30th 13 - Pure (Mr. Axwell):
Swiffers said I had to do this crap so its going to be short
and per annum.
Edit turns out it wasn’t that short, I do ramble on a bit.
We join Ricardo Alves, the Portuguese Australian born, ex sunday league
footballer as he takes Casa Pia to glory.
Alves looked to pack more of a punch in all fields of his team, he cancelled
the loan contracts of players such as Moises to free up some wage budget to
bring in the likes of the 2 Cristiano's (Advice from Danwell) as well as the following:
And some new staff:
My first XI looking like this during the most part of the season:
As we entered the January transfer we saw Casa Pia go to the #1 position with a
win over Louletano for the first time this season.
Due to the placement on the ladder, my squad depth and wage budgets I only
looked to offload a few players in the Jan window. Unfortunately they were all
too shit and no one wanted to buy them for free.
As we approached the final few games in was a battle for the #1 position and
the only promotion spot between Casa Pia, CD Mafria and Oriental Lisbon with
the title swaying between the 3 on a weekly basis.
We approached the final 3 games confident, Casa Pia were up 4 points, needing only to
win 2 of the next 3 games. CF Benfica were fighting to avoid relegation yet some
how mangaged to make the Taca De Portugal semi final (Da fuq, also only to get
knocked out by their Parent club Benfica), the game started well, being up 2-0 at half time I was
confidence we would go one to win this game, the second half starts with a jew
goal from benfica (Aww shiet can this low ranked team beat me?) but Nii Plange
showed his form completing a hat trick in the match and bringing us to a 5-1
win.
The next game saw us travel to 7th place Quarteirense with a fine form of 5
straight wins and a 6 wins straight at home this wasnt going to be easy task,
half time came it was nil all, gave the team an inspirational talk (with the
limited options fm provides) and they went out and looked Quarteirense in the
eyes whilst they took their Anal virginities with a dominating 2nd half
performance ending the game 2-0.
CASA PIA ARE BEING PROMOTED. A feat Swiffers couldn't achieve in his first
season.
My season matches looking like this:
Final league table:
BUT WAIT, the 2nd phase has just started to come around.
Unfortunately for the team my star striker Nii Plange was out injured from a
friendly match 10 days prior to the start of the 2nd Phase as well as my
starting LB Zinho.
After a disappointing 3-1 defeat away at Espinho the lads knew that they had to
bounce back with a win at home against Boavista. It was a dead game till Alves
opened the scoring in the 66th minute only to be equalized off the kick off by
Simon in the 67th minute. Casa Pia held out until the 73rd minute for Djaniny
to step up and achieve glory and breaking the draw. The game finished 4-1 to
Casa Pia.
The next fixture allowed Casa to get even with Espinho at home, with the
scoring opening quickly with a goal just on 2 minutes saw Espinho take the
lead. Old faithful Plange equalized on the 7th only to be back on the
back foot in the 12th minute when Espinho scored once again. As the time for
the first half looked to be nearly over Plange scored his second on the 43rd
minute. Its even at half time, once again an inspirational half time speech saw
the boys go out swinging with more possession and shots on goal, unfortunately
none were hitting the back of the net... 90 minutes came +4, 91, nothing 92,
nothing 93.5 nothing. WITH 30 SECONDS LEFT ON THE CLOCK, PENALTY TO CASA PIA.
(Me: lol wot? rly? fck yeh) Luo jing steps up *Why the fuck is he taking the
pen, da fuq*. GOAALLL Luo Jing has equalised in the dieing seconds of the
match, kick off to Espinho immediately cancelled out by the whistle for full
time. Casa Pia 2nd despite having the same points as Espinho and the same GD.
I knew what had to happen, If Espinho lost at home to Boavista all I would need
is an away draw at Boavista in 15 days time, shit, pressure is on. 7 days pass,
Boavista eat Espinho 0-2,sweet this is good, just need a performance like the
last two games.
Kick off goes and once again my defense concede an early 13th minute goal, and
like previous games answered quickly by my offense with a 31 min goal from
Carvalho a CM. Plange once again took advantage of the dieing bodies before
half time scoring a 45th minute goal. 2-1 at half time, things are looking
good. The 77th minute comes as Cristiano scores a brilliant long range effort
and saw the scoreline 1-3 to Casa Pia at full time.
Casa are champions of the Portuguese Second Division.
The team now have till the 8th of July to rest up send time with their families
then report back for pre season

|
04:12:17 Feb 1st 13 - Mr. Mate Dont Mad:
My second season, with the odd blip along the way, proved to be productive. In the League Cup group phases I was drawn against the teams that ultimately finished 1st, 3rd and 8th in the league, but I managed to pull off some good results and qualified for the next round at the expense of the heavyweights, where I lost to higher division Alves over two legs. In the Taca Cup I made it to the 3rd round before being drawn against Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon [who incidently won the top division this season]. No Reed luck/Pure reloading to get easy ties to the final there.
In the league there was an improvement over last seasons finish. For much of it we were the leagues leading goalscorers by some margin, but our inability to keep a clean sheet at the back time and time again would cost us valuable points. It's an area I certainly need to address in future markets. In the end we finished 13th with a good GD [comparitively].
Transfer wise, little business was done in the summer. Due to the financial restraints placed on the club [still in debt and still having to make repayments] I released 21 players and could only bring in 4 [2 on loan], leaving me with a small squad. In the January window I managed to pull of a coup by acquiring two stellar prospects, Guillon and Reyes [below], who will undoubtedly serve me well in future campaigns.
4 more seasons and I'll taste top division football!

Hello loyal fans. It is I, Josh Reedle.
Oh? Please, tell me more.
Thank you, thank you. That's enough, please! ........ Okay maybe a little more praise.
At the beggining of the season, the famed Casa Pia manager knew he had to get some new talent in. With cash in the bank, and potential in Europe he set his eyes on some BIG targets. Did he target a variety of players? Of course not. He did it the Reedle way. He signed 4 STs, 3 DLs and a GK.
An excellent youth prospect. Although he isn't the best choice of Strikers in my arsenal, I gave him alot of action in the latter part of the season, hoping to help him vastly improve some stats (he has bad composure, I know).
This guy is usually my #2 Striker, pretty good Target Man.
Here he is. The King. He looks great, doesn't he? That's because he is. Although, he's not living up to his full potential at Casa (I think I'm dragging him down).
This is him on Stirling's game:
So yeah, I'm keeping him from glory. But who cares? He's leading me to glory.
One of my 3 DLs. I play him in the DR position, as I was lacking one of those too, and he can play there.
My new GK. He isn't as good as Danwell's and Swifty's, but ah well, he'll do. He pulled off alot of cracking saves during the season.
I also sent out Djaniny and several useless youths on loan.
At the start of the season, it was as action packed as the chaos Swifty causes for Bran when he pops to pick up his McDonald's breakfast. Due to SLB (Sporting Lisbon Benfica, not Sporting Lisbon... sigh) winning the league and the Taca de Portugal, the runner up (me) progressed to the Supertaca. The Charity Shield of Portugal. Did I lose 9-0 like the previous season? Of course not, I only lost 4-1, thus scoring my first ever goal against Benfica, from like 4 games played against them (conceding over 20).
Following this, I went on a Euro Cup run, drawing Vardar and winning 6-3 on aggregate over 2 legs. Then beating Wisla 4-3 on aggregate over 2 legs. With these two wins, Casa proceeded through the Qualifying rounds, into the first phase of the Euro Cup, where I drew Olympiakos, Galatasaray and Lech.
What will happen? What surprising revelations will unfold. Will I succeed like Danwell? Will I rule the cups like I did last season? Will I be forced to reload the game for 30 mins like Pure? Or will I slink to mediocrity like Swifty.
I will finish the rest of the post later.

21:15:17 Feb 1st 13 - Stirlin (Dark Prince Stirlin):
so the end of the 2017-2018 season and a glorious one it was. we will start with the cups. firstly the taco, and with a route into europe it was a priority. i left out the first few round as it was against terrible 2nd league(swiftys league) teams that were push overs, the second round was actually a two legged fixture with the first match ending 2-1 to braga, a vital away goal which in the end wasnt needed as a dominated the 2nd leg with my new tactic, the final game we will ignore BITCHES WE BE IN EUROPE
and lets move onto the more lucrative cup, the league cup where the big boys play. a relatively easy group thanks to Lisbon fielding a weak side i progressed easily. our familiar rival once again cropped up for the semi final, a welcome fixture compared to benfica or Porto, a lovely 3-1 win, and were in the final, cup glory imminent, maybe not, lets ignore this final too. maybe next year
and heres the bread and butter, the league yes you do see clearly stop rubbing your eyes. 5th place and a LEGIT(read that josh) way into europe think of all the dowwa!
ego boosting time
another proud moment, my baby coming second in a national award, the guy is a product of my youth academy and ive seen him from a teenager into a man. unfortunatly hes been getting interest and my other young cbs are better stat wise so he will be making a big money move shortly
and another proud moment, one of my star signings getting the recognition he deserves
also while were here, 1 year until my gold plated stadium is complete!!

02:25:22 Feb 2nd 13 - Mr. Fmbest:
I will follow Stirling's lead and continue with the cups, from my last post.
I already posted about the Supertaca, but, not mad. I got Euro Cup, League Cup, Taca and the league to concern myself with.
So, back to the Euro Cup. It started out gloriously. A fantastic 1-0 win at home against Olympiakos, thanks to a brilliant run by Arroe, and a tidy lob over the £2.9m Keeper, while he was off his line. Despite the fact I only attempted 8 shots, to Olympiakos' 18 and I had 41% possession. I played the Swifty way and shut up shop and hoped for the best. Except you know... I won.
After this glorious upset, I figured I only needed to beat Lech twice, and possibly either draw one of my games against Galatasaray or the remaining match with Olympiakos. I was confident in progressing through. As expected I lost 2-0 away to Galatasaray, which, by all accounts, a reasonable result for a tier 2 team such as myself. Following that loss, I beat Lech 2-0 then 4-3, with Olympiakos next up.
Que? τι; Olympiakos? The biggest and best team in Greece, will draw at home, against a tier 2 side who got lucky last game? Fanouris Eleftherakis, you so crazy.
Of course, I ended up losing 2-1, with Sanogo scoring a consolation goal late on.
In the end, I did not earn enough points to proceed through :(
(Cropping skillz) Like Swifty's weightloss tablets, this was a bitter pill to swallow.
However, I had other targets in mind too. Not mad, I always got another run in the Taca, a go in the League Cup and potentially promotion in the 2L, right?
In the 1st Phase of the League Cup, I was drawn into Group C with Sp. Covilha, Aves and Arouca. I lost to Sp Covilha 4-2 and beat Aves and Arouca 2-0 and 2-1 respectively, and thus, went through to the 2nd Phase (neither are important enough to screenie). I drew Rio Ave, a respectable PL club. I beat them 2-1 at home and drew 1-1 away, and onwards to the 3rd Phase (another group phase) I went!
I drew Braga, Nacional da Madeira and Vit. Setubal. With only the winner of the league qualifying for the next round, I had to step up my game!
What? No?
The only conselation, is that Sanogo won the Top League Cup Scorer award. With 6 goals in 7 games. Cba to post pic of the email I received, too many tears in eyes atm.
Oh well, at least I still had the Taca and the 2L...right?
The Taca de Portugal, I started in the second round, drawing some Pedras Rubras, whom I easily swatted away, 4-0. Next up, I drew PL team Freamunde and I surprisingly beat them 3-2 due to two goals from Licinio and one from Sanogo. Next up, I drew an easier team, Naval. I smashed them 4-2 thanks to two from Baal (my dm/mc), one from Sanogo and one from Djaniny. In the fifth round however, my potential dreams of Taca glory (again) were dashed by drawing Sporting Lisbon, away. They owned me, 2-0. Which is, I think, a reasonable result. Considering how I had 2 shots (0 on target), compared to their 17 shots (6 on target) and 63% of possession.
Not mad, I still got the league to consider. Promotion will be a sweet, sweet buffer against the loss of any cup glory this season. (8) Silverwear, we don't care, we'll follow Casa, everywhere! (8)
I got off to a rather, disappointing start in the league. In the first 10 games, I won 4, drew 1 and lost 5, mostly big losses too (4-0, 3-0, etc). But it wasn't to last for long, I went on a decent run of form, and managed to drag myself out of the cesspit of Swifty's everyday struggle and get back onto the dizzing heights of 6th place in 2nd Tier of Portugese football. That is, until I got rocked by a 6-1 defeat, at home against Leixoes. Followed by a string of no wins (in both cups and league). However, it was only a short stint. I sucked it up and powered on. Winning 6 of the next 7 games, by fair margains (alot of 3-0 wins there). With 30 games played now of the season, I found myself as a major promotion contender and sat in 2nd place, not too far from 1st, but with many teams nipping at my heels. However, in the next 4 games, I lost 3 of them and drew the other. Effectively knocking my promotion prospects a hefty blow. Plucking my ideas up, I battled to the second-to-last game of the season. I was sat in 3rd place, 3 points behind 2nd (Feirense).
I was playing a rather average Arouca team. I knew this should be a win. I knew it had to be a win, or my chance of promotion this season would be shattered. I hesitantly press the kick off button.
10 minutes in, losing 1-0 :( [01/02/2013 02:09:02] Josh Reed: I think, ****s sake, my season is over
I had already begun picking my laptop up, ready to throw it out of the window in rage. While I leisurely strolled the 2 steps to the window, Arroe steps up, making it 1-1, with all to play for. However, Arouca mount the pressure, I panic a little, seeing the relentless attacks from their side. I glance up at the window again, and as I do so. Sanogo picks up the ball, dashes through the defence and has a cheeky little dink over the opposing goal keeper. It sails over him, as he flounders to get back to his line. "GOOOOOOOOOOOALLLL" I think in my head. I edge further towards the edge of my seat ready to cheer loudly at 2am. "Glory. Promotion." I think, while it sails nearer. Boom. It hit's the woodwork and bounces out. However, Andrei Silva, my average DC, who has played consistantly all season (61 games this season, including cup games....0 goals). He runs to the back post and scores a beautiful tap in, while the keeper refused to catch the ball as it floated through his 6 yard box. "That's it," I think. However, immediately after, they hit back. 2-2. Then, SANOGOGOGOGOGOGOGO! 3-2! Andrei Silva! 4-2! (Note how he doesn't score in 61 games, then when the pressure is on, he scores 2).
My excitement soon ran out, when I found out 2nd won anyway and it had all been for naught. My promotion challenge rested on them losing in the final game of the season against Santa Clara away, and me winning against Fatima at home.
God dammit. Whatever. Don't care. Hate this game. FM being FM. Etc.
At least someone has noticed my effort:
Onto another season in this dump. :(
Speaking of debts:
Pretty rich and no debt. Yes Bran, I'll have a side order of smug with my Chicken McNuggets. Infact, Chicken Nuggets for all, even you poorman Swifty. But don't take the mick, just because you can eat 4x 20 packs of Chicken Nuggets, doesn't mean you should. Also, no Bran. You cannot have the monetary value of the Chicken Nuggets, so you can invest in some more bad stocks.
All in all, a poor season. But who cares? I'm loved by all.
Oh, stop, loyal fans and players. There is only so much praise I can take.

JANUARY
One month of the year troubles SWIFTY more than any other.
A month to send trepidation into the heart of the bravest men. A month that causes SWIFTY to wake up in the middle of the night, stark bollock naked, with cold sweat dripping from his every pore. A month that causes all form to be thrown out of the window, a month to see teams inexplicably nosedive like Brannigans shares. A month that always delivers [unlike Reed].
Here's to you, January. Destroyer of dreams.

01:28:59 Feb 7th 13 - Mr. Mate Dont Mad:
First Division Dreams and FM being FM
At the start of the season the League Cup group phase turned up difficult ties again. This time I faced the eventual league winners, and the 5th/6th place teams. I won away to Penafiel in the first tie 1-0, lost 1-0 at home to Setubal and rounded off the phase with a comfortable 2-0 win against Feirense who went on to win the league. In the next round of the League Cup I faced Olhanense [who finished 11th in the top division], losing narrowly 1-2 at home and drawing 1-1 away.
In the Taca Cup I had my usual non-Reed luck/non-Pure reloading. I made it to the third round before drawing top division side Aves [finished 9th] and lost 0-2 away, ending my cup hopes.
From there, I had to focus on the league campaign. And what a campaign it was. In the early part of the season, the top teams swapped positions regularly and it wasn't until the 9th game before the pack started to settle down and we found ourselves firmly placed in the top 2. From game 9 to 25 we only fell out of the top 2 spots twice and we regained one of the two spots in the following game each time. The battle for top spot during this time was contested by ourselves and Penafiel [who eventually slipped down to 5th]. Then January hit.
The January form was actually a mixture of FM being it's usual January-FM-self and me being injury hit. My star [and only good] centreback Pinhal got injured for 3 months in early January and form dipped in the immediate games after that. Fernandes went from 12 goals from 13 games, to 13 goals from 25. Danilo and Lima were injured. Reyes was regularly on international duty for key games and my back four in the absence of Penhal went from averaging 7s each game to 5s. 7 wins from 9 games prior to January soon turned to 1 win from 9 in the following games. Casa Pia slipped from 1st to 3rd.
A catalyst for change was yearned for and it returned in an ignominious fashion. On the 7th of March a tired and unfit Pinhal returned from injury and was rushed into a game vs Setubal. He actually performed poorly in the game, a 5.6 rating but the rut was sensationally stopped. A 1-1 draw. In the 9 games following his return, Pinhal averaged 7.1+ per game and more importantly, Casa Pia won 7 of the games and lost none. It was back on.
With 5 games to go Leira topped the table and were 2 points clear of second place Feirense. I was 4 points behind Leira. But in a thrilling away tie we nicked a 1-2 win to knock Leira into second and Feirense went top. I was now only 1 point behind a promotion place with 4 games to go. As it turned out, 3 of the teams I would play happened to be amongst the bottom 5 teams in the league. Easy ties on paper, and I'll be honest with you. They were. 3-1, 2-1, 5-0. With 2 games of the season to go Leira slipped up to Gil Vicente [finished 4th] and I overtook Leira. I was 2 points clear. Because I had already beaten Leira 2-1 away and drawn 1-1 at home earlier in the season, I knew I only needed to avoid defeat in my final game to gain promotion against them. I love the head to head ties rule. When it suits me. It suited me.
And so Portimonense came to Estadio Pina Manique. I was bricking it. I knew a draw would be enough to guarantee promotion and I set my team up to play a wide counter attacking game against their 41212 formation. Statistically it was pretty even and Portimonense gave it all they had -- they needed a draw or they risked relegation. Pedro and Porfino went off early in the second half with injuries leaving me with 1 substitution left. In the 67 minute my world crumbled around me when they were [harshly] awarded a penalty. 0-1. Leira were coasting 3-0 in their game and I faced the brink. Changes were quickly made, I switched to an attacking 442 and brought on a TM [not Sanogo] to partner the black man up top. 70 minutes. Nothing. 80 minutes. Time was running out. 85. Corner.
The Black man delivered the cross to the near post. It was flicked on and evaded 3 opposition defenders. Roncaglioni. Roncaglioni has been with Casa Pia since he put pen to paper with us as a 15 year old boy. He rose up through the ranks, been through thick and thin with us and was the first player to play internationally for the club. I love him. Roncaglioni drifted off the back post. He swung his left peg at it. TWAT! The goalkeeper hopelessly watched the ball fly past him and the defender on the line could do nothing about it. Roncaglioni . The Legend. 1-1. BRB LOL ULTRA DEFENSIVE TIME.
I held on for the final 5 minutes. We got the point we needed. We held onto 2nd. We got promotion. We did it the right way. We are [not] the Champions!

01:06:18 Feb 12th 13 - Mr. Mate Dont Mad:
Don't worry about Pures lack of updates, guys. He claims to be in the PL now, but is busy reloading to make sure the results match the claims.
We drew Gil Vicente in the League Cup 2nd round and beat them 4-1 on aggregate over 2 comfortable legs. From there we were seeded for the 3rd round group stage of the LC, where we were drawn against Aves, Braga and Vit. Guimaraes. We lost all 3 games 0-2, 1-2 and 1-2 respectfully. The first two ties were actually rather even despite the scoreline, the third game I was thoroughly outplayed by the team who finished 4th this year.
We were seeded for the third round of the Taca Cup. For the third year in the row, I met PL opposition [Braga] in this round and we crashed out. FML, FM. Maybe I should start Reedloading or Stimming to get some nice easy ties. Oh well, onto the league.
We did ok.
We finished with the 4th best defence in the league [only behind the "Big 3"], which for a team in its first PL season is an amazing feat. Pinhal was shortlisted for defender of the year and was my third highest goalscorer this season, but due to rampant corruption in the Portuguese FA he was overlooked for the award. I was also shortlisted. But I humbly refused the award after I discovered I couldn't vote for myself. I ended up voting for Leonid Slutskiy, Tony and Timmy Simons instead. Nice names, faggots.
The [real] league table, sorted by best defences and weighted to
truly reflect the league. In many ways we're the 4th best in Portugal.
On the flip side, my strikeforce and wingers were absolute wank. We scored the fewest goals in the league as a team. Black man finished our top goalscorer with a paltry 6 goals. As you can see from the squad depth image below, my team had fuck all in the way of depth up top or out wide. Despite being promoted and despite having a positive bank balance for the first time in, well.. ever, my board weren't going to allow me to spend big and my wage limit per player was £2k [in GBP, the equivalent is Branns annual salary for burger flipping].
Here's my new assistant manager. He looks fab, doesn't he? And his stats aren't half bad either.
Oh, and Deco is a dickhead.

16:58:19 Feb 18th 13 - Mr. Fmbest:
Year 16-17 (season 5?)
Following 2 seasons of NEARLY being Promoted, it was all or nothing this season. Two years of hurt, narrowly missing promotion to the top flight meant the pressure was on. Both fans and the board expected success this season.
If you were to look up Swifty Syndrome in the FM lingo dictionary, you would find the definition to be: Having a decent start to the season, then failing massively in January.
If you were to look up Wilbad Dysfunction, you would find the definition to be: Having an awful start to the season, then trying to play catch up all season.
My examples: Season 1 (2DN Promotion season): 5 losses, 4 wins and 2 draws to begin the season with. Season 2 (2L 18th finish): 6 losses, 1 win and 2 draws to begin the season with. Season 3 (2L 5th finish): 5 losses, 1 win, 1 draw to begin the season with. Season 4 (2L 3rd finish): 5 losses, 3 wins, 1 draw to begin the season with.
This season, it got off to an amazing start.
It continued from there. Following the success, came excellent News Paper headlines.
Bojang-elic? Is someone high?
So yeah, as you can see, I ruled this season and promotion was a given.
Check out dat' Goals For.
Thanks to these three:
It was never in doubt I'd gain promotion. I was at the top of the table for more than half the season.
Awards and recognition for my players was a certainty.
Of course, I want recognition for myself too.
As such, a reward for my hard work for the club, a huge sponsorship increase:

ok heres my season update which i have JUST finished, you see i like to show my accomplishments and share them with my friends ala swifty, not disregard this thread and continue playing ala pure and josh.
we shall start with europe our first venture into the cup of dreams erm yea....moving swiftly on!
onto the cups taco and the league cup, last season i reached the dizzy heights of the finals of both so with that the club had high hopes but hopes dont get you far, crashing out of the league cup in the group stage and only making the 6th round in the taco, both on the receiving end of a santa cara loss sealing my fate in both cups
perhaps the league will be better and so it was! suffering only 7 defeats all season and scoring from all angles i soared up the league dislodging the big four and cementing myself as one of Portugals top clubs, doors are opening for the little club from Lisbon
on another note, my gold plated stadium has finished, and what a beauty it is
honorable mentions/gloatings

I can't be fucked giving a detailed and accurate description of the season right now. Here's it in bulletpoints. Because fuck paragraphs and fuck the English language.
1. Up until November, I'm 2nd in the league. 2. In November, we reach the 5th round of the Taca Cup where we're knocked out by Benfica [eventual league winners]. 3. A week after the Taca Cup defeat, we play Benfica in the league. We lose that too. 4. Immediately following the Benfica defeat, my teams morale drops. Yeah, because 2 defeats to the best team in the league is going to turn them into retards, FM. 5. We play Estoril after Benfica, who are in the relegation zone with 0 wins from their past 9 games. They beat us. I'm sucking lemons, mate. 6. Immediately following the Estoril game, we're drawn for the League Cup mini-league. Who do we get pitted against? You fucking bet it. Benfica. We lose, finish 3rd and are knocked out. 7. My team is now in free fall. Remember, until we played Benfica we were 2nd. Now we're 6th. Remember this guys. 2nd. I'm fucking clutching at straws here. 2nd. 2nd. 2nd. 8. Immediately following the League Cup defeat, we play Bellendsesesesese. Their last 5 games? Played 5, lost 5. Scored 0, conceded 11. They beat me 2-0. 9. FML, FM. 10. I managed to pick up form after this, despite having terrible squad morale. We win 6 of the 8 next fixtures dragging us back into 5th. It's on. Sorta. 11. The final run in was difficult. We would play Porto [who we beat] and Benfica [what do you think the result was, Sherlock?], but I thought we could manage to hold onto 5th and get Europa League qualification. We actually only won 1 of the remaining 7 games, drawing 3. But most importantly, we held 5th. 12. We made it to the final game of the season 2 points clear of 6th and 3 clear of 7th. A win would guarantee Europe next season. We were playing Estoril. Again. Their previous 15 games? Only 1 win. They were already relegated. "Easy" I thought to myself. Then I stopped thinking of Wilbers mum, and focused on the game. "That's easy, too". 13. 12 mins in. I score an OG. 73 mins in, I level it. My team are playing like retards though and I wasn't going to win. BUT!!! 14. Olhdickheads in 6th were drawing 1-1. I knew if the score stayed the same, I would hold onto 5th. In the 85th minute I checked the scoreline for the final time. I was satisfied. It was mine. They were still drawing. 15. Game finishes. I go to league table. I'm 6th. You fucking what. They scored in extra time to nick a win 2-1. I'm fuming. 16. So now I'm 6th. 6th still provides Europa League qualification, provided the Taca Cup finalists are already qualified, etc. Simples, I think. The "Big 3" always win it. Every year. Always. Without question. 17. I check the previous winners. Yup. Over the past 11 Taca Cup years, only 3 clubs have won it. You guessed it, the "Big 3". 18. So I check whose in the final this year, rubbing my hands gleefully. 19. FUCK. 20. OFF. 21. A 2nd division side and 10th placed Bellendneseseses are contesting the final. 22. No Europe. 23. I want to curl up into a ball and cry. 24. FM being FM.

Yeah. His team were awarded the Europa League fair play spot. Him and his dicking side who avoided relegation by 1 point are in Europe next season.
