just let Killer right the rules, for crying out loud!

Shielding

Level 1 - Lesser Kinetic Shield; creates an extremely weak protective field in one direction. It reduces the velocity of projectiles travelling through the field... slightly. This would be of more use against telekenisis and Earth Strike. 1 mp

Level 1 - Lesser Energy Shield: Draws away the magical power of attacks launched through the shield. Mono-directional, very slight reduction. This would be of more use against fireballs. 1 mp

Level 3 - Lesser Void Field; creates a black-hole esque rift at a target. This draws in projectiles, and can fire them all back out again at additional mana cost. 2 mp, 2 per projectile to launch back

Level 5 - Kinetic Shield: Same as the lesser incarnation, save it reduces more. 3 mp.

Level 5 - Energy Shield: Guess what? 3 mp

Level 10 - Mordakien's Personal Bubble: Creates a, well, bubble of energy all around you. The temperature, air supply, and atmosphere within this bubble is carefully regulated, and protects the user from all external threats as well until burst. This would be of use if the temperature was raised or lowered beyond normal human limits (e.g -20 degrees or 60 degrees), via the appropriate magic, and perhaps be efficent against Cyclones and Earthquakes as well. 7 mp

Verthias followed the students as they walked out into the woods, but did not take special care to avoid being seen: He was, after all, a student. He watched as they were told to fetch their wands, and then looked for his own. He found it, on a dying weeping willow tree, it's branches dipping into the water, but stiffening with decay. It matched him, perfectly. Petrifying it quickly, and carving on appropriate runes, Verthias checked the effectiveness of his new wand...

Demonsul was yet to find Plato, but whilst searching the corridor for him, he had an ingenious idea. He used [Empathy] to search for nearby students, but within seconds of casting he felt a horrible emotion nearby...it was as if someone was being tortured! Demonsul broke into a run. At level 7 mind skill, he had a good idea where the emotion was coming from.
Skidding round the corner, Demonsul nearly hit a suit of armor, but it politely stepped out of the way quickly before impact. This school gets wierder every day, Demonsul thought, but he had the presence of mind to yell "Thank you!" before disappearing down a side corridor.
The horrible tortured student was just round the corner when Demonsul stopped for breath. Despite the fact he had spared no time running all the way there, Demonsul was not suicidal, and whatever was round the corner was lethal. Suddenly, the tortured scream being transmitted via empathy faded away. It didn't stop as if the person screaming had stopped, it just faded away unnaturally. Whatever was happening had ended. Probably with bad results for the student...it was time to leave.
When Demonsul was a safe distance from the thing that had tortured the student, Demonsul stopped running. Luckily, he stopped just before he ran into Plato. "Plato, you always show up too late!" panted Demonsul. "I was looking for you, but I found something terrible instead!" Demonsul then went on to explain about the tortured emotion, and the student that had something done to them that probably wasn't pleasant. He even threw in the suit of armor for good measure. When he was done, he looked at Plato and said simply, "We have to do something."

Plato walked through the halls, trying to find the library, when Demonsul came running by.  Demonsul stopped and said, "Plato, another kid is being tortured!  Use empathy!"  Plato did this and flet a terrible feeling.  The yran to where it was coming from and ran into the room.  The kid was screamin loud.  A black creature was next to the kid, apparently trying to control it.  Plato sent a earth strike at it and Demonsul used an elecktric shock.  The creature screamed and fell back into the dark.  The thing took the kid with it.

OK I can't figure out how many lvls I can advance with all current levels and points and blah blah blah
